  1. That's pretty good. Simplistic, yet drawing focus to a real issue
  2. Anyone else here thinking lego brass knuckles?
  3. Personally, I would try posting this in general. idk what the mods think, but it's much more likely to get traffic there.
  4. Where there any security cameras pointed at the MOC? Every time someone has stolen anything at my job, all we had to do was watch the cams.
  5. You could maybe try custom stickers and two http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=892&idColor=88#T=C&C=88 pieces. Or are you trying to use real elements?
  6. Has anyone else thought about how the advent of 3d printing will affect Lego? If someone starts making their own plastic bricks via a 3d Printer, how is Lego going to fare? The Quality of Lego could keep it afloat for a while, but if we could start making our own bricks, wouldn't that spell the end of the Lego group? Am I being to apocalyptic with my thinking here, or is anyone else worried? :pirate_skel1:
  7. I'd just look for some refernence pictures of people in a park, and recreate it with minifigs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Sunday_Afternoon_on_the_Island_of_La_Grande_Jatte maybe?
  8. I agree with CrispyBassist. Wedge plates are the way to go. You could also use some technic No. 4 connectors to make the octogonal tower part, and than use some No. 3s to make the angle right. Then maybe some some 2x2 axle connectors to attach the wedges to.
  9. So has there been any more news on the summer wave since the January Toy fair? I mean we have a few blury pictures of some of the sets, but has anything definitive been said about UCS?
  10. I think anything that doesn't have much thought put into it shouldn't go on Lego Ideas. Its the same principle as bad kickstarters. Is this a good idea that has thought put into it? http://kickfailure.com/2016/03/03/roto-phone-mount/ Its the same principle as this https://ideas.lego.com/projects/74919 , it's not thought out. Bill Watterson HATED merchandizing with a vengence. Even if this project had a ton of effort put into it, which it doesn't, Bill Watterson would never agree to the licensing, Lego almost certainly wouldn't okay a set based off of 20 year old media (Golden Girls kitchen, for example https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98263) There is literally no way this idea would ever be approved. I think Lego Ideas needs some kind of filter to keep projects like this off the site.
  11. I like it! Have you tried using them as real book stands?
  12. I remember really liking that set as a kid. The minifigs were worth it, it gave me some rare parts. (The arch only appears in like 3 sets http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30528&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 and the other 2 are in sand purple ), and I could easily display it. I actually wish they would do more sets like that nowadays.
  13. I think some of the old raised baseplates are really big offenders. https://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=6092pb03#T=C is near useless for anything other then the original set, http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=6092pb03&in=S Raised baseplates in general look cool, but they have limited use for building.
  14. I really like the technique, but I think it'd be out of place in a StarWars MOC. It looks kinda like a cinder block wall, and those aren't really a big part of StarWars. Either way, would love to see your build.
  15. I get that Lego is a big company, but cuusco/ideas/whatever its called now, sets go out of stock Fast. A preorder system could be a fix imho.
  16. I think it looks cool, but there isn't any imagination to it. With lego, you get a bunch of parts that you can use to build anything. With these you get a bunch of parts to build one thing. I'm sure it'll have some market though. Additional Random thoughts: -Really George R. R. Martin? First you take forever on the winds of winter and now an off lego brand? For shame! -All I thought about when I saw the title of the forum was Seth Macfarlane. Far better creator.
  17. I have some old Tyco bricks in my collection. They work just as well as regular lego blocks (Even considering they're at least 20 years old.) I just don't use them for Religious reasons.
  18. Man, people keep making bigger and bigger mocs of this thing. And its Awesome!
  19. I like it, But I think you should change the baseplate to a regular 16x16 plate.
  20. I suppose those work, but the minecraft stuff is really expensive IMHO. I've found Creator sets to work fairly well when you need a lot of pieces. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=122068&colorID=0 might work.
  21. I read somewhere that purple is one of the most difficult/expensive colours for Lego to make. Stands to reason why we aren't seeing any trans purple studs.
  22. Yeah, when you convert it all out, americans get things pretty cheap. Still doesn't explain why the prices have so much deviation though. Euro: $39.23, $36.98, $33.62 Zł: $40.46, $40.46, $35.06 Pounds: $39.46, $47.36, $39.46 Dolars: $29.99, $29.99, $29.99 Personally, I just stick to second hand retailers. Or Ebay. Chances are one of the two has a good deal.
  23. I'd think a comic book style wouldn't be that hard to do, if you know how to photoshop. Otherwise, I'd stick to Option B. But that's just my opinion, I'm not really a fan of walls of text.
  24. Personally, I say stick to the old Snowtroopers. The new ones look fantastic, but it really doesn't matter unless you want to do something where they take the helmets off. Or have their heads blown off. I figure the Rebels must have gotten one or two.
