Just finished the Allosaurus set - I really love the dino, except the look it gives with his mouth closed. Looks too much like the famous meme: Besides that: neat set, as always only with a nice discount (bought it for 59,99€).

Man those prices! Maybe I'll buy the two smallest sets, but only with a good discount (22€ for four minifigs!!!) I like the AoU Diorama and would buy it for around 50€. The Milano looks great! When it drops to 120€, I could see myself buying it...^^

After buying Rivendell for 400 instead of 500€ because I've waited long enough, you can bet I'll do the same for Barad Dur. Maybe if there would be a great GWP (no brickheadz) AND double Insider points, I'd consider buying it day one. But who thinks this will happen?^^

I was in Raesfeld in 2021 and visited the castle, which is beautiful irl (the images you chose for the post show this very good). And oh howdy, this Castle you created ist stunning, unbelievable! Great work!

Stargate Sets are already produced by bluebrixx, I don`t see a chance for Lego. And for the fans: buy them on bluebrixx.^^ For the poll: I don`t see many sets that could pass, then again, after the horrendously bad Orient Express, there is no big demand on my side.

But how popular is LotR really? Everybody seems to know it, has read the books, watched the movies (a couple or more times), has watched the... "interesting" season RoP. I don`t often hear people really talk about it, most of the time it´s here or in another Lego Forum. So I have no evidence that it is that popular (Disclaimer: I LOVE this franchise and would really love more Lego Sets!!!).

After Rivendell with a nearly 20% Discount (at least in germany), I wonder how long it will take for the Avengers Tower to cross the 400€ pricepoint. Then I might buy it - there are only three or four interesting minifigs for me and the tower isn`t as good as the one from another brand, but it matches better with the Bugle and Sanctorum.

Building Rivendell right now, yesterday I tried to clutch together the bricks for the gazebo. And I was surprised at how bad the quality of the white bricks was! Even with much more pressure than ever, there are still little gaps visible. But hey, it`s only a minor 500€ Set with a niche license. ;-) Don`t get me wrong, I`m not anti-Lego and there are non-Lego sets with poor (or at least worse than Lego) quality, but Lego isn`t that good anymore, either. There are so many complaints about many different sets (for me: Rivendell, friends mentioned Star Wars, Marvel, City), the print quality on minifigs is hilariously bad and the price for many sets is scam. So for me, where many stores already have different brands in stock (something that was unheard of 10 or so years ago), you don`t have to buy Lego all the time. :-)

I`m really digging the Art of Chocolate. Normally, I`m not a big fan of seasonal Sets, but this one is just so cute, this could easily wander in my home. Then again, all the sets (except Camping Adventure, we have gotten many Camping Vans in the past) look very good and interest me.

I saved nearly 20% today on amazon and still have my VIP-Points for purchases on lego.com. Then again, I would never buy sets on lego.com when they are (oder will be) available at other locations like Smyths, amazon or regular retailers. Yeah, double VIP points are nice to have, but you dont save any cent on your sets with that, only on your next purchase at lego.com. Disclaimer: this is, of course, my opinion and way to handle lego purchases. Everyone should do what they do and how they want.^^

Finally - I bought the set for 408€ on amazon today. In retrospective, the waiting for a good price wasn`t all that hard (and I would consider myself a big LotR Fan). It will be delivered on monday, the same day my vacation starts. Excellent. ;-)

Since the immense quality drop I noticed on quite a few Lego Sets, I tried other brands and was pleasantly surprised. Wange, Panlos, Cobi, Mould King - not only can you buy sets you dont get from Lego (many Pirates, Western, Knight Sets etc), but the quality oftentimes is wayyyy better than Lego, maybe even better than Lego in its Prime. And the price is always lower. Most sets I buy are still Lego, but everytime there is ample room for criticizing. The only thing Lego ist still top of its game is the iconic minifigure. Not because of the quality, this is nothing but a shameful topic (for TLG, at least), but because of the form itself. But then again, cheap minifigs bought from certain international shops aren't that bad either. To put some (subjective) numbers on the table: 30-50% lower quality, but 80-90% lower price.^^

I need a new smartphone, otherwise I would have bought Rivendell for 409€ on amazon.de. But this black friday deal confirms that you`ll only need patience to save a hell lot of money when buying Lego Sets.

Liquid Happiness.

Just finished building the Shark Ship from the new Dreamzzz theme. I really love it, but oh man, the stickers on the shark head look hideous! The white from the stickers doesn`t match at all with the white Lego pieces. Truly a shame. On the other hand, the set didn`t include that much other stickers and they where easy to apply.

Building the Shark Ship, really digging the design choices made for the instructions! And when that awesome looking Ship is finished I will continue with the Tree House. :-)

Typical quality issue nowadays with Lego Plates. You can find dozens of examples for many colours. The black Tiles in the new batcave comes in more than six different shadings! \o/

Ninjago Markets, Rivendell, the rumoured Avengers Tower... There are some big Sets I want to buy, compared to these the MK Ocean Palace feels like a cheap Set.^^ Still waiting for the next great GWP and/or double VIPs before I snatch it.

Here in germany I use the site idealo.de, where you can browse for any set (and of course non-lego stuff^^). About three or four weeks ago, I found the set for 430€ at a german online shop. Right now, you can buy it for 450€ at lucky-bricks, including shipping. Better than anything Lego can offer, at least for me. But because the price was as low as 430, I have high hopes that one day I can grab it for 400€. :-)

I would buy exactly one CMF line and 1-3 battle packs, depending on the price and discounts. I really love LotR, but I don`t like Lego prices and I also have other interests (Lego themes and hobbies beside Lego). Still waiting for a better discount before I'll buy Rivendell... 70€ isn't enough.^^
