According to Sariel it's harder than the standard 6.5L shock absorbers. -

Oh yeah, you definitely need to make it solid white if you’re leaving the stickers off. Those shock absorbers look really nice though! Love the little one especially. -

I’m no bike person, but it does look really cool imo. Won’t buy it though. -

Yeah that doesn't seem right. The stand is 13 studs wide, so that's 10.4 cm. The bike itself doesn't seem wider than 11 studs, maybe also 13 at most. We'll see in about 34 minutes -

It really doesn’t. If you have seen the picture, just compare the rear brake disk to the wheel. That’s the same part as in he Ducati. If you look in front a bigger version of that part has also been made. -

Spoiler alert: There are no new pistons in this model. Just the standard 20+ year old engine + pistons. Can’t spot any new gears or gearbox elements either. -

In 1:5 scale it should totally be doable to add a “high/low” range to effectively create a six speed gearbox. I will (im)patiently wait on reviews though. -
It wouldn't make much sense to just make it red. Changing the pin to include friction would make sense in this model so the teeth won't rotate all over the place.

Technic 2022 Set Discussion

There has been a return of classic blue. Blue 3x11 panel in the Ferrari and a few new panels and soft axles in the McLaren Senna. But in my opinion a yellow car would be perfect. I don’t think there has ever been a large scale car in yellow. With all due respect to Artemy Zotov, there is a lot of room for improvement in that model. For example, a gearbox is missing, the body clearly aged, and the drivetrain is flawed due to one axle being geared differently than the other. Also, there have been several great Porsches before LEGO released theirs (Crowkillers comes to mind), and a couple Bugatti Chiron MOCs as well. -

I really doubt they’ll do an R8. To be completely honest, it’s a boring supercar. Compare that to the Bugatti Chiron and Lamborghini Sian, one of the fastest production cars of all time and one of the craziest Lamborghinis ever. If they want to release something to top the Lamborghini, they either have to choose a non VAG car (Koenigsegg, Pagani, McLaren, Ferrari, Corvette etc), or something within VAG that has not yet been revealed. Anyway, toy fairs should start around the end of January, in fact LEGO will be attending the London Toy Fair. That’s where we usually get the first 2H info. https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-is-back-at-the-london-toy-fair-in-2022/ -

This looks cute -
The issue with the front end is the headlights. They are at least a full stud too low. Otherwise I think they did quite well for the scale.

Probably something with a ratcheting mechanism. You pull it back, it doesn't move until you release the catch. On the Porsche the mechanism seems more exposed. The red liftarm at the back must be pushed down and the car will go. -

I hope this is not it for January 2022. The flagship would be the Batmobile, I guess, which already released a few weeks ago in parts of the world. We’re still missing pics of the John Deere, unless it’s cancelled for whatever reason. Also: Exactly a week from now we should get Sariel’s review for the 42130 BMW bike. I hope that’s also a January 2022 set, unlike what’s written in the main post. That would seem like a proper flagship to me. -

None of the sets look appealing to me. I like the new parts and recolors though. 2x5 panel extender in DBG 2x3 panel extender in white new panel similar to #13 and #14 in red and black 3x7 flat panel in white 2x3 panel in lime 1x2 thin liftarm in lime red 1/2 pin, maybe with friction 2x3 panel extension in medium blue 2x3 panel in medium blue bionicle tooth in medium blue bionicle wing in medium blue Might have missed some, this is what I have spotted so far. -
I spot red 1/2 pins. Possibly with friction? Would be useful to keep those teeth aligned.

Impossible LEGO
LvdH replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As usual, it will be intentional, just like the intentionally incorrect gear sequence in the GT3RS I'm pretty sure you can just leave the green connector out without affecting really stability that much. It seems to only exist to keep the turntable in place. But like you said, it's not that difficult to remove it with some proper tools. -

Sariel has published a schedule of sorts, with at least 3 Technic set reviews coming in December. Every uneven date (+ December 24th) a video will be published, but most are still either a surprise or not Technic. So, we'll have something to look forward to. Here's what is certain: December 5th - 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 review December 7th - 42137 Formula E Porsche 99X Electric review December 9th - 42130 BMW M1000 RR K66 review (could also be 42136 John Deere R9, but it looks more like a '0' than a '6') -
[MOC] Ferrari F40 1:10 RC
LvdH replied to paave's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks pretty good. I really like the brickbuilt black line throughout the bodywork. The rear looks spot on. I’m not convinced by the front end and bonnet though. The front somehow looks off. I seems a stud too high. The bonnet’s curve in the real F40 is much more subtle. But then again there’s not really a better solution in this scale. That being said, it’s a great recreation of the F40 -

If you order by phone they’ll let you order parts that aren’t in stock on the website. I ordered like 50 black 19 long soft axles a while ago, which still aren’t in stock on the website. -

You can probably find them for around €1 a piece on LEGO Bricks and Pieces when the set gets released. If you just need those parts, it's probably better value
