  1. But she lost it to the earlier version of herself. Did she recover that, or remake it afterwards? I cannot remember.
  2. I think normal set box size comes down to three factors: area required for optimum box art, net weight of all included, and space required for large parts and instructions. There are some occasions where sets get specialized box designs, like the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.
  3. Are any City builders here anticipating the $300 Marvel D2C The Daily Bugle? It's supposed to be the comics depiction, not any of the films versions. I meant to post something yesterday, since we got confirmation on that being the set we're getting (no pics yet), but the Marvel thread has been real hard to keep up with. I figured it was worthy of comment here because of the discussion around a City D2C.
  4. The upcoming Benatar having 3x as many pieces as the previous could mean that there is a small ship for the Chitauri. A removable head could also mean bigfig bodywear, instead of having it molded into the torso, thereby making the torso piece usable across multiple characters.
  5. Could a removable head mean bigfig bodywear? If Thanos' armor would be removable, then a bigfig body could be used across multiple characters.
  6. And on Mar10 day of all things.
  7. The Carnage bust looks like it uses stickers. If they are clear and black over the red brick, I may get him for the parts.
  8. Korg on a couch, with earphones (recolored from Monkie Kid) and a controller, makes complete sense as a GWP.
  9. Rotating head on the bigfig! Important for future bigfig mold uses.
  10. My information was based on the main Marvel comic universe, 616, because this is supposed to be a comics Daily Bugle. I never actually watched the Raimi Spider-Man 3.
  11. One quibble, Eddie Brock never actually worked for the Daily Bugle. He may have tried, which would make sense beyond him covertly stalking Peter Parker after he got the symbiote, but the Wiki I quoted earlier doesn't list him. It does list quite a number of employees, which fueled some of my speculation.
  12. Marvel should have at least some rights to his likeness, as he has been depicted in Marvel cartoons, the comics themselves (ever heard of Stan Lee's Soap Box?), and pictures of him were Easter eggs in the all the Netflix Marvel series. Honoring Stan in minifig form should be a quite appropriate usage of any rights retained by Marvel.
  13. News from Promobricks on an as yet unseen upcoming Disney set, 10775 Mickey and Donald's Farm. It includes a SHEEP! Big hope it isn't brick built.
  14. Doing a bit of Daily Bugle research, there is a printing room, but it is in the sub-basement. I'd like to get that, as I seem to recall a Spider-Man fight scene (I think with Venom) in the 90s TV show. If they do it that way, we could get a bit of sewer under the street outside, which would likely give us the Lizard. I do expect JJJ and Joseph "Robbie" Robertson. We could get Eddie Brock and Peter Parker. We should get at least one female reporter character, probably Betty Brant. If Lego want's to do another FF tease, they could choose Miriam Birchwood, who attended Reed and Sue Richards' wedding. If they give us the receptionist, that should be Marge Butler. I'd also hope for Lee Kirby. If they want to do some serious comic nods, a 2x3 printed tile for Now Magazine would be great. Prints of headline pages as wall decoration are quite likely.
  15. When it comes to the comics based The Daily Bugle, I'm going to do a little research on the Eddie Brock/Venom history to narrow down what we could expect to be included in the set. For a MCU CMF, I have a few ideas. Iron Man Mk4: CMF level printing will help distinguish it from the Mk3 which is expected in the Iron Monger set. It would have a sunglass wearing Tony Stark face with HUD reverse, and include a hair piece, doughnut box (2x3 tile and plate), and a doughnut (1x1 round tile). Steve Rogers, Army Recruit: Olive green Army uniform, mid-legs (because he's SHORT!), helmet, flag (yes that scene). Peggy Carter: British Royal Army uniform, unsure what accessories to give her. Stan Lee Cameo: Could be any one of a number of his appearances, but most likely his Watcher Informant scene. Odin: Fully armored appearance in Thor, with screen accurate spear. Heimdall: Fully armored, with screen accurate sword.
  16. Lady Cantoni stood in a huff, and announced, "I won't countenance the invasion of sovereign territory for the expressed purpose of overthrowing the rightful government. We were going to propose sanctions on both Oleon and the WTC for their actions. Though one has done less than the other, they both violated another nation's sovereignty, and on this principle I will not bend! We should not do as they have done. We should be better! If we are to punish these violators, we should do it the Eslandola way, with our economic power. Oleon has committed much of their wealth to their endeavor, and the WTC is a business. We can do much to them without committing their sins."
  17. Someone other than T'Challa will likely be donning the mantle, and suit, of the Black Panther in the upcoming movie. My point was that having the new mold already produced, and going into a set this year, suggests Lego has plans for a much wider use later on. Lego generally gets a 2 year lead time for set development, and for most of the Marvel properties, that lead time having likely begun in relation to the pre-pandemic release dates. The Making of WandaVision debuts on 3/12, and if we were to get a set for the show, its reveal would most likely be held off until after that.
  18. The new helmet mold for the Black Panther set pretty much confirms a significant wave of Black Panther 2 sets in the future.
  19. The new leak seems to include a gun turret of some kind.
  20. I wouldn't be too sure about that. Sony still has its own upcoming Marvel movies, and all the comic/cartoon Venom and Carnage sets we got are a way to capitalize on that universe without a separate deal for the movie rights. One of the delay dates for Morbius (now slated for next year) just passed, and before the current crop of leaks, I had hoped we'd see a Spider-Man vs. Morbius set because of it. It wouldn't be hard for Lego to come up with a whole host of set ideas based on the Marvel properties Sony has rights to that can be held in reserve until needed.
  21. New Elementary has a list of the currently available BeatBits. Like Dots, there's going to be more in successive waves.
  22. Quite plausible. The bridge would have to be made of tons of trans plates in a SNOT build, which could make just that more expensive.
  23. I suspect the $150 set could be Thor's home in New Asgard. At the price point it makes sense for it to be more of a movie scene display (similar to LOTR) than a child's playset. The house itself would be a complicated build, with lots of details, add the truck that can hold Rocket Raccoon and Professor Hulk in the bed, and all the characters in the scene (which would require 5-7 new molds), the value could be there. In that scene, Rocket's outfit looks more grey, as the fig is rumored to be colored.
  24. Don't know who's at the helm, but the guy at the cannon looks like Baron Blomberg, alias Tony Twister, after a shave under that makeup.
  25. If it's the dome of the Bifrost, I'd hope to see Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse.
