Okay, here is the deal: If you want to post something containing spoilers, please do it like that: [ quote= SPOILER WARNING!!! ] [ color=#FFFFFF ] Your spoiled text [ /color ] [ /quote ] If you put it down correctly (without the spaces!) the result will look like this: Now people can mark the spoiler and read it or let it be, just like they wish!

May I ask what a "Bar Mitzvah" is? (Some Jewish by chance? Am not too sure about it though... :-$ ) But since you seem to be happy about it, congrats! ;-)
-
Yeah, that sounds great! :'-) Actually I like the idea of those half-medieval, criminal Pirates in foggy and humid environements much more than those Banana-eating and Rum-drinking happy, colorful Pirates! ;-) So if you can up with something I really would appreciate it!!! :'-) (BTW, since my good camera is currently in the repair shop it will take some while till I can get beter pictures than those showe above)

DUDE!!!!! X-O NEVER!!!! The LAST person on earth selling his LEGO would be ME!!!!! :-P 3 days! If you have a closer look at my gallery you will notice that I made in-progress-shots of the MOC. DAY 1: DAY 2: DAY 3: The pieces itself WERE in use! :-P I always used them here and there, some Pirate accessories at my Brickquest figs, white castle walls at Blackwhite Castle, accessories at my Hideout and Diablo 2 characters and my christmas MOC in 2004. My scythe projects also used several Pirate pieces. You see, the parts itself were always incorporated in MOCs since this the Royal Port had been destroyed. Though I have to admit, that I were mostly more in Space and Mecha creations the last years. BUT since I am playing Gothic 2 (old, but great game!) I can't wait to find the time to build scenes from it, most probably the starting town that features a harbor and a huge galleon!

Thanks for bringing this ooooold MOC back into discussion! :-D Thanks alot, I really feel honored! YES! It always was one of my most beloved sets I ever had during my childhood and it's great details were always a huge source of inspiration for me! Though I have to admit that the shape of my MOC initially wasn't meant to represent the ITP's overall layout. The very basic idea behind this MOC was: Generating some sort of landscape (here mainly the rocks around the inner bay) and THEN trying to build buildings in this prefabricated environement. I am not sure if the shape of the coast was inspired by the ITP I still had somewhere in my mind, it surely was subliminally present. Nope, token apart loooong time ago! :-/ So thanks alot for your nice comments, I think the revival of this topic might inspire me to do a new Pirate MOC soon! (If I find the time for it. (Dana, darling, would it be okay for you to stay at home and play LEGO with me at the weekend? X-D ))

Phes, your work is so fantastic! Really impressive! One thing that might be changed at Yoda's signature: between the feet and the shadow there are some pixels that seem to be lighter than the shadow and the legs and therefore the figure itself looks like it is floating above the ground. So maybe you could try to darken them a bit. Other than this I can't find ANY point of criticism! *y* And after seeing those nice images the idea of getting my own pirate signature appeals more and more to me... :-$ So could I get one too? For the case you'd do me the pleasure, my piratified Apo sigfig is attached! (Picture quality is bad though, I'll try to get better pics at daylight)

I really don't like comments like "Your MOC isn't that great because you haven't used SNOT!" Actually SNOT is just one technique among many, many others. It sure can add much to a MOC, but often there can be lots of other solutions to the problem you try to get over. I honestly like to build using SNOT techniques alot, it is somehow real fun to me, but only because I like the technique and because some people think it is "in" to do SNOT, it doesn't mean everybody must use it. (Here are some examples of my SNOT MOCs: Rocket, Castor, Croissant, Dandelion) If you like it, build with it, if you have other solutions for the MOC your qorking on, show us something different!

Brickster, for somebody saying about himself that he "isn't that good at MOCs" you show so much talent! Even if the scenes you build doesn't show up as much tricky techniques as other people's MOCs do, you have this amazing talent to achieve wonderful results by using almost only basic bricks and plates! This MOC seems to have much more architectual (does this word exist???) structure, something not many builders achive no matter how many SNOT or whatever they use! Please keep trying getting the best out of the very basic idea of LEGO and show us more of your creations! *sweet*

some cool customs on ebay (not mine)
ApophisV replied to mutley777's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The Reek looks great, but for the Acklay... I don't like it, I think i have seen customs that were MUCh better than this. Especially the leg construction is soooo *n*, there sure had been many better ways to make more flexible (and better looking) legs if the creator hadn't used those click hinge bricks. -
A masterpiece... *wub* I love that almost-2-D feeling of the included models, they are just genious! Now lets go for a Viking PC! :-D

I'm worried about the strenght of the magnets when we ride on rollercoasters....

Dana and me will arrive friday evening... We will directly drive to the B&B I think.

Yeah, I also had a similar idea, though it looks more like a sarkophag than a coffin... It would be great ot have them in grey instead of brown, that would look even better as a sarcophag....

AaaahhhH!!! Well THAT explains much... >:-) :-P

My injury history also begun much earlier, with 4 or 5 years or so I fell while running upstairs (stone steps) and since that day I have a scar at my lip. With 7 or so I steped into a broken glas bottle and there were one or two pieces (surely 2-3 cm^2) of it in my foot. With 9 I broke my right arm while trying to be an artistic bike rider. With 11 I broke the other arm on my schoolway, also a bike crash. Then the Volleyball accident happened I mentioned above. A few years ago I had a motor bike crash (it's a curse, isn't it? 8-| ) and my right knee did hurt for months. The following year I burned the whole inner surface of my left hand at the exhaust pipe of my motor bike. (Yeah, a curse. *sad* )

My Ex-Girlfriend crashed my right small finger at a Volleyball game in sports class (that was even before we came together) and after the finger became the tripple size of my thumb she told me that she also had such an injury some time ago and that the finger didn't hurt anymore and was normal size after two or three weeks. So I didn't visit the doctor and guess what... The finger didn't heal back to normal. Nowadays I have a funny looking finger on my right hand... At least it is normal size again, but with a funny angle.... *wacko* Thanks to my Ex for this.... |-/

First of all: I think I found the number of the set, atop the bar code is a 4 digit number, 3609, this would fit to the adverised sets' numbers (3610, 3611, 3612, 4219). It's just that some people wouldn't ever use anything than LEGO (aren't they called "LEGO purists"? At least at a German website they are) and I only wanted to avoid unthoughtful "That's blasphemy!"-posts! ;-) I made a comparrison between a LEGO fig and the Best Lock one: The Best Lock figure is slightly taller than the LEGO fig, but thats just a subtle difference. This summarized exactly this set's appearance! That made me starting an experiment and... you are right! Yeah, and I also experimented with them, if you carefully attach them to LEGO minifig hands they can be locked in the right position. Actually those accessories are the one and only highlight of the set and I think after all they were worth the money. I can't find any date on the package or instruction sheet with a date, so no idea about the production date. (maybe at www.best-lock.com) The set was produced in China, but there are three manifaturer and distribution adresses on it, one in China, another one in England and the third is in Florida. Hope that helps! ;-)

Happy Birthday! May the Bricks be with you!!!! *sweet*
-
Since I just discovered that however the tools can be attached after some carefully trying to LEGO hands I would say 2 / 10 (LEGO scale) 3 / 10 (Construction Toy Brand scale)
-
Actually this is one point that makes Best Lock appealing (in a morally way) more to me than Mega Blocks or all those other fake brands: They didn't try to copy the LEGO bricks, they invented their own parts completely from scratch! There is not a SINGLE part in this set that looks identically like a LEGO part! If the quality of the material would be better this sure could be a great source for additional parts TLC didn't make so far.
