  1. It had to be if it was gonna be that more detailed over the previous 2. Although I'm slightly confused about the potion classroom. I wonder how/if that will connect? Although I also wonder what about the other 2 sections (Viaduct entrance and such). It's hard to believe they can include all that in system scale format at half the price as that of the nano scale one (which has the exact same sections). Maybe it's gonna be a 3 in one build or something?
  2. Speaking of which, Brick Clicker just confirmed 76440 to be the Durmstrang Ship and Beauxbatons Carriage :D And 76435 is the Great Hall after all!
  3. I feel like they could get away with simply using the bald hairpiece or even just some printing on the head. Although a new hairpiece could still be used for other things. I mean we already got Bombur, which is basically the same plus a moustache. Assuming that mould is retired (looking at what they did for the Elves) they could easily repurpose the Fat Friar’s hair if they ever want to do Bombur again in the future, just with a printed moustache and without the belly.
  4. Just rumours, nothing official as far as I'm aware. I don't take that stuff too seriously. Same thing happened for the last airbender show in like 2019, and that won't release for another month. I mean it's possible, but I'll take it with a grain of salt.
  5. I mean, the upcoming Hagrid’s Hut technically is the one for the third wave. They skipped a hut remake for the second wave. It'll be a long time before we see the next version as this one will be on the shelves for quite some time, I mean it hasn't even released yet. And if they'll do sets on the show, by the time we'll get a new one it will probably be based on that. But if not, other than dead hbp Aragog, they could also easily put Aragog in the CoS version if they combine it with the forbidden forest. The follow the spiders scene started there after all. I'm sorry, I should've clarified, I expected the show to release around late 2026 (christmas) or 2027. No way they're gonna be able to pull of the 2025 date. Shows like this require a lot of planning as it involves children. They can't age too much between seasons, so if they'll want to do 7 seasons relatively back to back, there's a lot of pre-production that needs to be done. So that 2027 date would totally align with that.
  6. That's a good point, but yikes, really not looking forward to that show. Although it's a good opportunity to get book exclusive characters like Peeves I guess. Other than that, I think I will slowly stop buying the sets by then, unless they're really, really cool. I do wonder how that will work though, as they will have only 1 season to base their sets on. It would probably be far more similar to how they handled the theme in 2001, so basically like all movie tie-in sets, basing it more on concept art and preliminary images, aka less accurate, but that does allow for more creativity. Either way, that would mean that the following 3 years will be our final chance of completing this theme. I hope they really knock it out of the park with the new Hogwarts system. Luckily, we've gotten almost everything we wanted, most major things missing are from GoF and DH, especially some of the homes for the latter, Lovegood House, Shell Cottage, Malfoy Manor. I think 3 years is plenty to get it all, but it also highly depends on the amount of remakes we'll get. Either way, no matter how things turn out, I think it's pretty save to say that Harry Potter is probably the most complete licensed theme yet.
  7. But that's the thing, you're thinking as a collector, I feel like we're forgetting about the "casual" lego fans. When the theme was first brought back in 2018, a lot of fans bought just the Great Hall to put on display and never bothered getting the other sections. It's just that iconic of a location that it could easily work on it's own. They just see the Great Hall and think "Cool, I own Hogwarts Castle." To this day, when I watch non lego youtubers or visit new people I catch them with just that one on display. Or ofcourse just the bigger (or smaller depending how you look at it) nano scale one. And not just with the Great Hall, I also see plenty of people who have just the Clock Tower, or the Chamber of Secrets, or even the Astronomy tower. Granted more so for sections of the 2018 wave rather than the 2021 ones as those didn't work too well on their own. But what I'm trying to say is that the fast majority of lego buyers were never going to collect them all in the first place. Most people aren't completionist and are just happy to get one of them. Most children definitely won't get them all. Just taking myself as an example, I remember eyeing the lego catalog back in the day looking at the big Hogwarts sets (4709 etc), knowing I would probably never get them, but that didn't stop me from getting the smaller ones. To me I still had Hogwarts. As long as lego manages to make every one of these sets work well on their own I think they will do just fine. We can basically already say this for the 2 sections that were revealed so far, the owlery already stands alone, and the boathouse is pretty separate from the rest of the castle anyway, they didn't even bother including it in the previous 2 versions, plus you can easily put it next to either of those and call it a day, just requires a slight modification. I don't think it stops people from buying the creator modular buildings just because they don't have every one of them, nor will people skip the Avengers Tower because they missed out on the Daily Bugle. And sure, the castle sections are ofcourse more connected than those individual buildings, but even here we name them by section, poa fans are more interested in a clock tower, halfblood prince fans in the astronomy tower, etc. Plus the castle changes all the time anyway. The question is, is lego really going to pass on a big, ultra detailed Hogwarts just because not everyone will buy it? Are they just gonna pump out slight variations of basically the same set every couple of years so that in another 10 years we end up with 6 small Great Halls of relatively the same size, but with slight variations and not a single big one for those that are interested in that? Not to mention there already was disappointment in how small the current 2 Hogwarts Castles looked like on display next to diagon alley. I can already see the same reactions when we will inevitably get the Big Burrow set. Hogwarts Mocs all over social media are often getting comments of people wishing lego would put out a set like that or asking whether they could get/buy the instructions to make it themselves. There's clearly a demand for a Hogwarts Castle like that, so I think it's definitely in the range of possibilities, lego has surprised us before.
