Okay, since you don't seem to be too interested in this project (at least I guess so since nobody except jof and TT replied) I would like to hear who wants to participate! If we have less than 6 modules the project will be cancelled! Please tell me within this week if you participate!

Isn't this the basic storyline at almost EVERY movie / book / ... ???? It's almost ALWAYS good vs. evil, so what the heck are you complaining about? If Ice Age is Shrek on ice, Star Wars is the tragic version of Shrek in space! :-/ And actually I had a really great time watching Ice Age, probably I'm too immature to get the unfunnieness of it though... *sad*

After some research we noticed that Andy was our ex-member Masterchief and therefore he is banned again... and again... and again... Topic closed!

I personally am really happy about some good looking females! For Bikini-Leia I already have seen so many cool uses and I think Catwoman will add perfectly! Actually I can see already a MOC involving Leia, Catwoman, a cellar room... erm... nevermind... :-$

I think this poster has this one and only message: "Is it possible that I have prejudices without of noticing it?" In my opinion this is not against the Danes or Denmark or whatever. As I see this the LEGO brick is a symbol for prejudices hidden behind some sort of innocence where you'd never expect them to be hidden! Denmark was never really involved in all those conflicts going on with Irac, Afghanistan and so far (At least not in the way e.g. the US was). If you thought about that problem there might have come states and countrys like USA, Great Britain, the problem countrys itself in your mind. But Denmark? I can't remember of reading or seeing anything involving them in the conflicts. And then? - Kawoom - There comes this highly offending caricature from this country nobody had looked at before! Sure, it was only one newspaper and not the whole Danish population, but how shall the world know this? How can a man in Afghanistan know about the situation in Denmark? At this point the next wave of prejudices rise! Because of missing further knowledge almost EVERYBODY tends to take all people of any larger group (Iracis, Germans, footballplayers, AFOLs, barbers,...) and give them the attitudes ONE KNOWN INDIVIDUAL of this group has! NOBODY is free of prejudices (which, in the most extrem case, are racism!) and nobody every will get rid of them, as wise he is and as much knowledge he has! BUT we can work on them, decrease them, think more openly, try to learn about each other instead of giving everybody general attributes! And this is where this advertisement steps in: How can I work on my own knowledge if I don't know that I AM thinking in prejudices? This ad shows us: EVERYWHERE prejudices can hide, even in places you would never expect them!

That's no problem! I'm already looking forward to them! :-)

Yeah, he comes over every now and then if there is something to complain about our little place! :-D

Bought three red 4349 X-Pods last week, each 1,50 Euro. Wish they had more of the old Pods at this price.

Hi all, I know it's not much time left, but nonetheless it is still possible to have a group MOC project! Concept sketch: Every participant (hopefully all of you!) is asked to build on a 16x16 baseplate something that is related to YOUR country (most probably in Micro-scale)! Examples for Micro-scale: LEGO Factory sets at Brickset.com. The scale itself is not as important, as long as your creation fits on the baseplate everything is fine! This means also if the thing you try to build is small enough to be in Minifig scale and it still fits on the baseplate it's also just fine! A 16x16 creation should fit in every bag, so even those who are coming by planes should be able to transport one module! And since it is not that large it won't take too much time to build, so everybody still should have the time to throw something together!!! Here you can see the basic structure of the baseplate you can use: The green bricks can be replaced, but the borders (one row of 1 wide grey plates (no matter if new or old grey) and one row of 1 wide grey tiles above the plates) must be kept! They are the pavements which should look similar at all modules! Examples for module ideas: There are several possibilities, including - monuments - places - important buildings - some random buildings showing the building style of your country - a typical landscape of your country (that sure is a challenge!) - other things like a special car, maybe just the red british phone box,...) ... or whatever you can think of! One quickly done example: You're country has a famous hospital? Fine, show it to us!!! The black street: You don't have to care for them, most probably I will create those plates and bring them so that everything can be attached to a huge European diorama!!! The pavement: You might have noticed the Minifigs walking there (at the first image in this thread). When the real group MOC is put together the pavements will be the places for our Sigfigs, so - if you own one - bring them to the event so that our Lego-selves all can walk around our Group MOC!!!! ;-) More details: Probably I will create a background for this scene that will be put behind the back row of modules. What and How will be decided after I got the number of modules you will bring. Will you bring something? Hopefully yes, the more MOCs we will have the better the overall layout will look! So please think about it and tell us if you want to bring a module! If there are any further questions don't hesitate to ask them!

