  1. The Skybound season dubs them "airjitzu suits/gis". Nothing much else to say there. I wonder, what will the summer suits be called? Every suit had a name, but the new ones are a mash of two outfits. Will they be called OX suits? EX suits? XX suits?
  2. The new game in the Ninjago online and mobile series is probably my favorite of the bunch. I love having levels to go through, rather than going through a runner or taking on endless enemy waves. The thing that surprised me the most though, is when the enemy actually blocked my attack and hit back, as that is unusual in a Lego game. Soon, I tried different patterns to try and defeat enemies by using decisive strikes, rather than spamming my katana (spamming will actually make you lose health). But there really seems like there is no right spot to attack, or some timing you need to get right, so I usually end up drop kicking the enemy to save time. If anyone knows how to take on the enemies without losing health, can you share it here? I need to train for the upcoming DLC...
  3. It's been a while since I read that, but I do know it was there. Maybe they went on and off, and they're back writing it? Besides, I don't know how to dig deep on the internet :( I do admit, that Joylon's work looks really good. The backgrounds look amazing (and remind me of 80's black and white manga, like Usagi). But the problem that I have is the figures themselves. The previous books not only bent legs and arms, it also made the minifigures look more fabric than plastic. What I mean is, the ropes and emblems were drawn so that they'd actually pop off the torso. The hoods and belts wooshed in the wind. It made the characters look realistic instead of taking "the lazy way", and that's what I loved about it. Restrictions or not, I myself dislike the new style of the comics. You see prints end at the leg if it's bent too far, there's no side prints, and there are holes on the legs. It takes the charm away from Ninjago, and seperates it from the artstyle it always tries to have, like the poster art, the trading cards, and, for a time, the comics. With such a huge artstyle change, it's no wonder that they announced the new books non-canon. The new books do feature one whole story rather than several interconnected ones, but I felt like several small stories gave more insight into the character, as well as introducing some clever situations, making the ninja feel like detectives (Cole's mission). That's one way to describe it. Zane's part was hilarious.
  4. It came out weeks ago... Actually very surprised at it's gameplay, especially the combat. That's disappointing, they're just collectibles. They're not clever, like the originals. There's no SP or elemental bars to be seen, plus they don't look... Authentic.
  5. IMPOSSIBLE! But really, was there a sale on the first week or something?
  6. I am so sorry.
  7. That was last year. I heard from several sources that they're not writing it. However, that was the original plan. Have you noticed anything different between the novels? I'll tell you. The first difference is the art. The first had a lot of work put into it, and took longer to complete. There was expression everywhere. Every novel past the third book had a new artist. This artist isn't capable of drawing bent minifig legs, and they don't bring the torso and leg prints to life like the previous. The previous artist had pretty much nothing made of Lego, the new on draws as much Lego as possible. The second difference is that the new stories are noticeably different from the first two, despite being written by the same person. If you haven't read the first two novels, then read the fourth, fifth, etc. You will notice these things. Also, did anyone know that Ninjago has manga? I laughed out loud reading it:
  8. It's a little odd, but Cole's real dragon (TV show) is the largest and second longest dragon in the show... So I doubt that the comparson is intentional. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiLubDAiJfLAhUJWSYKHU-DAncQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fninjago.wikia.com%2Fwiki%2FElemental_Earth_Dragon&psig=AFQjCNFhMZ6x-ApP5wXlJHY1Oxc-xWLcVg&ust=1456632315979452
  9. I was thinking, that it would have an extremely similar artstyle to the show, only the movie is rendered in extreme HD quality. In other words, Possession's HD times 5. Oh yeah, it will definitely be good regardless of the artstyle, but I'm skeptical of whether the movie will really be canon. For instance we know Shadow of Ronin isn't canon. Why? Because it wasn't written by the Hagemans? Because it had Lego? I don't know. All Ninjago Papercut comics after the second aren't canon either. The upcoming movie isn't written by the Hageman brothers as well. But to me, it doesn't feel right if they grab events and major lore from the show, but the two artstyles look like polar opposites. Like Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go. It just doesn't feel right.
  10. Ikr, let alone the fact that it was not exactly the best model in the competition... The websirte does not look up to date with the rest of the LEGO branch sites. I hope they really are redesigning it. Yeah, it looks quite nice. For the age level that was allowed to participate. that's the only thing that urks me.
  11. If the movie is canon, then it will likely not be Lego-ized like The Lego Movie. LEE: It’s like seeing The LEGO Movie in a ninja universe. Lie. Ninjago has very little Lego, pretty much the figure model concepts are the only thing the two have in common...
  12. The show's dragon is actually the second largest... Not sure why LEGO did that, but it is cool to have a minidragon and neat figures for around $10 though.
  13. Yeah. From the way things are with their competitions, it looks like there's no way for a build that's actually good to win. Would LEGO be willing to organize teen and adult building competitions and activities if enough people wanted them?
  14. Only on word, and it's superb! I like how you incorporated multiple medium builds in the model.
  15. Well, that was disappointing. Sorry you didn't win. But it was inevitable this would happen. In a contest with kids and adults building, of course the adults would win. They'd have to do something unfair to ensure both groups would leave somewhat happy. In short, you could have won. If LEGO allowed adults to participate. I don't understand why LEGO has not started activities like this for teens and adults though, as both groups are pretty much equal.
  16. Orient Expedition. It looked really nice. I'd like to see either a steampunk area next, or a fantsy island in general (not European fantasy with elves, knights, etc.)
  17. But, if they sold old sets, it would be like giving away artifacts in a museum, or taking down a historical monument. Sure, I don't know if keeping them forever is right as well... Exactly how old are they? Was it a fang spear? The drawing I saw shows Pythor with a green snake staff thing, Nya in a red gi, Wu, and Lloyd...
  18. Other toy-to-life games release starter packs. So it's only fair LD can release paid DLC as well. After all, if they put that much effort into a new story without any money, their work would be bitter. Well, in that new story, I hope we play with a new set of 3 characters. I don't know how this will be, but I would be disappointed if Batman, Wyldstyle and Gandalf are the only story characters again.
  19. They will probably release a "2.0". I hear people saying that LEGO says that won't happen, but that's a bad move from them if they don't. Where's the next piece of the story then? We need to get it somehow. And how people could be doing that is if they make some way for us to get it, whether it's a 2.0 or even just a 2. This new game may (hopefully) come with free variants of characters as well as new ones.
  20. Erm, never really knew what those were. Clarification? Eeeeh, I see... :poke: :poke:
  21. You mean DC referencing Marvel in LB3, and Marvel referencing DC in LMSH? That's just to show fans they know what's up. Indeed there's a long way to go. But honestly, if comic writers themselves are reluctant to make crossovers, than how are games (which are close to rivaling movies) going to do? Maybe I can see it as either company's last resort, but other than that, there's really no other way. I just can't see it happening.
  22. That's strange. I wonder how they got it before the official place started selling them?
  23. Possibility? We had basically no chance when Marvel was free. But now that Disney owns it? Never happening. However, the game could be about Thanos and Darkseid appearing to be the main enemies, but in reality it was actually another pair being the villains (like the Joker and Deadpool). There would be team moves with every major superhero. This includes characters on Nightwing and Daredevil's status. There would be both Gotham and another Marvel hub (a third Manhattan may get boring). And in-gameplay dialogue. Lots of it.
  24. I hated that about LD as well. Aside from the 3 rebuilds, there's really no customizability or creativity anywhere. It's just a Lego game with a toypad. That being said, it's better than other toy games, but it's unsatisfying.