  8. I really don't think a $200,- Great Hall is too farfetched. It has to stand out from the previous 2 versions, one of which is even still on the shelves. I've already heard of multiple people that they aren't really interested in collecting Hogwarts a third time unless they really step up their game. If people pay more than double that amount for parts of Diagon Alley, I'm sure Hogwarts sections will do just fine as well. And keep in mind we are promised to get "the most detailed LEGO® brick-built Hogwarts™ Castle scene ever". That will probably require a pretty high price tag. If it's gonna be more detailed than the previous versions it will probably come with the rocks underneath (as the boathouse will have to connect somewhere) and a pretty big grand staircase tower. Let alone the interior. I doubt they can do all that for about the same price as the Chamber of Secrets.
  9. I just saw the new friends sets, and I thought that new baby Hedgehog piece could work pretty well for an updated, more fluffy Pygmy Puff
  10. Slight followup. I found only one portrait that's similar to the owl wizard, although the wizard looks different again. But I have a theory. https://www.reddit.com/r/HPHogwartsMystery/s/7jOyL6Gua6 The portrait is also present at multiple locations in the studio tour, although flipped (making it look exactly like the lego one) and this time with a modified face and grey beard. And here's the thing, the wizard in the portrait is actually a copy and paste of a portrait of Ivan the Terrible. So my theory is that the people at Lego copied the pose and setting but took some creative liberties on the wizard himself (I mean there are already 2 versions of the painting right now, a third one isn't too farfetched). Only problem is that this would make him another unnamed wizard. But it does make sense as so far all the portraits seem to be based on ones present in the studio tour, and this is one of the more noticeable ones.
  11. Well, the closest thing I could find is this picture of an unknown sleeping wizard https://pin.it/6K29tw0 which looks a lot like the final portrait, but with the beard recoloured. It's seen in the Studio Tour London version of Dumbledore's office so I assume it was a headteacher at some point. Still absolutely clueless about the other 2.
  12. After taking in the pictures for a while, I'll have to say that I love the look of these sets. Hagrid’s Hut is definitely my favourite. Finally a new Hagrid, and we even get Norbert and Fang. The interior is by far the best one yet. It feels a bit cramped, but that also makes it feel very cozy, it reminds me a lot of the 2011 version. And Hagrid can even use the furniture. Plus the printed mittens are so cute. Only thing that could've been better would be the colour for Fang, but I like this one as well. Either way I see some people not liking the fact they remade the hut, but imo this isn't even a remake of the previous one. It's based on the first 2 movies which had an entirely different build than the one we got from PoA. The owlery and the boathouse are great. I remember people thinking we would never get a boathouse due to the scale compared to the castle, but this is exactly what I was hoping for. It's just right. The angle on the owlery is a little bit awkward looking, but I think it works. And who says that's snow? It might be all covered in owl... well you know. I also feel like both sets compliment last year's sets pretty well, specifically the Owl Post and the Second Task. And while I was hoping for a new McGonagall outfit, it's still very nice to get arm printing on her. I feel like there's no way they can top this figure now, it's perfect. I love how they brought back the many hidden compartments and random animals like spiders and such the theme was known for before the reboot. And that was just what I was missing from the recent sets. Can't wait to see what they'll do for places like the Great Hall and Dumbledore's office in the future. For the remaining sets. The Ford Anglia looks a bit better with the new roof, although it's skipable. The Hedwig is okay, I like the picture of Baby Harry, but not worth buying it for that. The Forest is pretty nice, I don't really need it, but I want it anyway, just to expand my forest. I especially like the glow in the dark elements. This wave feels much more like the pre 2018 sets in spirit than what the 2021-2023 waves did. And finally 14 new collectable portraits. 1 definitely has to be Salazar. Wonder about the remaining 2. Merlin would be my top pick, wish we got him as a card last time, a (sleeping) Dumbledore would be great to get as well. Phineas Black would be an amazing nod to the game, not to mention really fitting for Dumbledore's office. Or even Ariana Dumbledore to go along with the advent calendar from this year. Snape would be fun as well, but less likely.
