  1. I agree the buildings should be white or a mix of light colours, but I'd try to mix up the road a little too, in the reference pic the road is tan and light bley (well, that's how I see it) so maybe try to use smaller elements and marble them ... if that makes sense? (this gets pretty part intensive though) Great subject.
  2. So much win here, it's heaps better than the prototype Gorilla Mech we didn't see at Brickvention.... just don't tell Mark Stafford. The head is spot on and it's proportions are great, this'll be the one to beat...and I thought I had a chance. ....
  3. I said I'd enter and with only days to go I decided to come good on my promise. "Put down the carrot dammit, it's not worth it" I had planned to do a lot more but between work and Brickvention I've had to throw this together in a day, and seeing as my collection is in a state of chaos I'm pretty happy with it despite it's short comings.
  4. Hope that helps. Don't forget to go here and introduce yourself.
  5. This should probably be in special forum, but I'll leave that to the staff to deal with if they think it should move. That's a pretty decent view of the front, don't be afraid to use google images for reference pics it'll save you a heap of time. There were floor plans too but they were too big to post here... Good to see you on EB mate, are you planning to post pics of your Brickvention display?
  6. Can't wait Peter, I had a ball, it was good to meet your wife and have a beer together.
  7. I might even have time to enter one last competition, for the glory of Nocturnus! Won't be for a few weeks though, a great deal of my castle pieces are tied up in my display for Brickvention. I'll share some pics when I get back from the convention....... In two weeks.
  8. Nice, but where's all the blood, when they whaled in Tasmania the water would turn the colour of claret, one of the sights was named wine glass bay because the blood stained the water so much. That aside a great and original build, and I think this is the first non star wars based creation I've seen of yours, though I'm sure there is plenty.
  9. Sounds like you need a camera for Christmas. Great little vig, though I feel it's a little too green, you could break it up a bit with dark tan or brown to give a more natural feel. The water fall is terrific, and I love the SOT style trees.
  10. Great build mate, the fact you drew inspiration from other builder takes nothing away from this fantastic castle, the form of this creation is top notch with a great balance between the towers and different coloured sections. Don't discard Nocturnus as a possible guild choice, the vibe of this moc screams dark and sinister. I hope you don't mind I added the extra image to the first post.
  11. Sorry for the bump guys but I had to congratulate de Gothia on a brilliant series of builds, you just keep improving in leaps and bounds. Top stuff mate.
  12. 11 by whataboutlego 2 points 5 by MadAboutLego 1 point I need more points!
  13. Nice review, WhiteFang ! Those roller-skates are going to be a sort-after useful piece.
  14. What a great little car! well done, it'd be cool with-out rubber on the wheels (for drift action). One tiny nit-pick , I think the doors should be rotated 180 degrees, I think it'd flow much better, but that's just me. Top stuff.
  15. Sorry I'm a bit late...... But happy birthday mr Z
  16. Very nice, you can post slightly bigger pictures though, 400x 600 is a good size. Good luck in the competition.
  17. This is turning into a noice series, ISC. Are you heading to Brickvention with these? I'd love to add one of these scenes to your display if you are heading down..... I'm all booked!
  18. I've only done a few exhibitions, but I've never lost anything....that I noticed. Parents are usually pretty good at telling their kids to not touch, and I've even seen a minifig returned by parent with the "this was on the floor" story, but with a guilty looking rug rat in toe. And Si's dodgy activities don't surprise me at all....I knew he was shifty.
  19. I think the idea is to see what can be achieved with the official LEGO movie app, rather than just an animation comp. I don't think it's any different than not being able to use Megablox in a building comp, sure some people have lots of MB and would ask why they can't enter (haves and have nots ). The fact is this is a LEGO site and we use LEGO products in our comps and creations. Yes it's a shame that the app is Mac exclusive at the moment, but thems the breaks. Personally I can't wait to see the entries and maybe have a crack at it myself.
  20. Thanks guys, could you maybe explain a little as to why you think it's a nice build ?
  21. Thanks again guys I didn't even think about the fact that there is more then one song with that title. I was thinking "The Little Rive Band" not "The Equals" but either work I guess. :p Thanks again for the feedback guys it is much appreciated.
  22. Meh. :p Cheers for the feedback guys.
  23. Hahahah! That's perfect!
