Hey thanks for those pictures! Using just these I was actually able to construct the entire ship (With only minor internal colour errors) in LDD4. Checked it against the instructions today to see how accurate it was, only a couple errors! I think that's a sign of good construction shots! It's a really cool ship, too, hoping I can pick this beauty up on Black Friday.

Ok, here's all my sets posted before I started building them with LDD4. (Starting with the Space Simulation Station all sets were made with 4). 8671 Ferrari 430 Spider 1:17 4970 Chrome Crusher 10175 UCS Vader's TIE Advanced and 7180 B-Wing at Rebel Control Center 7128 Speeder Bikes, 7130 Snowspeeder, and 7134 A-Wing Fighter 5936 Spider's Secret 4920 Rapid Rider and 4910 Hover Scout 5936 Spider's Secret All of these either worked as-is, or were upgraded with fixed errors and new proper pieces.

How did you get the wings to connect? I'm putting the last couple bricks in place on this very model and can't get them to connect for the life of me. EDIT: Here it is! 10215 Jedi Starfighter - Theme: Starwars Download the LXF! Only two build errors to report here, one being that the wings won't connect. I'm assuming the the physical model takes advantage of some slight bending leeway with it's wings (Or it could just be LDD's collision detection is a little choppy with it here). The other error is that with the inverted slope at the rear of the cockpit, the Transparent Brown windshield piece will not go into place.

Ok, after all the colour mis-matches I went back through ALL my upload sets and cross-referenced the colours with the peeron charts. They should be all be accurate now, finally. Apologies for it taking so long. Most of the pictures have been updated as well (And all of them are now compliant with the topic rules). So, with the fixing/edits behind finally (Hopefully ), Here's another Rock Raiders set. 4940 Granite Grinder - Theme: Rock Raiders Download the LXF! No construction errors, the missing parts have had my custom substitutes of very similar dimensions placed instead. If you take them out everything else will still be exactly where and how it belongs. Prints are missing, of course.

How odd. Perhaps the green tint is due to colour reactions with the UV light? That would explain why black lights and other UV lights make it glow greener. I'm finding myself quite curious about this now. Calabar: I went and fixed all my image sizes. Sorry about that mix-up! I mistakenly mis-remembered the proper limit as 612, not 512. I've fixed the Space Simulation Station and both the Rapid Rider and Hover scout pictures accordingly.

Oh, so I did. I'm going through fixing it right now, but honestly... LDD4's Transparent Flourescent Green is far too yellow. I don't know if that's something to be asked about in the bugs thread, but the "proper" colour just doesn't seem proper at all here. Still though, accuracy is accuracy I suppose so I'll have all the colours fixed and updated momentarily.

Got a bunch of seemingly random themes here tonight! These have all been checked in LDD4 and are just fine. 6773 Alpha Team Helicopter - Theme: Alpha Team Download the LXF! Thanks to LDD4 I could bend the hoses into place properly, the only issues are missing prints and the lack of the correct windshield and it's hinge (Which has been substituted). Oh, and the rope isn't there either. 6919 Planetary Prowler - Theme: Insectoids Download the LXF! This one's a bit of a doozy. It's missing the same windscreen+hinge as the above helicopter, as well as the distinctive Insect Leg pieces. I have built substitute legs for it which are similar in look and dimension, but still a little off. The rear legs are not connected to their shock absorbers because they would not reach. The windows on the sides have been updated to their clicky-hinge counterparts, though they do have slightly different dimensions. As well, the magnet holder for the tail isn't here so it has been left out. 8210 Nitro Bike GTX - Theme: Technic Tech Starter Download the LXF! The windshield is missing, and a lot of old-style parts have been replaced with new ones. The 1/2 Bush with teeth is now without, as are the toothed half-joints for the handlebars. All the modified plates with technic holes on the end have either been omitted (The 4-stud ones) or replaced (the 6-stud). The T-joints holding the front wheels are the new versions as well. 8001 Battle Droid - Theme: Star Wars/Technic Download the LXF! The correct feet are missing and have been left out entirely, the "32307" parts have had substitutes built, and the magnet holders are not here (The magnets are, though). Thanks to a clipping error with the 8-tooth gear, the backpack could not be put on the droid and so I have left it to the side and painted him as a commander droid. The parts to do this were included with the set and I followed the instructions to make sure the file's yellow pieces are accurate. 8000 Pit Droid - Theme: Star Wars/Technic Download the LXF! Like the Battle Droid, the feet are missing and the "32307" part has been substituted. The droid's "eye" is the wrong piece, included to replace the missing one that should be there. The "Technic Connector with Ball Socket" has been updated to the newer version because the old one is gone, and the Technic Liftarms have been replaced with functionally equivalent substitutes. The tubes and flex rod are left on the ground as the cannot be bent, and the flex rod cannot be placed where it belongs. Either a brick error or a LEGO-illegal design, I'm guessing.

