On one hand I agree with you, more than half of my collection is sorted and rdy for mocs, on the other hand,,, i'm guilty of still having 41999 mint in box stacked in the back of a cupboard.

What personally would be on the wishlist for me is, a technic-product-line, in which more advanced mechanical systems are mimicked. eg; A Vessel engine drive shaft. Complemented with; Engine Gearbox Controllable Pitch Proppelor ...Just a thought.

Think that's a fair price!

I think it is a good tool to sort ur legos, especially for peeps that have no organizing system yet. Keep it on (Y)

I think LEGO designing is moving to a still will work design for the lowest retail price that wil work. However i can imagine that panels wil not provide all the sturdiness as opposed to bricks.And for those old skool legoers; LEGO is a changing..

Hi, 42009 I did it twice once the original( 2nd copy went to spares), 2nd I started making Jurgens ultimate(ongoing..). Take ur time, when building, to make sure ur gears have no friction when building, I'm sure you can make the outriggers move.

As soon as lego brings out this I'll be buying it.

However there is no doubt there was a slight bit of disappointment at first when I opened the box, it felt like the set was a little over packaged………. Could have been my quote.

I think it's cool to stay within restrictions, as for myselve I'm not as good as many good builders, however I think it is cool to find a third party solution when the options at hand don't give the endsolution and a thirdparty will. It's all about the end product and staying within boundaries as much as possible should IMHO always be persuid especially concerning contest there are the rules. other than than that, It's not called a MOC for nothing.. EDIT; I saw some third party solututions that made 8043 work well..

That's an Impressive build. Especially the scale. This will surely humble other entries.

Been there, swapped the tan gears direction too. To no avail, although I got the outriggers function to work in the proper direction, it seems that the function has too much friction.

Last year I bought 2 42009's.1 to build and one as a spare parts kit. I build the mark II first and I do have to admitt that it wasn't all that exciting plus I couln't get the outrigger function work properly. That said, later on I decided to build the Ultimate 42009 ( http://rebrickable.c...=1&ignore_alt=1 ) which has way more power functions & has the outriggers perform like a charm . Additionally there are a lot of Xtra mods that you can include. Tip; Google the Eurobricks forum and you'll find them. From experience I advise you to go for the ultimate. (the 8421 is still on my bucketlist)
