You can click on the image for a 1600x1200 render (~1MB). You can click on the set number to download the Ldraw file. Please be adviced that I used the latest version of the ldraw library + the latest version of the unofficial parts ! (mostly baseplates, some other parts as well) 7715-1 - Push-Along Passenger Steam Train (Trains/4.5/12 V) - 1985 Known errors: Missing stickers. Part x461b, which I did not found in ldraw, was replaced with 2 different parts (1x2,2x2 bracket + 2x2 tile); a note has been added in the mlcad file in the step where these parts are added.

Sets made in LDraw mini contest
Strikeman replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Another reservation please: 7715-1 edit: In the meantime (I have not seen an update to the table of reservations at the beginning of this forum thread) I have already added the set to the official LDRAW topic. Please be adviced that the set officially has 429 parts + 5 minifigs; however, when you count the amount of parts in the ldraw file you'll have a lot less. This is because the two carriages are identical and I have made them in a submodel, after which I've added them twice to the main model. It does not matter a lot though, so do with it as you please -
Ooooh RCT ... sooo many many hours designing rollercoasters, trying to get as many of them under the ground as possible to be be able to use the surface to build even more rollercoasters You're creating very nice things here Yooha ; is there any change you will release your original LDD files ? I'd dare to venture to make some (if not all) of these with real bricks !

A-Team van and steering stuff
Strikeman replied to vmln8r's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This thing is super cool  Ooooh the memories The steering is very very clever. You are not having any troubles using the 3L blue pins (friction-wise) on the steering ? And the speed is also excellent ! I think I saw it drift in the Youtube movie ? ps, kieran, take them to the A-Team movie maybe ? It's more action-paced than the series was but it captures the spirit of the original A-team very well in my opinion -
Sets made in LDraw mini contest
Strikeman replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As witnessed here, I just posted the following models: 720 A/B/C (I had not booked C before by the way, took a risk and hoped nobody else would make it ) 6381 6384 6389 6541 6552 (I had not booked this one either; I did not see it in the official topic (or I must have missed it) so I took the risk here as well ) 7835 I hope they're all up to your standards, took me some time to figure the rendering out, thanks C3POwen for your excellent guide. The only things that are consequently missing are the strings (not that good with LSynth) and the stickers (which is normal I think ?). -

some other bookings: 6381 - Motor Speedway 6384 - Police Station 6389 - Fire Control Center 6541 - Intercoastal Seaport 7835 - Manual Road Crossing I would also like to book, if at all possible, set 720, model B. This is a Basic Universal Building Set with different (non-numbered) building instructions (all pieces for the building instructions are available in the set), so I don't know if this is allowed ? -

I'm working on 8043, but I'm having a bit of a problem with aligning the parts that are not in 90° positions. I normally don't care about mini mis-alignments, but I don't know how that's looked upon here ? Technic sets are a tad more difficult to make in MLCAD imho, but I understand if you don't want to have files that are only 99% correct ? Or, even better, maybe someone can show me how to turn an assembly on a certain pivot point ? maybe there's a plugin for this or so ? In case it doesn't matter (or there exists a plugin), I'd like to book 8043, this should give me a boost to finish it ... I only have the boom left to do to be honest, but that's where the mis-aligments are starting since the whole thing is in weird angles. -
sorry, you really can not in any way compare a PF set with an RCX set. The brick itself is a computer with many many functions. Creating the programming-on-brick interface, creating APIs (advanced programming interfaces) to interface with your computer, phone or tablet etc takes many more hours than testing a battery housing that can go ON and OFF. you also have all the sensors which are pretty specialized parts and you have the motors which have way more functionality than the PF motors. Also the fact that the system is used in education gives us a clue about its versatility and robustness. I really don't think you should compare ANY PF set with a Mindstorms set. Now, I also find the price to be unreasonably high as the basic components (boards etc) are not that expensive, but the research and manpower to create all the interfaces (mainly software coding) has to be taken into consideration as well. Then again, I find ALL LEGO prices to be unreasonably high and I still can't keep myself from buying them

Sapo117, the cheapest 8878 in Europe can be bought at WASSERMAN SHOP, a Czech Bricklink shop. I've ordered a few from him already so I can vouch for his reliability (he also has 1800+ positive feedback without a single neutral or negative). he sells them for 49.99$ (roughly 38€). 8878 are NEVER sold with the adapter, you'll have to buy that one separately. The cheapest new on Bricklink in Europe is 17.95€ from a shop called electricBricks. If you are going to order an 8878 via Wasserman shop though, I suggest you also buy the transformer there as it will save you on shipping. He's selling them for 25$ (roughly 19€). I wanted a few of them and was also put of by the official price LEGO has set for them; 60€ for 1 or (via Bricklink) 38€ for 1 is a huge difference... PS: I'm not affiliated with this shop at all, just stating the facts here

I've seen this one at FanWelt, it is a very nice MOC  I suppose you're also the person that made the little diorama where a boat is loaded and the boat makes actual "floating" movements as if it's being pushed by the sea ? That one was great as well !!