  13. I can imagine them using the Marshal/Squirrel Villager head mold for the Cubs/Bears as well. I doubt they'll make a new mold for a polybag, especially if the head shape difference is as minor as between those 2 (3).
  14. I don't want the Leviathan to be very big either, just a bit bigger than the previous one, which was laughably small next to a regular helicopter. Preferably just big enough so you can cram a single figure inside rather than on top. But still small enough so you can hang it on the side of the building like the glider/debris and buggy. Like you said, designed to give life to the tower. We'll still get plenty of opportunities in the future for big, highly detailed versions of these vehicles, but this is the only chance to get the ones that will fit on and around the tower.
  15. I for one would love to see a mini quinjet. The Civil War airport battle was always my favourite version. Although it will have to be A LOT smaller to be able to fit nicely. The Slave-1 from cloud city comes to mind. As long as it can fit in at least 1 figure I'm happy. Although I hope the Leviathan is a bit bigger than in the Hulk Helicopter Rescue, that one really didn't look like it would destroy half New York.
  16. They all have holes on top of their head so they can probably add them that way as a new piece. Either way, the sets are very cute, although the lack of figures is a bit disappointing. Then again it's way more than Sonic got initially, let alone Mario (yikes). Speaking of which, I think it's interesting there's a heavy focus on those Mario base plates. They really want you to customise your town. Hopefully this theme will stay long enough to reach its full potential. The K.K. Slider easter egg is also very cute, hopefully he'll become more than a reference soon.
  17. They can still include those places in the interior of the Avengers Tower. I mean they also combined death star 1 and 2 when they gave us that set for Star Wars, they can easily do the same for the Tower. Just the Age of Ultron exterior and the interior filled with references to all movies.
  18. I know it will never happen, but I would love it if the set included homemade suit Spider-Man and Happy. Would also continue the trend of Spidey being in every marvel modular set.
  19. Definitely, if not dollhouse style like Joker Manor and Diagon Alley.
  20. While I also doubt the cmf figures will appear in the sets, that's mostly because of the level of detail. But if the latest disney cmf thought us anything with Tiana, it's that it's still possible, especially in a big set such as the mansion. I still have the picture, but we definitely can't use it as a solid list. They most likely used a picture of a design that was planned around 2014, but long since scrapped, just to give the survey takers a taste of a set like that. You can clearly see them using the figures from that year for the existing characters. And the others are either unprinted or exist of other figures from around that time. Like Sabertooth is 2012 Wolverine with a different hairpiece. Especially Wolverine being the 2014 version is a red flag when they had the 2021 design most definitely ready when the new version was designed. Not to mention the mansion isn't on a par with the recent sets. Very outdated design. And like you said, we now know Gotham changed a lot from those images, the more time there's between leaks and release, the more things change.
  21. I'm so excited for these. Now I kinda want my favourite villagers to show up. Part of me knows chances are small, but it's so easy to reuse those molds. These characters translate so well to lego. Although I was kinda hoping Tom would have a different outfit, but that's just a nitpick. It's just a theory they came up with, I don't think there's a source for that.
  22. Wow, I'm a bit late to this, but I really like the new sets. I hoped the statue of Liberty would be like apocalypseburg, and it is, almost brick for brick, just recoloured, I'm not complaining. The figures are fine as well, Ned, MJ and Strange aren't anything too special, but a nice inclusion either way. I actually really like Green Goblin, the legs really don't bother me, most important thing to me was the face and torso. Doc Ock is also great, only thing that bothers me is the colour and hairpiece, but that's easily fixable. Electro is pretty much perfect, Sandman is... sad, and the Spider-men are good, although I would have wished some leg printing. Either way, overall a good set. The new endgame set would have been amazing if 76192 didn't exist, now I really don't have much need for it.
  23. Arthur Weasley from the Ministry of Magic set.
  24. I think I'm gonna save myself some money this year... Which is a huge shame as I was really looking forward to this set. The 2006 batcave still hasn't been topped. The figures are really a joke, it's the bare minimum, maybe not even that, Max Shreck is entirely made from existing pieces. That Arthur Weasley torso isn't even accurate, and that old Man Marley face has been in a bit too much d2c sets as of lately. Not to mention they also used the old man marley torso for Bruce...
  25. This is such a weird move. They must have it included in the batcave then? Otherwise a batcave without the batmobile would be rather empty.
