  1. Wanna talk obscure characters? How many people noticed Apache Chief and Black Vulcan cameo in the Justice League shot?
  2. Well... Now I want a Lego Butt-Mobile set
  3. Is that a micro-figure (the ones from the Lego Games theme) inside the Milano?
  4. Huh, You're right. Pretty cool that it isn't a complete rehash I suppose. :)
  5. Luckily the ones I want are looking like they have the sharpest, cleanest printing of them all: Gordon, Harley, and Red Hood. Red Hood's minifigure head paired with his tux printing looks phenomenal! What a great figure altogether!
  6. I was scrolling through the forum and just saw this. I love it!
  7. That's my favorite Harley version that they've shown for the movie; it's so reminiscent of the Arkham video game series!
  8. So that was fast, MBL_Designs on Instagram already made a pair of Vulture wings. They look pretty thick to me at some spots but still cool. Will be nice to compare these with Lego's official version when the sets release.
  9. Lol yeah, thats most of what I buy. I had no idea there was a thread for this type of thing, thanks. :) Yeah no problem at all. I was looking for a thread like this on Google but I couldn't find it. :)
  10. With the year of 2016 wrapping up pretty soon I'm curious, what are you guys' favorite sets now that we're looking back on the year? You can name top 5, top 10, even top 27 if you're having a hard time choosing. Feel free to name the honorable mentions too if you're up to it. Don't have the set but it still looks good? Put it on the list, no harm in that. Got the new Lego City and Lego Batman Movie sets a few days ago and want to put them on the list? Feel free, they're some great looking ones. Polybags and CMFs are your favorite sets of the year? Put them on the list too! There are no restrictions! Might as well go first For me my top 5 of the year are (no particular order really after the first one) - 1. 76047 Black Panther Pursuit: such a great build for the price. Some great pieces and techniques making for an awesome and sleek looking jet and a really cool jeep too. The figures just put it above and beyond, especially Winter Soldier! Pleasantly surprised by this great looking set, probably my favorite if I had to really pick. :) 2. 76050 Crossbones' Hazard Heist: not too great of a build in the sense that it does not have any great "display-ability" but structural support, "play-ability" and the figures more than make up for that. You get the phenomenal albeit 2015 version Black Widow, a really well detailed rendition of Falcon, and a great looking Crossbones figure all in a cheap set. And although the latter two don't have any leg printing that was a pretty easy fix. 3. 75132 First Order Battle Pack: Yeah, its a small one but a good one. The Stormtroopers are easily the best figures in the set and are my favorite rendition of Stormtroopers; they just translate so well from Episode VII to Lego. The Crew Member is really cool looking with his hat with the First Order insignia and the Technician is just "meh" with his oversized helmet. The shooter build is actually also very well crafted while still being compact. I thought this was just going to be a figure pack but it ended up being so much more. 4. 76060 Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum: So great! The figures are some of the most detailed of the year and the overall build captures the setting in the comics and the movie so well. While I have since modified it to suit my space needs it is still a very awesome set. 5. 76046 Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle: While don't have this one I think it looks so good. The shaping and coloring of the Batwing is really impressive and so is that special cockpit piece; and the helicopter is a fresh take on the usual lego helicopters that we get. The figures, especially Wonder Woman, are essentially just a bonus in my eyes when the set looks this good. Honorable Mention - 60118 Garbage Truck: Don't have this one either but judging from the pics and the reviews, it is one of the best City sets of the year and it just looks so complete, something you can't say for every City set out there. So that is my list, whats yours? :)
  11. I think its really just that the whole Arkham video game universe has gotten to me. To me those are the definitive versions of the characters so I prefer a more aged Hugo Strange. Maybe not even aged but more "stressed" I suppose to the point where is does have wrinkles to go with the gray hair. Y'know someone who is cold and ruthless because of the years of experience he has under his belt while in Gotham: studying, training, watching the Bat from afar before finally going in for the kill; not some spring chicken tackling Bruce just for the heck of it. But anyway, as far as the torso goes, I think that an Arkham "A" would make the print stand out even if it is just on the name tag and also maybe a strap on his Doctor's scrubs would look good with some button detailing. I mean especially compared in this series where everyone is just so detailed with new molds, high quality prints and such he just looks too plain. You cannot have a white and black minifigure without any special printing and expect it to stand out personally. Even Dr. Hibbert in the Simpsons CMF wave 2 got more printing. Anyway, I only care so much because if we get Hugo as a minifigure I don't want it to look like he has been cheaped out on. Just my 2 cents of course though.
  12. I thought the Abilisk looks more like the monster in the Dr. Strange set than anything in the Dr. Strange movie itself so we could modify it and use that. But if we do get one in a set they could also double as Rathars from Star Wars Episode 7 lol.
  13. Been meaning to ask this, the new Red Hood figure from the Lego Batman Movie CMF line has the Jason Todd styled Red Hood head underneath the domed helmet so I'm using it to make a real Jason Todd minifigure. Any ideas for the torso besides the official one from this year's Killer Croc set? I was thinking Extremis Soldier's from Iron Man 3 or the New 52 Batman fig's but I'm not 100% sure.
  14. The Two-Face fig looks better in that suit than the version in the jumpsuit. Really liking that poster version. Hugo Strange isn't that great... I think he looks too young and that torso too plain. Mutant Leader is nice though. Hits all the marks on accuracy and good looks that it should. This poster makes me excited for future sets.
  15. Wow, the Ms. marvel set has 160 pieces which means it is $20... I may have to pick it up now. I thought it was $30 at first like the Black panther set. That set was worth it for $30, this one would not be. Anyway, this is great news for me. Now the Detroit Steel for $40... eh, not too keen on that. Hulk buster for $30? Absolutely! But this for $40, not too sure. Definitely want Lola and Coulson (and Iron Man to a lesser extent) but not worth it at full price.
  16. Official Arctic Roller pic ^
  17. Rancor Croc is great, one of the best Crocs we've gotten and thats the best look at Scarecrow's head yet. Its perfect! Also, looking at Kevin Hinkle's Instagram post I am really liking that Clayface build significantly more. I think the size works now, and thats saying a lot because I was one of the biggest opponents when the set was first revealed. Still not sure if I want to get it at full price but maybe on a sale.
  18. Where is that information from?
  19. Don't worry, you guys'll survive.
  20. Excited to partner up my purist Tanaleer Tivan figure with the upcoming Collector figure. The two best elders of the Universe! Everything else sounds awesome as well, looking forward to Gladiator Hulk the most. Hoping that the Gladiator Ring build will look decent enough to display, if not then I'll end up MODing/MOCing because that sounds like an iconic scene from the movie already.
  21. The rubber duck floatation device is so well molded. I mean to make something look so much like rubber as it is in real life with the ridges and everything but its really all plastic takes a lot of skill. I expect to see the mold used in other places like Lego City pool sets or something. Maybe a set similar to fun in the park but at the beach instead? Or a Juniors set?
  22. I was preparing to make a custom a few weeks ago, I told myself to wait until at least January and I'm so glad I did. With this figure I feel like the darker skin adds more to the character instead of detracting like we thought it would when the other variant was revealed.
  23. ^Those were shown on Facebook before the Brickfan. Thanks for putting them in the thread though. EDIT: just noticed civillian Robin has little robins (birds) on his shirt. Thats so cute :)
  24. Just want to point out that Nurse Harley has the same face as that awesome Harley with the skirt from the NYCC banner. I still hope we get that version one day.
