Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Legocity2713 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Love it. Stands alone and as part of the group. Can picture it in the middle of the train loop with the other buildings along the outside of the track as you get farther from the city. The sign says “Main Street” after all so it makes sense that the area is more built up. This one is up there with the Bakery, re-released Toy Shop, train station, original cottage, and Elf Clubhouse for me. Can also picture a ton of Batman Arkham Origins and Spider-Man pics on Instagram with these builds lol. -

… Its kind of crazy that there’s not even mechs for the theme. You’d think they’d at least make some of the Trinity. -

You already know Spoilery Link #4 is going to be tremendously oversized if Lego makes it. Excited to see how they do some of these. -

Some cool easter eggs in there too. Strange’s watch and X-Ray of his hand (kind of a dark refernecr), a box of Wong’s stuff, photos of main timeline Mordo, a photo of Wong, a photo of Kaecellius (I think), the Smithsonian Cap advertisement that was mentioned by PromoBricks (hopefully a sign that we’ll get that suit one day), the index card with the Shamballa wifi passcode, Strange’s PhD (I think), a brochure to a trip to Nepal (I think), a very Kirby-esque look into another universe, the book that shows Strange how to tap into dark magic and use the time stone by again the apple, the thing Kaecillius was trapped in (its the skeleton piece hanging on the wall), and the Staff of the Living Tribunal (I think) all from what I can see. Some book has a fun little Lego witch/wizard hat on it and a magic wand which is fun. I’m not sure what the newspaper box says but that may be an easter egg too. Also shoutout to Wanda for having some crown printing here. Wasn’t necessary but is so fun :) -

Not sure if that’s Zombie Dr. Strange or if they’re just testing the waters to see if anyone’s interested in another Monster Fighters wave Spidey looks like the best version of that suit (even if the changes are minor). Love that they did some webbing on the toes -

Looking at the pics rn you’re 100% right. If the $500 set is the Avengers Tower (or if they do some more Infinity Saga sets) I can easily see them reusing the head. They nailed his likeness imo. And all the purist customizers who used the same hair for him in the past nailed it as well ;) -

Ooh great idea! That would look fantastic! The Inquisitor’s head might possibly work for Gorr as well, at least for some scenes from the trailer. Plus, with all the generic black and grey sci-fi torsos and legs, this whole set might make for a pretty good Marvel figure parts pack. -

Does anyone think the new helmet would have worked for Whiplash too maybe? His helmet in the movie seemed a little taller and different from Tony’s, plus it opened. Maybe its harder to mold in silver or the printing wouldn’t come out as well? -

Ah fair enough I will say that I do like that they switched the connection where the helmet and the face-plate meet. Thats always been the part that gets loose the fastest (RIP to my original 2012 Mk 6 whose connection got so loose in 2014 that the face-plate completely fell off). Plus the molded lines on the side of the helmet itself look great and provide some nice detail still. -

I refuse to believe that there is a single soul who likes this helmet design more than either of the last 2 designs. If the complaint was size and bulk why are these bigger and bulkier? -

I reorganized the HoA a while ago to make room for the armors from this set only to find that they changed the helmets Was easily the most anticipated set of the year for me. Oh well. Saves me some money. Happy for everyone who likes the new bulky helmets but I can’t be doing this back and forth anymore with the helmet designs. There’s gotta be more productive things for Lego to put their time and money towards than changing the Iron Man helmets for the third time. If the complaints from a minority of fans was that the MCU helmets were too big, why make them wider and bigger? And why make them look so non-Lego? They look like bootleg designs. Or like someone took a Pez dispenser of Iron Man and stuck the top onto a Lego minifiure. I’ve got so many questions but the biggest one is just… why? -

The new Mandalorian head color is great for future Shang Chi releases. I wonder if the critiques people had about that wave influenced them to make this new color. Or maybe it came about naturally from their own process as they realized they don’t have a great “in-between” skin tone. -

Just picked up the Korg pack. Pretty awesome that the value here is on par or greater with sets from 10+ years ago when figs were $3 each. Only have the Chitauri fig so the rest of them are first timers for me. Thor: liking him a lot. Great, great, great face print. Every Thor figure has honestly been awesome in their own right. Valkyrie: very nice torso but her face print is a little big. Not sure how to explain it but it seems like they “zoomed in” on her face. Still a good figure. Chitauri: probably my least fav design of the 4 Chitauris they’ve done, but I’m loving that purple shield. Miek: strange printing on the face and I’m not a fan of very small and delicate builds like his armor but it looks good all together so I cannot complain here either. Probably will display him without the armor and will have Korg just hold him. I think the flower petal pieces are a great move for his body. Korg: the reason I got this set. I expected to not like him much and thought that his headpiece would make him look too much like Toad from Super Mario but I actually think he’s great. The face and head probably still should have been one mold because those gray rock lines just make him look old or the headpiece should’ve been molded smaller/tighter but he still looks good and recognizable. More on par with his comic book look tbh. Will display him with his mouth closed face print because the open one looks a little too silly. Overall, a very nice pack and I hope to see more like it. I’ve always loved these types of sets. Its crazy how fast they’ve been selling out online so be sure to check Lego stores. -

Closest thing I could find from Google searches that resembles this creature is Loki The All Butcher. But this looks like some strange plant monster and it doesn’t have his helmet. Also fun fact - this is the first time since the Avengers wave in 2012 that an MCU $20 set doesn’t have a single exclusive figure (the mk 6 came in a polybag after in 2013, Hawkeye came in the Hulk set that wave, and Loki came in the most expensive Avengers set that wave + a Juniors set later on (kind of)). -

That will forever be the Mickey Rourke emoji for me I was just thinking about how much we were missing Vanko as a figure. Also, idc what anyone says - Whiplash was Zemo before Zemo in these movies. They definitely flopped on how they portrayed him (could have been so much more menacing, had more fleshed out ideas, more screen time to show who he really is, etc.) and I hated his character walking out of theaters, but in the last few years I’ve come around and realized he was a pretty decent villain for a sequel movie and at the very least was a fun one.
