  1. The two grey dishes and the drill sort of make this look like a kind of aquatic creature. It's funny what just 3 pieces can do.
  2. Whoops, my bad, I got the two mixed up. The original video I saw it in put UK in the title by mistake, it's actually Canada.
  3. I think not that many people noticed or cared as much because it's premiering in UK's Cartoon Network tomorrow also.
  4. oh, I was thinking it could be that as well, but from this angle it looked like the ridges outlining the batarang "wings" were longer than usual. I thought it resembled this kind of logo. I think anything with a classic era color scheme just looks really good. No mater how sophisticated or modern it looks, that color scheme can make it look classic.
  5. Where's the bat-shaped piece near the front of the submarine from? I don't think i've seen it before. Or is it just the batarang?
  6. Yeah, some alternate builds look better than the real thing; and it's not even an alteration, it's something completely different. But I don't think anyone has made one of those for the Samurai X mech to my knowledge either
  7. 1.) Ninjago is original as well, but that doesn't necessarily make it outstandingly good just because of that. What about Lego Star Wars? I personally enjoyed the Clone Wars years. 2.) I suppose ninjas are something everyone can agree are cool. This was the first time Lego's made a dedicated original series on the topic (I don't think Ninja counts). I remember everyone being hyped for Ninjago in 2011, I saw both kids and sometimes adults picking things up around then. 3.) While I personally dislike the Ninjago video games, Ninjago did have a physical game you could play from 2011-2012, which were the spinners. It had an inviting learning curve, and advanced mechanics would be introduced later down the line. To me it was best when you made your own rules, built custom arenas, and used your own weapons. It could get really creative, and it was really popular (I think).
  8. Maybe you should wait for the Ninjago Movie sets. Those will tip EVERYONE over their balance.
  9. The Mechenstien? Those two are the only Samurai X mechs...
  10. Zane looks especially cool. Once again, Zane seems to be the best figure out of yet another Ninjago wave.
  11. Because it's good? I don't know what else to say. It's not really a mystery. If it's lasted this long it must be doing something correctly, right? To me the answer to that is, it's appealing to everyone. Just like Bionicle, I suppose.
  12. That looks really good! I actually wouldn't mind removing one building in favor of a full temple, but that's just me. Actually, I'd remove both buildings and raise the price to $400 to get only the show-accurate version (multiple rooms, indoor stairs, etc.)
  13. Lloyd doesn't really have an original or signature weapon. He's well versed in most weapons, but he seems to use swords the most. He relies on his powers instead.
  14. :O That sounds interesting! It'd be neat to see it all closed off. Sure there might be some things you want to retrieve but it's pretty hard to get things in and out anyway. Now I wonder who will make an MOC of the version we see in the show (original and haunted)? anyone?
  15. I won't be getting those plushes anyways, but I feel that they got a bit lazy on the torso there... They could have plush-ized the outfit as well rather than just putting the printing on it.
  16. Pretty good! I especially like the pokeball. And I know you didn't do it, but Ash doesn't look right with only the hat. I'd prefer he have hair and no hat instead of hat and no hair.
  17. That's not too bad I guess. It's still essentially the same as the US version. I just hope it's HD when it gets uploaded... _ Also, I just saw the alternate DoD, and I have to say I like that one better. The ghost textures compared to the other one aren't as good but I got used to it and it wasn't irritating or anything. Heck, i'd take this texturing in the show rather than HoT's visuals. Maybe? I haven't seen much of it so I can't tell. And the animation is much better, I especially liked how the fights were done. I just didn't feel satisfied with how the fights ended or played out in the other DoD, but this one does good in both. Since the fight choreography is a lot better that means the fights in general are too. I like how Zane vs Cryptor had a lot of trees around rather than just one big tree, and I really like how they ended the fight too. They were grappling, and Zane literally stopped fighting and Cryptor continued pushing and tipped himself over. It felt like an actual way Cryptor could go out. All the attacks done in this version had purpose and each was pulled off good. For example, when Kai was fighting the anacondrai soldier on the bike in the other DoD, it's just, "oh, they're fighting". It's just to fill the time for the real fight direction to advance (ducking under the tree). The alt DoD's version was instead Kai jumping from side to side juggling the two soldiers trying to protect the bike. The only real instance where I liked the fight scenes in the other one better is how Cole would pick up and swap weapons as he advanced through the temple like it was a dungeon. In the alt, Cole doesn't have much of a strategy than to just find Yang. But even so, the choreography was a lot better than in the other special (especially in the fight with Yang, Cole overcame his fears to the point where he sees Yang's every move in slow motion). It was also a lot more apparent to see that Cole's RX ability is magma. In the show it's just orange cracks but in this, it's like peering into a volcano.
  18. Yeah... But at the same time... Maybe there's other show related stuff to talk about... ? Yeah okay... I'll just see myself out then...
  19. Hmm, are you sure? I think it could have been used for a galaxy/space-type character... I don't know. Is it possible to buy those officially online? I'm not very close to either of those places.
  20. I believe some CMFs have used it, but otherwise you're right. Pretty underrated piece. Huh, I'm wondering why they revealed so much of the sets in just one trailer. It looks like the main villains may just be generic-looking aquatic villains and aquatic cultists... Disappointing. In my mind one of the shining points of Ninjago is it's enemy variety and their unique designs. So they are exclusive to the Lego Store or is that the only place they are being found right now?
  21. The new Samurai or the regular Samurai X?
  22. Is this about the new Samurai? Do they also have a mech? On the topic of the samurai, do Ronin and the Samurai ever appear in the same shot? And if they do, remember how good Ronin's holographic technology is. He can generate a realistic cliff wall. So if the Samurai and Ronin do appear in the same shot, he could be using some of that.
  23. Oh. Seeing it now, he could very well be human too. But Yang looks young, while Julien has white hair and more significant wrinkles? Zane lived with Julien while his hair was still brown... So are Julien and possibly Zane older than Yang? But Ray and Maya also both have white hair, throwing that observation out as well. But why does Yang have a black beard while everyone else doesn't have shading on their hair (especially Ray, who also has black hair)? Is that an inconsistency or was that intentional?
  24. I haven't considered that. I haven't looked for these, but I never really have much luck when it comes to finding stuff anyway. But I forget how fast others can dig things up. I guess anyone particularly impatient is out of luck until SDCC. I was wondering the same thing. Can they be found at your basic retailers or are they in other countries right now?