This is indeed amazing, and I love all the "little" details they put into it ! The numbers are a bit off though; it took about 2,5 million bricks (not 1x1, but in total) and they did it in 6 weeks time with a team that had a minimum of 12 people but was expanded to as much as 50 people at some points in the build !

Bonaparte, are you certain that you want to stick with your current provider ? Because I honestly don't see much going for this provider; they've f****d up twice already (or is is three times) and that's just getting silly now. I have no idea about the bandwidth requirements for EB or the processing power needed, but I could be able to help out if it is needed. Anyway, ace did a good job getting things back online without loss of data, but the goal should be to have no (or as little as possible) downtime/corrupt database at all !! Feel free to contact me if or when there are any problems again and none of the other guys can be reached.

I've uploaded all my pictures (without moderation, so there will be some unfocused ones) on Brickshelf; after about five days (never had to wait that long :() the folder has just been made public. All pictures are in the range of 1600x1200 so I'm not going to link any of them here directly. The gallery is up here: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=518203 If you want to have the original file of a photo you like, please shoot me a private message with an email address and I'll send it to you ASAP. The original photos are 18 megapixel, the ones in the "More-Pictures" submap are 8 megapixel because my battery went dead by the end of the show and I had to change over to my cellphone camera. A few of my personal favourites: LABOR 21 by Jörg Kempe - there are no words to describe this. Really, I'm not kidding. Check the 15 or so pictures that I took of this, this guy made something incredible; I talked to him, he hadn't shown it anywhere on the net yet but I feel like he really should; he has made something exceptional ! Just look at those waterfalls ! The human base inside the mountain can be lit in different colours by turning knobs and the kids were having a blast (making it difficult for me to take pictures as well but I managed anyway :)) This diorama deserves it's own topic. Der Kölner Dom - this is a real piece of art Segway parade - the amount of plates on this diorama is unbelievable Red brick building - somebody went all out with the 1x2 plates :) Europe relief map - can you find all the little MOCs ? maydayartist his big medieval landscape - one of the main reasons for me to go. Too bad I haven't seen madayartist himself there, but your stuff rocks man ! (link to his thread with build progress) the massive LOTR diorama - was already shown on this forum but can not remember the link - it's huge Star Wars (ep1?) pod race stadium - awesome and giant !! There was lots and lots more cool stuff; I absolutely loved the change to see the models from Barman, Jurgen Krooshoop and Dennis Bosman and the models from Bricksonwheels are even more impressive in real life, as I expected :-) Very nice to meet everyone that I met, all the builders were very approachable and were happy to answer questions or go in-depth into their used techniques; I'll definitely be back ! :-)

Sariel, as many have mentioned here, this is a great looking model! I too am one of the (many) people that bought your book because of your style, knowledge, ideas and work. You have nothing but my respect for the work that you did and do, ignore the haters !

Is it normal that I can only use 2 URLs in my signature ? Does this limit get lifted automatically when I reach a certain amount of posts ? I see plenty of signatures with 5+ links and I was just wondering why I was limited to 2 :(

mistiiiiiiiiiiiiic welcome to the penultimate place to be for AFOLs It's super that you joined up to the forum and I am not sorry at all to have taken you with me to FanWelt 2012, it was a great event and we had lots of fun ! Didn't think that it would ignite your LEGO flame again this fast, but I love it and I'm a bit jealous of your Western themed sets, I don't have any of those I look forward to seeing what you are about to build. Welcome to Eurobricks !

I have a question; I'm modelling Technic 8043 to add to this list, but one of the rules is "build must follow the building instructions". I can do that, but the problem is that there are certain steps where elements need to be added in 1 step and then rotated in another step. This is done with the buffer exchange, but the problem of course is that the model itself does not look good as the buffer exchange parts stay on the screen in edit mode. Also viewing it in LDView results in a view with the buffer exchanged parts. So the question is: do I follow the instructions perfectly and try to (re-)create them, no matter how the model will look when rendered, or do I make a good looking model by skipping rotating the parts and placing them directly in their final state ? I'd rather do it the 2nd way as it is much easier to work on the model without the buffer exchanged parts showing all over the place of course :-)

Gijserman, congratulations on making it work, this is awesome :sweet: If I'm not mistaking, you keep the cars in the looping and on the banked curved purely by the use of gravitational forces ? I'm asking because I don't see any side or underwheels.
