  1. The full set of official pics are here at The Brothers Brick.
  2. When it comes to the Marvel CMF, I'm of the opinion that an MCU series wouldn't give us much in the way of new and interesting molds. Even cartoon based would give us much more mold value. A six-armed Spider-Man would be interesting. I have my hopes for what the rest of the upcoming Marvel sets will be, but I think I'll leave off on any more speculation. We don't have much longer to wait for more concrete leaks to start surfacing.
  3. White Dragon Horse Jet is a definite buy. Lots of parts that I could really use. The Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain is major a want, especially since all the monkey figs make a classic Planet of the Apes MOC possible.
  4. When it comes to the MCU, there are all kinds of people with "rumors." There are those that would be conspiracy theorists if their thing wasn't fandoms (WeGotThisCovered even gets memed). There are the logical, but passionate, speculators that try to match what little can be confirmed with existing Marvel lore. There are people with some industry knowledge, but not enough to spoil anything crucial. Then there are those who have official permission to "leak" something to help build up hype.
  5. Check again. The underside has 2020.
  6. Been offline most of the day, so I just saw the Korg headgear, and had to catch up here. The moment I saw it, I had to settle for my self it wasn't a Nexo Knights reuse. It looks like it could fit in with the rock creature aesthetic, if it were purple. If Korg is in the D2C, I would hope it would be a non-minifig scale Sakaar build, with figs on a display stand, particularly if we could get the Man Thing statue face at close to minifig scale. Korg isn't really an interest of mine, so I probably wouldn't even shell out for a parted out resale. If he isn't in the D2C, but in a regular set, I might get him for his mostly fantasy design.
  7. The 2006 version was without the light-up minifig. I bought it mainly for the parts. I never saw the appeal of the light-up figs.
  8. A close look at the Alien Beatbox has shown up on IG.
  9. Most remaining MCU character variants (at minifig scale) wouldn't require much in the way of new molds, and certainly those few molds wouldn't put any strain on the main theme's budget. A comic based CMF seems plausible. My current favorite Marvel comics character, whom I still hope will make a MCU debut, would need one these robes in dark blue, with printing.
  10. In the US there's what is called a "no knock" warrant. Since a very publicized incident, though, their use has been called into serious question. From the description of events, UK police seem to have a wider latitude for property damage during a drug search. There will likely be a judgement of restitution, but there doesn't seem to have been any legal wrongdoing under UK law. The police may have had other factors going into their "reasonable suspicion" that she may not have been aware of. The occupation of Nurse implies access to pharmaceuticals, though I can be wrong in this supposition. If that was true, and there had been a theft of medication in her workplace, the purchase of such a precision scale would seem suspicious.
  11. It took me a moment to realize the release dates on the polybags are listed day/month/year. I expect the Raya one to be extremely popular.
  12. I may have misstated my intent with my earlier comment about to whom Castle 2013 was marketed. I was referring to the fact that LOTR, which was only a year into its run when Castle 2013 debuted, was largely going after the movie (and existing book) fandom market. At the time that was teens and adults. I was only referring to the disparity between those two, not previous Castle themes. I should have separated that comment from the heraldry comments, which were where I did make comparisons. Yes, there were some advances in build techniques over Kingdoms, but some of that had to do with the wider availability of new parts, and some the freedom of aesthetic. Also the relative realism of Kingdoms didn't require many complicated techniques.
  13. There is so much in the Avengers comic lore that these could be almost anything. Just take a look at the roster on the Marvel site, and see all we could potentially have. And that's not counting all the honorary members, West Coast Avengers, Young Avengers, most of the Dark Reign team, and those with other team affiliations that sometimes fill out the roster. I have found myself spending huge chunks of time just browsing through the Marvel character roster. Just pick one primary Avenger, scroll through their history for a bit, and you'll have fodder for any scale set you want.
  14. Castle 2013 was marketed at younger builders, and relied heavily on the combat aspect. The builds for the most part were simpler, the heraldry struck many as cartoonish, and the faces of the figs were mostly pretty goofy. I actually liked the lion heraldry from it because it seemed like a blue version of the Royal Knights, albeit with a slightly more geometric lion. The dragon heraldry is more cartoonish than previous versions. One notable positive that came out of this was the 4x4 diagonal brick, which is significantly more useful for modern building techniques than its 5x5 predecessor.
  15. I can see Wildlife Rescue getting a helicopter for airlifting a large animal. I can also see fire rescue as the focus of this. The new fire piece didn't get as much use as could have, and those energy piece sets are actually pretty good as water spray effects.
  16. Yeah, and parts from this subtheme are good for Aquazone MOCs. I got that one in a 20% off sale at a local dollar store. Let's celebrate the inclusivity of Eurobricks.
  17. I think the most Lego would do in the way of a subway for City would be a street level entrance. I've never been on an underground train myself, and my hometown has a historical museum inside the old train depot. (Could Lego do that?)
  18. There are some very grainy images on IG of three Bandmates, two I don't think have had good visuals. One is the ice cream guy. It looks like we'll be getting a (brick built?) 6 x 1 2/3 stand that can hold three tiles, and some accessories relating to the fig.
  19. The write-up on Brickset gives a look at a number of the prints, and a couple of the new parts that weren't quite visible in one of the leaks.
  20. If we get a Gauntlet, it might be the Iron Man version. That would have all kinds of nice greebling.
  21. I thought Bandmates had 11 parts listed in the leak. This would make these more like a polybag, or the random shield packs from Nexo Knights with a minifig in place of the large holder. If the expected idea of tiles printed to be read by an app for special cuts of music is true, then this is all about kids learning to do sound mixing.
  22. I think I posted about this on another thread, but Dune is centered around a messianic figure. All the cinematic representations hold to this, and also the level of sadism of the titular villain is more pronounced in the original film. These things put all iterations of Dune well outside the standards set by LEGO. When it comes to alcohol, much of western Europe is more culturally liberal about it than the US. The laws governing age of permissible consumption and/or sale are different. Therefore the depiction of alcohol consumption is less of an issue for a company that is principally Danish. My true dream license would have to be Animorphs, using the books' cover art, not the TV show, as a template. At the time they were being produced, though, Lego didn't have the kind of new mold production capacity that would have been needed. Now, however, a number of the kinds of parts that would be needed actually exist. For a realistic contemporary license, I'd have to agree with a previous suggestion, Locke & Key. The Netflix series, which is getting another season, is rated TV-14.
  23. Since this is also a discussion page, has anyone else seen the 'leak' that there will be another F*R*I*E*N*D*S set this year? I don't know how legitimate Brick Guy (on Facebook) is, but it got shared to a Lego FB group I'm in.
  24. Some pieces of the Clone Saga are hard to read.
  25. The Narwhal bag tag has trans-light blue 1x1 round tiles printed with bubbles. I think I'll be getting that one.