6206 - TIE Interceptor - Picture Review THE BOX The the most superficial part of any LEGO product, but the one that often determines whether or not the set is a success or failure. Box Design: Very nice (As always). There's nothing new here, but there are two nice alternate models. One is a speeder and one a helicoptor. I love those explosion effects on the box too. WHAT'S IN THE BOX? So you've bought it and taken it home (or at least made it to the car), punched the perforated tabs and dump out the contents. What do you get for your money? Just the parts and instructions. What did you expect? A 100 doller bill? THE BRICKS Here's where we start to cut to the heart of the matter. You didn't buy this box for all the glossy booklets & creative artwork. You want to know about the LEGO bricks & bits that are included, and what (if any) new & interesting parts you'll find inside. Here's also where I'll talk about any new and/or interesing pieces that you will encounter. As always very good black parts. The wheele is very nice for pirate builders, but of course, they'd just get one off Bricklink. This is also a good source of flat blue plates. I'm satisfied with what I got. BUILDING EXPERIENCE What can you expect while putting this model together? The same TIE cockpit construction, with some interesting design on the wings. The building of this model is nice and relaxing. Nothing too *I wanted to say that this set contains a lot of big pieces but didn't want to take the time to write it all, so I used the word "*I wanted to say that this set contains a lot of big pieces but didn't want to take the time to write it all, so I used the word "<insert that tiresome argument>" instead*" instead*, nothing too hard. MINIFIGURES THe little guys who run around the scene? Yep, they're included too, and sometimes they make a big difference in the overall rating! You get a TIE Pilot as usual, but instead, with a black head! This is a plus, as the little bit of the "kneck" you see will look movie accurate. I still wish they included a stormtrooper or something extra, after all the other mechanic thingys in the other new sets. PLAYING EXPERIENCE So you've got the model together, but is it more like playing with a block of wood or an interactive toy? Very good play value. It is very swooshable, and the cockpit opens fine. Like I said before, they should have added a "mechanic" as that would add to minifigure value, and play value. Still great. OVERALL Here's where it all boils down to whether the model is worth your money and time or not. Overall, this set is awesome! There are somethings I wish were in this, and others I didn't really want, but it is still a great set. I think for a $19.99 set it really fits a good price/parts ratio! 9 cents (US money) a piece! I suggest you get, one, or too, or three, or... Overall score: 9.5/10 A review

Strange, they seem to be the right size for me. They started of big but afterwards they became small. Now, they start of small... That's your browser shrinking them for you. This sure works for many people, but you also have to think of those that are connecting via a modem or that have slow computers, those have problems with displaying them properly. Vahki, to create a great article (a review in this case) you need to have make everything work together as good as possible. Embedding nicely sized pictures, formatted text and paragraphs and such helps the reader to enjoy the article much more than some quickly typed sentences [EDIT: After reading your review again they all are proper typed, so this last hint is no particular critque at your review!] and some pictures he has to open in another window and resize them himself! I think I will resize the pictures for you and show you what your review could look like! ;-)
-
The peeplinks still go to the unformatted, huge pictures *sad* Come on, don't be lazy and modify them!
-
I read your comments (and avoided looking at those brainkilling pictures! :-P ) and I must say I really like your style! Asking a question and answering it immediatelly somehow is such a natural way to illustrate what you have in mind while talking about a particular set! Though another hint: Try to use the formating tools too make the text look more enjoyable and structured!

Waaaaahhhhh!! Duuuuuude!!!!!!!!! Look at the Picture Resizing Tutorial !!!!!!!!!! And try to get sharper pictures! Put your camera on a stand or at least on a pile of books or whatever to avoid moving it while pushing the button!!!

Are only mods allowed to do photo reviews?
ApophisV replied to 5150 Lego's topic in Forum Information and Help
Actually I did already this four years ago or so and took the sets apart after one year of display. So I still know which sets I own. But my last try was based on my own instruction booklets and those dutch instruction scan page, this time I know of Peeron, Brickset and Bricklink, so hopefully there are some sets I'll be able to rebuild which I hadn't the last time! Peeron gave Aredhel and me great hints which sets could hide in Aredhel's box of parts and we were able to resurrect some cool things (1592!), hopefully we will find some treasures amongst my collection as well! ;-) -
Thanks for the nice words! I always imagined dozens of this craft surrounding a huge Starship (ISD or Enterprise sized) that is in a Spacedock for maintaining. Actually I wanted to add some technical arms instead of the two red 2x2 tiles at the cockpit's sides instead of the weapons, but the set's limitations didn't let me :-( I don't understand what you mean!? *wacko* I might give it a try some time in the future! ;-)

Yeah, even if some sets aren't available at normal toy stores some might think of getting them from Ebay or Bricklink or whatever sources they might have. For those people reviews of old sets sure are a great idea. Not to mention that some of us are wise enough to feel happy to see their childhood sets once again suddenly appearing here... *wub* Not everything that is "in" or recently released has to be good and the only thing you can focus on! BTW, forgot to add: Aredhel and me will try to rebuild all the sets I ever had (mostly space from Blacktron 1 up to Ice-Planet, Pirates and Castle) when we find the time, I think I'll make some pictures of them then! ;-)
