  1. I see some quite marvelous models here! But is it allowed to post one 's creation before the final 10 submissions, or winner are announced?
  2. The video is really well made! You got all the functions very visible, thanks. Good one!
  3. Nice one! Looks good, and has nice functions -in a little space-
  4. I totally agree with Ted here. Awesome site, soooo usefull, fill in the sets and you see what can be build. With pictures, indication on missing items, suggestions and whatnot Great! looks nice too
  5. It looks good. Sadly the LDD file is not correct. It doesnt work when you build it from the instructions. It stalls on the 24t and the three 16t gears. ;)
  6. It is the biggest set sofar (at least has the most parts). In Holland it currently goes for somewhere between 145 and 155 euro 's at most cheap shops.. (125-135 GBP) Might want to check oversea 's.. Maybe you know someone who 's goes to Europe in a short while?
  7. When I read this praise I had a feeling like; "my my, now this person seems a bit too enthusiastic" But then I took a second look at the posters name.. And since it is you, Anio, you have seen and build (!) quite some masterpieces before.. So this car must be something really special indeed!! Is there a parts list available yet? So I know what to get at Bricklink Corrected name to Anio
  8. I am -kind of- in the same situation. I already own a variety of sets, (where the 8043, 8297, 8285 are the bigger ones) and thus own quite a large quantity of -different- parts. So I 've build the 8258, where I only lacked the gear racks 13L. For the steering I could overcome with other solutions, but the outriggers did not function (very well). Well... I was not very taken by it. But maybe this is due to not perfect build? So far I still like the 8043 best.. For its complexity, for its build, for its playability and for the way it looks and operates! Anyway I was wondering what to get next? The 8110 MOG springs in mind 1st, but must I get this now? Is the 8258 the better choice? While typing I think I worked it out: I will get the MOG when I see it for approx. 140 euro again somewhere. And I will try to get the 8258 for about 100 euro, either new or used. (Which can be done for that much or less even).
  9. This is stunning! Looks simple, but it is not. The thing works so nice.. I am very impressed!
  10. For playing with, nothing beats the 8043.. ( the motorized excavator) I will guarantee they will spend hours with it Building it is too much of a challenge for kids though, I think..
  11. Another great piece of engineering there Jurgen! Incredible work on getting all the functions in such a small design  (did not see it at LowLug -yet?-)
  12. I really couldn 't care.. As long as it is as challenging and complex as par example; the 8043, and it has not too many new parts! Why not use the regular parts? There is more than enough to build cool things. Just take a look at the MOCS that are build by some people here!
  13. Very nice re-/overview of the set. Great shots, good text. Clean and simple way to view the set (although mainly for those who have knowledge of the set already) The happy faces at the beginning are a very nice touch! Like happy boys that waited looong for it to become Christmas at last
  14. Great work there Jovel! Really impressive build
  15. Must say; really impressive! BIG things (the crane and tower) and very beautiful things, the bus and viper Keep it up, nice variety
  16. I guess it was standard price. There were no price tags. And as it was quite crowded I didn't bother asking They had about 5 sets left, looked like there were more before because of the empty space on the shelve I don 't know why it was available
  17. Yup, I saw it in the Oberhausen Lego store on Friday the 24th (the other two new trucks too as a matter of fact)
  18. I saw all three models on sale in the Lego shop Oberhausen today. Don't know any prices though..
  19. Impressive!! Shame it isn 't in the competition thuough BTW Aftershock?
  20. Looks nice.. But What is this exactly?
  21. Yes, that is a good one indeed! Say, Efferman, why didn 't you enter with your great crane? THAT one would 've had my vote for sure!
  22. Own the 8285, build the 8258. The 8285 is big and massive. As is the 8258, but appearance isn ´t quite as massive. The TowTruck is really nice with cool functions. But... The 8258 is just a bit more.. shal I say: "designed"? It has more functions, better or more complex technical concepts. So the 8258 is the better choice. But not by a really big margin. It has more and better functions, it is more challenging. And has a Bigger variety in parts. (The exception of course are the pneumatic parts of the "tow-er".) On the other hand, the 8285 functions actually work. It can and will lift things. As opposed to the crane-truck which can only be played with as a kind of demo. Just showing its functions.. And my 8285 has the ´silver´ parts which always seem to find their way to my MOC ´s So there you have it, I too, cannot -really- make up my mind
  23. Those are pics of watercooled flat six porsche engines. This is an example of an aircooled one (the one T-Tank build)
  24. Those are very nice (and very good) creations!
  25. Very nice model! Amazing how you managed to fit all the functions in this one
