  1. Thanks again for all the kind words and helpful criticism everyone! This is my first miniature, so it's really nice to hear everything you have to say! I'm still not sure about that gap myself, I've been working on trying to find ways to fill it in/avoid it altogether. Glad you liked it anyways!
  2. Updated to LDD 4 Here's one that I always thought was a fun little set. 5936 Spider's Secret Theme: Adventures Download the LXF! This set is totally jam packed with tools and critters and fun stuff, even an axe trap! As for the LDD model, the windshield on the car is missing (I tried to find an alternative but none looked right), Senor` Palomar has the wrong hat, and LDD didn't have a Sun Disk so I put together a little 2-part alternative. Couldn't have a temple without a treasure now! Also, the gauges panel in the car wouldn't fit where it should. I'll upload a pic and post it in the glitches topic if you want, it's only in LU though so I don't know if it's necessary. LDD4 Fix Note: Gave Senor` Palomar the correct hat, poorly modeled as it is. Otherwise, a TON of pieces are missing their decals. I made substitutions where applicable but there's a couple that just had to stay blank. I was also going to upload a 5928 Bi-Wing Baron, but saw that Calabar had already beaten me to it (And managed to get the engine's bricks in place! Wow! Good job!), so I'll leave mine on my computer. One thing of note there is that I noticed that the wrong engine piece was used, it wants the piece with that little rim on the back and the file's got the new smooth one.
  3. If is any indication, it looks like the wheels/motor setup provides a superb level of control and steering options. It's pretty amazing to watch, too.
  4. Thank you! I went ahead and fixed it (And copied your decorations too They were too nice to leave out while I was in there!) With the decorations though I guess it's generally more a matter of preference which are included, at the end of the day no matter what we choose to do chances are high they're going to be wrong anyhow. There's so few of them!
  5. Well this was an unexpected turn of events! I'll go in and fix the colours, though other than the lightsaber blade you mentioned I haven't a clue what could be wrong! I didn't mean to, I swear! I'm generally a bit choosy with what decorations I use, I didn't see any that I thought looked "right" on the figs so I left them plain, but I felt it important to note which bricks were control panels. But ADHO15 found some good minifig decorations that I somehow missed! Oops!
  6. Updated to LDD 4 Got a few more. I'm surprised how many of the classic Star Wars sets were missing from the index. 7128 Speeder Bikes --Theme: Star Wars Upgraded to LDD4! Download the LXF! The faces are different, and the prongs one the front of the bikes had to be switched out since they don't exist. I used Lightsaber hilts instead because they're about the same length. I do feel it worth noting that in the instructions, though it's hard to tell, the baseplate the tree is on IS supposed to be a slightly lighter shade of green (And I can confirm it was that way in the set, as well), so it being that way in the LXF is accurate. LDD4 Change Note: The Biker Scout's helmets have been changed to the correct ones. 7130 Snowspeeder --Theme: Star Wars Works with LDD4 Download the LXF! There's nothing out of place or missing here, aside from some prints which I just substituted similar ones for. 7134 A-Wing Fighter --Theme: Star Wars Works with LDD4 Download the LXF! I had to replace the notched wing plates on the front with the newer version, functionally it's about the same thing but visually it's a little different; but not too much to worry about. As well, I couldn't fine the circle plate with a hoop on it that's supposed to go on that white storage container. Disregard that, found the part and updated picture/LXF accordingly.
  7. Here's the problems I ran into trying to build 10175 (As posted in this topic/post). In the set, you have to clip those together to hold the covers for the wing struts in place, but in LDD they won't snap. What's interesting is that if you turn the blue piece upside-down (With the setup in the picture), the bar on the end can rest naturally inside the clips. It still won't connect, but it obviously can/does fit. These two are more understandable, but I'll post them anyways to help explain what's not right in the 10175 file. In the set, you're supposed to have the red brick all the way in (like the blue one is), but it won't do so. They seemed to fit together just fine putting the physical set together, but there's probably a minor offset that's bugging LDD. I'm pretty sure this sort of thing has been gone over, they don't like studs in Technic holes. I'm not really sure it counts as a bug. Now here's one I know is a glitch for sure, found building 7180. The red part will not rotate past this point. Funny thing is, the other end of the blue brick does NOT have the same problem, I could get full motion over there. EDIT: Whoops, forgot another 10175 one. The red part connects just fine, and will stay, but when you load the file it will say it was placed incorrectly and remove it. The bley assemply it's in had to be "tricked" there because of the technic stud height difference, but it's weird that the jumper plate is the only one of them removed for being placed "wrong", and the slopes/cone get to stay.
