Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Yeah I never understand why Lego does double sided heads but makes the both expressions so similar to one another sometimes. -

Yeah same, its a crazy look for a crazy woman. We should’ve known she was going to go off the deep end when she smiled a little while crushing Thanos inside his armor. I saw someone on Flickr use the Dr. Strange legs and they look pretty good. Also, I think it was you who said that you’ll be taking you current Wanda fig and just replacing the torso with the new one, and I 100% agree. I’ll be doing the same. (I would quote the original post but its like 5 pages away now lol) -

Wanda with almost red hair is such a strange MCU choice. Shes always had brown hair in the comics so hopefully the new piece the make with the crown will be in brown. -

This looks awesome. Love the Hyperion arms on Shang Chi and how you added the other rings for Mandarin. Such dynamic posing for both. If I end up getting that set I will surely be doing the same now. -

I think the new Black Widow legs work well for anyone with black legs that need some printing. They're nice and symmetrical and not overly detailed imo. I remember in the beginning of this theme when the Hawkeye legs were the go-to's fur us purist customizers. Then it became the Star Lord/Gamora ones from GOTG with the straps. Now I adore the Black Widow ones. -

He was awesome in his costume with the braided beard at the final battle. But other than that I fully agree with you. That and the mischracterization of Steve Rogers was rather upsetting in Endgame. -

Thor looks very good, but ofc its not really accurate. The way I look at it, this is not an Endgame Thor minifig, its just a Thor minifig. -

It almost looks like pigtails now that I zoom in. You might be right that its just the hairpiece turned to the side. It looks like the front of Thor's hair and then the beard might be a small, skinny piece that goes under the neck -

What do you mean? Ninja'd. But yeah I agree, the bottom of Thor's beard is longer/sharper than the Castaway's. -

That's so upsetting, I've literally seen them once before in my local store before people bought them up and other places like Target never even got them in my area it seemed. I thought the wave was pretty good. Some weird additions like Mr. Miracle, Bumblebee, Stargirl, and Metamorpho but still a strong CMF series. Leagues better than TLBM wave 2 imo. -

I think because the bags are bigger now they can fit the pieces in one bag. But man its only a matter of time until they do that. It would make people buy even more than they do and get even more repeats if they don’t feel the bags. I’m curious to see if Monica will have her mom’s head print so that it doesn’t stay exclusive to the SDCC set. She probably won’t though because she needs the glowing eyes. -

Looks awesome. Are there dual molded red arms like that? I know there are dual molded flesh ones on Hyperion but are there any dark flesh ones with red sleeves? -

Top 3: Falcon (I’ve loved him as Cap since Marvel Now. Hope he looks as good as the SDCC fig) White Vision (he was awesome in the WandaVision finale. I’ll probably build his S.W.O.R.D. pod for him as a vignette) Monica (I’m for some reason overly excited for a possible S.W.O.R.D. print. I’m also very curious to see if she gets a new hairpiece. The current ones haven’t done her justice I feel) Honorable mention: Zombie Cap -

That seems like the most accurate choice since his hair is parted to both sides of his head. I was thinking maybe Gandalf's but in black? I've seen purist comic versions use that version and they look good. Its funny and sad at the same time. Hopefully Lego will continue the Infinity Saga sets and include both figs in one set eventually. -
I know a lot of people saw that she was once Madame Hydra and got hyped, but she was her for so little time that I don't think it'll play that big of a role in the MCU. I've always mainly known her as Nick Fury's love interest and a fellow SHIELD agent or spy. I can see the MCU alluding to her whole history though by making her be a former SHIELD agent turned top HYDRA official maybe or having her former title be Madame Hydra before SHIELD/HYDRA collapsed in Winter Soldier.

I get the distinction and the logic but the argument is still flawed. MCU movies are and have been PG-13. You're comparing spies with a character like Joker and then a mythos like Star Wars and then a company like Marvel. Comparing "spies" with "superheroes" would make more sense. Basing popularity on search terms is tricky for a few reasons. Here, it is mostly bc we're, again, comparing apples to oranges. We're comparing Joker (a search term about a character) to Marvel (a search term about a company). Compare Joker to one of Marvel's characters. Say the face of the MCU: Iron Man. They're matched at 6 more average searches since 2004. In Movies, its 6-4 Iron Man. In comics/animation Joker nearly doubles the searches. In TV/video Joker also leads. In the past 90 days Joker leads in all the aforementioned categories. So he technically is most popular based on this. However, "spiderman" tops both of them and then Batman dwarfs all 3 of them. There are other ways that kids come into contact with popular characters besides movies. Joker is in so many animated properties that are relevant on kids channels (Batman vs TMNT on Nick, JLU, and Scooby-Doo for example). Fortnite also has a Joker skin. He was in Injustice. He's on every notebook, pencil, and bag in stores. I mean sure people want what is popular right now of course. Example: right now Falcon is more searched than Iron Man and therefore more popular based on your working definition. So people want a Falcon set more than an Iron Man one right now. But what does that add to the convo? I feel like your argument is splitting hairs. This is like asking is Venom reaally popular among kids now. He's the archenemy of one of the biggest IPs of all time. The answer is yes. So, Lego should ofc continue to make sets out of one of DC's top 5 characters and top 1 villain because he's popular. -
Beyonder would be a great way to explain it. I feel like its safe to assume that Marvel is going to eventually have a Secret Wars event later down the line, so placing the seeds for that now, the same way they did for Endgame all these years, would be amazing. My only wonder though is if it would be too early to cast someone already?

Hey guys, let's make this page active so we have a place to talk about the new Spider-Man! No reason for the negativity. I hope Lego finds a way to self-reference the old Spider-Man 2 sets in the No Way Home sets, I've always loved when they put easter eggs in the sets. As for the movie itself, I'm very interested to see how/why Doc Ock's story is going to pick up from his sacrifice at the river meanwhile Electro will seemingly be a new version of the character. Also hoping that Disney finally mentions/shows Uncle Ben. It would be really annoying to have a whole Spider-Man trilogy without barely making a reference to him. What do you guys think of the leaks we've gotten so far?

Exactly. The MCU page is out there and yet no one decides to use it. Its was especially annoying before we knew what the Disney+ set was going to be and everyone was discussing their ideas for it and dropping spoilers left and right the day the episodes would come out! Can this be the one place on the internet without spoilers? -

I really like that part, looks straight out his early appearances. But at the same time I understand what you mean. It doesn't really lend itself a modern look and the fully white belt also limits it. It would look a bit weird with Superboy's dual molded flesh arms. But again, really amazing figure and I will 100% try to pick it up. Hopefully its not too expensive after a while. -

Loved him in 80s comics, he was a really cool character. But it seems they went in a new direction and made him a bit of a doofus in recent years. I was going through my figures the other day and I think I have 3 for some reason. But I don't have the HYDRA goon from AoU so that will be awesome to get. I feel like Lego could do that then release the red one in a retail set later on. Or vice-versa. Like how they had Mickey and Minnie variants in the Disney Castle. Of course, they could also do it like Harley Quinn from the Lego Movie 2 D2C or Heath Ledger's Joker from the Tumbler D2C and keep the figure exclusive.