I'm not sure if it's just my computer or what, but my hinge tool doesn't seem to like to work as well as the one in 3 did. There have been a few times I tried to rotate something and it flat out won't - even though I couldn't see anything that would prevent it. It may be my computer is too weak to handle the rotation, but a these all rotated just fine for me in LDD3 so I'm not sure what's up... As for brick errors, I found this oddity: The Cowboy hat isn't modelled right, it seems. It doesn't have any actual indent for the fig's head, just the stud on top; so it doesn't cover their head enough. I don't know if this was some later version of the hat, but all my Cowboy hats fit much better and don't look like this underneath.

I went through the thread and updated my set posts. All sets that were correct already have been marked "Works with LDD4!" underneath their set name. The ones that have had changes made have been marked as "Upgraded to LDD 4!" in the same place. For a quick reference, the posts with upgraded sets can be found via these links: 4970 Chrome Crusher Fix: Attached the chain 10175 UCS Vader's TIE Advanced Fix: The guns and the technic box base of the cockpit were able to be moved into placed, fixed a new clipping error that appeared in LDD4 with the top hatch; and a couple more outlined in the post. 7128 Speeder Bikes Fix: Gave them their proper helmets. 5936 Spider's Secret Fix: Gave Senor` Palomar his proper hat. That's it! I'll have quite a few new sets to post very soon after I put their finishing touches on and double check them.

LDD 4 is released!
Daedalus304 replied to Daedalus304's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Just found some new pieces of interest. Looks like some Star Wars fans are going to be very happy. Guess that Storm Trooper helmet before wasn't just an accident then. Edit: Actually, I'm finding a lot more SW parts. Grievous Arm, Clone Pilot Helmet, and the Super Battle Droid rocket arm just to name a couple. Most interesting so far is the "Nute Gunray Hat". We haven't had a fig of him yet have we? maybe this is a sign about a future set...? Edit2: Last edit I swear, just updated the picture with all the SW mini fig parts I've found. Really curious what else there is in there now! -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Daedalus304 replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I know as far as hoping for old bricks go, this is probably a useless toss-in to an already large pile; but I'd really like it if we could get some of the pieces from the Rock Raiders and Insectoids themes. I'm not expecting the extra special stuff like the light bricks - but the Chassis/Cockpit/Rollcage and the Insect legs from their respective themes would be very nice to have. The Mud Guard piece from the RR is in there so I'm a bit confused why the rest are absent. -
Here's a new set, put together using LDD4. Just had to give it a try! 6455 Space Simulation Station - Theme: Space Port As a title note, this set may have had a different name outside the USA. If anyone has more information regarding that let me know and I can edit it into my post alongside this one. Download the LXF! Only a few minor notes here. The gold colour is wrong I'm almost certain, however I don't think the correct gold is there. In the G-Force trainer, there is supposed to be a 6-Long Axle running vertically for stability, however it would not fit into the center stud of the top of the stack so it has been tastefully left behind the building. There are some missing prints, and some have been substituted. The face of the manager, the pressure gauge, and the yellow stripes are all correct however. Also, the piece on the top of the building holding the golden "Insect Eye" radar bubble is new to LDD4 to the best of my knowledge, so chances are it will be removed in LDD3. Any why wouldn't you have 4 yet?