  8. I would love to, I actually just got all the pictures ready. But... brickshelf isn't working right for me for some reason, and even though my pictures and links in this thread work I can't see anything in my folders on brickshelf, even if I upload something new. I'll try again later to see if it's working better, if not, I'll have to find another solution! ...if only I could build one with bricks. EDIT: I set up a photobucket and uploaded the images. I made a post here going over the problems. The two I didn't cover (The technic box not letting the dome connect, and the wings not wanting to connect) were just caused by the studs not lining up with as much lenience in LDD as they really can, I'm pretty sure.
  9. Updated to LDD 4 Sort of on a spree I guess (What can I say? This is fun!), got two more. This time, Star Wars! First up I've got the: 7180 B-Wing at Rebel Control Center Theme: Star Wars Works with LDD4 Download the LXF! Went together 100% flawless. A couple of the tiles don't get their pattern and the mini-figs are missing their proper print as well. Only thing of note is a rotation glitch on the front of the vehicle. It seems the piece at the end of the arm can't rotate as much as it should. I don't know if that one's been reported yet. And last, but not least: 10175 Vader's TIE Advanced Theme: Star Wars UCS Upgraded to LDD4! Download the LXF! Now this one had some problems. The least of which, I couldn't get the wings to connect. In the file I've spaced them as close as I could so it looks mostly right, since they won't connect. The inverted dome on the back of the cockpit caused a good deal of the rest of the problems. The supports that were suppose to hold on a bley flag won't fit where they're supposed to - and looking at my physical model it doesn't look like they connect entirely anyways. I just slightly swapped the order of the stack and it worked. The inverted dome also wouldn't fit with the technic box at the bottom, the studs caused a slight height different that LDD didn't agree with. It's small enough that, like the last one, it works in real life... but the program don't like it. This issue has been repaired! The strut casings wouldn't connect either, I don't think the piece was programmed to fit into the vertical clips as with just the two parts it still wouldn't work. Also, the guns wouldn't fit into their double bearing. (Repaired) And finally, the jumper plates on the wings wouldn't stay. Or rather, they WOULD stay, but upon loading the file they give a "2 Parts have been placed incorrectly and have been removed" message, so I simply placed them at the base of their respective wing. All the pieces are in the file and accounted for, as close to their proper spot as they could be (while still being noticeably removed). I've also grouped the big parts for easier moving around, I'd suggest moving the cockpit/body group in that fashion since the removal of the technic box means the chair won't attach. I had to substitute 8x8 plates for 4 of the grill 8x8 in the wings, but that's it for actual substitutions. (Repaired) That's it for now!
  10. Thank you! I've actually been toying with a couple alterations, and have a couple new pictures. I think it's probably more detail-accurate now but I'm really not sure how I feel about the wing gap. I really love Macro Mode on my camera =D The wing gap is a little large, but having them slightly rotated like that let me put in some hands for stabilizer fins. They're a little off the shape and size I need but I think a close detail is probably better than a skipped detail, huh? The whole ship is a wee bit bent in this picture, from trying to handle it and the camera at the same time. Even still, the shape is closer to the original... I think the head-on is where the new fins look the best... but it also shows what I think as the biggest flaw with it (the reliance on the stand to hold the wings) Anyways, that's the last of my new pictures. It's certainly a bit more technical now but I'm pretty happy with it. Again, comments/criticism/suggestions are welcome and looked forward to!
  11. Updated to LDD 4 Thank you! With that, I think I'll use this post to submit... 4970 Chrome Crusher - Theme: Rock Raiders Download the LXF! It's built as absolutely close to set specifications as LDD would allow, although I had to use 5 custom parts (All of which can be seen and detailed in This Post). There were no tubes of the proper length so I put a 2-long tube segment at each attach point. All the custom pieces no doubt seriously increased the part count, but the shape is pretty darn close. Also, I made sure to use the proper old greys and old brown so colour accuracy is set. LDD4 Fix: Chain has been attached in it's proper place. I actually have all the other Rock Raider sets built and finished as well... but I'm going to wait until LDD4 on those, just in case a couple of the parts I had to custom are actually included. I'd rather not have to re-post and bother you all with going through all those!