LDD 4 is released!
Daedalus304 replied to Daedalus304's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I do want to note again though, the flex tool is a bit odd to get used to. If you hold it near a stud and wait a second it will actually align on it's own, and even rotate the piece slowly and find the optimal rotation for it. I've even been able to get a tube to wrap around another piece, snake-like. I am really loving it though, it's turned out a lot better than I had been hoping for. Also: Bottom left of the window has a piece count. :D -
I just started up LDD, and it looks like LDD4 is out early. It's downloading right now for me - 120.15 MB too. I didn't see a dedicated discussion thread so I figured I'd make one, I'll probably fill out this post more later after it's finished downloading and I've got a chance to play with it. Kinda excited to see all the new stuff. Ok, I've installed and played with it a wee bit. There's a lot of happy news here. Firstly, the interface is greatly improved. When you choose a tool, all the sub-options become click choices underneath on a mini bar (No more having to open a click menu or scroll thought with Shift+V, for instance). You can now input a precise numerical angle into the hinge tool, which i'm sure we're all excited about. The Flex Tool is sort of weird to get used to at first, but then I realized I was trying too hard. It is deceptively simple to use and the little I played with it was pretty awesome. The Colour Pallete in Universe Mode lists the actual name and number of the colour when you scroll over it (for all of them it seems), which is again pretty great. It also seems that Universe Mode now has every colour, including the old greys, in the pallete itself. There doesn't seem to be any tread support, but all these new features and a bunch of new bricks are entirely amazing. So far this seems to be more than I was hoping for. I'm not going to spoil anything more in this post (Unless you ask me to, that is), because like all things LEGO... You just gotta build with it! I've only played with it a tiny bit so far, so I'm sure we're going to find even more really cool new functions and features. EDIT by ADMIN: changed the topic title

Yeah, when I saw it I just assumed it was supposed to be out now. Didn't realize how early it was. Wonder why they put it out early?
-
Saw this at the LEGO store in the chandler mall in Arizona earlier. Beautiful ship. Didn't check the price tag but I'm sure it's the same as anywhere else. Meaning, too much for me to buy! Someday, JSF, someday...

Updated to LDD 4 Just got a couple this time, two of the smaller Rock Raiders sets. I have all the rest done as well but I'm holding out for LDD4 to see if I can get out of using custom pieces on some of them. Until then, however... 4920 Rapid Rider - Theme: Rock Raiders Works with LDD4 Download the LXF! 4910 Hover Scout - Theme: Rock Raiders Works with LDD4 Download the LXF! Absolutely no errors or part substitutes here minus the missing/replaced decals.

need help rotating road
Daedalus304 replied to alienwar9's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Actually, yes! It's not a plate with a stud, but the 4955 Big Rig uses this technique with 1x2 Grill on the top of the truck without any stud clipping, and even when I replace the grill (I have the set ), the studs on there don't clip either. The piece goes right up TO the stud at the very edge, but it doesn't actually press it. -
I loved all the little easter eggs in Loco, too. Finding those was almost half the fun. I wasn't sure whether or not to even post about the head (especially since the only real purpose was for the alternate print - which doesn't matter so much in LDD because they don't have it anyways!), but figured I'd mention it just in case. Now I'm thinking I should install Loco again... hmm.

The set actually comes with two heads for the guy in yellow, the second head has a red mask over his eyes and that's what the cape is for. Sort of a Super Man-esque costume. I don't think it was anywhere on the box or instructions, but I did check the peeron inventory just to make sure I remembered correctly (I have the set XD) and it confirmed it. The back of the box has a funny picture of him, too, which you can see here, if you so fancy.