  12. Here's a bunch of Rock Raiders parts. If you click the thumbnails of my parts it will link to the full size picture if you would like to see more detail. :) 30295 Car Base 12 x 18 x 1 & 1/3 I built this replacement: The only functional difference is that I needed to use those smooth slider plates on the bottom to keep the sloped plates in place. Download the LXF! 71612cx1 Cone 4 x 4 x 7 Drill with OldGray Axle Connection I built this replacement: Big difference here, as I added a Technic Half-Clip to the previously open side. It wouldn't connect recieving a clip in LDD so I had to alter it - can be easily removed if you wish. Download the LXF! 30346c01 Electric Light Brick 4 x 12 x 2 Complete Assembly I build this replacement: Obviously it doesn't light up, and it's height is 1/3 a brick taller than the original. This was so that it could still be attached to flat surfaces without having to remove portions of the lower sloped sections. I'm not sure I like how bulgy the front is, but it was the best way I'd found to get the proper stud-out connection and keep the rail on the left side. This piece was a bundle of compromise. Download the LXF! 30299 Cockpit 10 x 14 x 2 & 2/3 30298 Windscreen 10 x 14 x 2 & 2/3 Roll Cage I built this (somewhat) combined replacement: This was the biggest pain as far as custom parts went. As far as the 30298 Windscreen part it alone is ALMOST an entirely independant piece, minus the two struts attached to the 30299 custom. The 30299 custom itself has mostly the same amount of functional space inside (To my knowledge anyhow), and can seat mini-figs in configuration with ALL rock raider sets so far. It also has the lower three stud sections of the left and right wall, as well as the rear attach points for the part. (Although thanks to the awkward measures they're not a continuous object. Sorry if I should have split these two pieces into separate files, both the replacements and the originals seemed co-dependent enough that this would be alright. Download the LXF! Sorry for that long list! XD I wanted to build the Chrome Crusher and ran into all these. Please let me know if -anything- in this post (or even parts) structure needs fixed/changed, and I will do so. :)
  13. Thank you! I'll continue to do so! Thank you! I've been a bit concerned that that approach would exaggerate the gap between the wing and the body a bit too much, but it's still worth a shot and I'll give it a shot and see how it looks! To be honest there's a lot more details I'd like to include (And a couple I'd love to fix ), but I don't see any way... which is why suggestions like this are nice to hear!
  14. Hello everyone! This is my first MOC I've posted here or elsewhere, for that matter. Today I have a Miniature F-302 from the TV series Stargate: SG-1. I only have a handful of pictures, but can easily take more if you would like. EDIT NOTE: There is a altered/updated version in this post down below. The F-302 is a multi role fighter developed by the Tauri (Humans of Earth) based off of alien technology. It's capable of flight in atmosphere and vacuum, and utilizes inertial dampeners. The 302 has multiple engines, the two jets on the side, the rocket in the rear center, as well as a pair of Aerospike engines. The three most prominent engines of the 302 In addition to this, the F-302 also has a hyperdrive; although thanks to the unstable power source it can only make short and uncontrolled jumps. The 302 is armed with a pair of rail guns and generally has a few AIM-120_AMRAAM missiles along the bottoms of the wings, though thanks to the scale I couldn't find a way to include these. I tried my best to capture the large, swooping wing shape. A few compromises had to be made with the scale but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I couldn't find any way to attach the wings other than using the stand like I did. Here's a picture of the ship for comparison, if you so wish. And here's the Brickshelf Folder with some more pictures If anyone's got suggestions that would be cool. Criticism and comments are very welcome! Oh! And I can answer any questions too... though with a model this small I'm sure there's not many mysteries to it.
  15. Haha, looks like I'll have to! He's sure going to have some strange posture.
  16. Well, it's more than just a rotation thing. I can't get it to connect right at all here. As a more precise explanation, I need it to be where the red bars are, but it doesn't connect. I tried attaching it to the black cross axle hoping it would snap into place on the blue part, but it's insistent. Sorry if this is what you were talking about. >.< It seemed what you suggested was to get the part along the bent beam, when I need to to keep going straight.
  17. I ran across this error while building the 8001 Technic Battle Droid. The red piece refuses to rotate in between those two angles, and won't connect in that zone either.
  18. Whoopsies, sorry about that! I replaced it with the proper size. I do have a question and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but, I have built several older sets which are entirely accurate... minus a couple parts that weren't in LDD. I know it's not a big deal but since some of these were larger or important (Such as the cabin pieces of the Rock Raiders sets and the Insectoid Legs) I just built substitutes. Would those still be alright to post in, or no? I'm not sure what the border there would be.
  19. Updated to LDD 4 Hi everyone, here's my first contribution. 8671 Ferrari 430 Spider 1:17 The LXF File Not much to note here. I couldn't find the 5-prong hubcaps so those have been omitted, and the engine hood in the back won't quite close all the way thanks to what seems like a clipping error. I tried just building flat off the hinge and the pieces still wouldn't go over the tile, so I think there's a height discrepancy. It's a pretty fun build, but the lack of real doors is a bit disappointing and it doesn't look as good without the stickers on it.
  20. Hello folks, Daedalus304 here (But I go by Chris just as well). I found the forum while browsing around looking for more information on LDD a couple months ago and have lurked a little on and off for a while; I really like what I've seen of the community and the opportunity to see and interact with so many amazing builders was a draw I could not avoid. I've got a pretty wide variety of interests, but two of my favorite things are LEGOs and Stargate. I've always been a pretty big fan of the Raiders... Rock Raiders, that is (I don't care too much for sports). I've built a lot of models over the years, but recently most of my building has been in LDD as a majority of my bricks are packed away thanks to a couple recent moves. They'll come out eventually though. Anyways, it's good to be here and will be great to meet you guys! See you around, I hope!
