Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Looking at the flower witch in the movie, I kinda wished they had given us a recolour of the Fairy Godmother hood piece, that would've worked perfectly. Although I get why they didn't do that. -

Oh wow, we finally have the perfect Snape. I love him. Young Pansy Parkinson is also a nice edition. The Flower witch looks great. Although personally I think I might give her Madam Malkin's hat instead and use the beehive hairpiece in dark grey on Malkin. Idk, maybe not. The new wand pieces are also very interesting. It looks like one is designed specifically to look like the wands the heroes use and the other for the villains. As one looks a lot like Neville's Wand and the other, if recoulered, could work perfectly for both the boney hook wand Voldemort has as the Snake head wand Lucius has. -

I was wondering, are we absolutely sure this is supposed to be professor Vector? Because other than the matching colours, she looks quite different than how she did om screen. Most notably ofcourse the reused hatpiece, which is a far departure from the more elegant one in the movies. But also the clothes don't have those horizontal lines (latest?) that were present in the movie and on her Lego HP Years 1-4 figure. Not to mention that her headpiece appears to be medium tan rather than light nougat if my eyes aren't mistaken. So I was thinking, could she be this unidentified Hogwarts employee instead (who appeared in both the first and the last movie). https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/harrypotter/images/e/e0/MCgeegeeHP1.png/revision/latest?cb=20100707114429 The hat looks a lot closer to what Lego used here. Not to mention it was lego themselves who used that one actress for Vector in their games. I believe she was just an unnamed extra before that. So lego can easily use other background characters and add names to them, if not retcon the ones they did before. -

Hmmmm, pretty underwhelming on the interior side imo. I feel like I'll need to combine all 3 previous sets to get the actual perfect great hall. I mean we finally got the golden owl lectern last time and now we're back to basically nothing. The tables are also boring. At least in 2018 they tried to do 4 tables, last time it was filled with cool wizard food and it could turn into the dueling club, now they are just 2 long and boring ones. The dungeon is also nothing to write home about. Way too many holes. If they removed that "play feature" and just focused on the one design it would've looked miles better. Definitely gonna have to mix it with the house banner, and I think I'll just make my own kitchen for down there. The banners do look nice though, and is that the Philosopher's Stone in the top tower? At least the figures are great, the Troll looks amazing, and the feet are a nice throwback to the original, which I feel wouldn't look too out of place next to this one. The Fat Friar is amazing, fingers crossed for the Bloody Baron with Christmas (although that would be an odd inclusion so I'm not getting my hopes up too much). Vector looks great, although she doesn't look too much like the one from the movies, I feel like Dumbledore's hat and hair combo would've worked better. Speaking of which, Dumbledore looks great, and has arm printing, making him just as good as McGonagall. Quirrell looks way better as well now with the brown robes rather than black and the more nervous looking expression is way more fun than the more generic one from last time. Either way, I was most interested in the exterior on this one in the first place, so I suppose I'll have to be a bit more patient, but it indeed looks like there are stairs to the boathouse (as seen on the image with Quirrell in the courtyard) and the round building appears to be visible as well. The rock formation looks to be a bit flat though, but hopefully it's just on that one side. The Diagon Alley part looks interesting. Ollivanders looks like a squashed version of the D2C one, which is fine. I like the new wands, I suppose they're like attachments or something. I just hope that means we're finally getting a unique Elder Wand as well. Ollivander himself looks amazing, I'm so happy they went back to the brown clothes, as the D2C one has lost all its uniqueness almost immediately, and the one from before that has skyrocketed. Madam Malkin herself looks great, just not what I expected. The robes are perfect, but she looks too young imo, wish the hat mold came with grey hair instead. But I can easily replace that part with something else. Interior however looks a bit meh again. But hopefully it will come with plenty of prints or stickers I can use to make one that fits more into the d2c alley. -

These reveals are usually on a Friday, so I'm gonna guess next Friday is the most likely day for a reveal, if it doesn't get leaked before that. -

I hope not, not for now at least, she's last on my list of ghosts I want. I hope they first complete the four houde ghosts with the Bloody Baron and the Fat Friar before we get any more variations of the ones we already have. -

I'm a bit confused, I get that niebo/nieba can technically mean both sky and heaven, but what has that to do with the Mirror of Erised? Yeah okay if you think very deeply about it maybe, but that's reaching a bit. I feel like "Illusion of Heaven" is very farfetched and way too cryptic as a way for someone to describe the mirror on a site like that, even if the author didn't know about it (or rather especially if they didn’t know about the mirror). They would probably just describe it as a mirror at best or a painting at worst. If not just name the thing by its actual Polish name "Zwierciadło Ain Eingarp" (if I'm not mistaken). Not to mention it's listed right after the floating candles. It makes more sense to name it as part of the different rooms if it were the mirror. In my eyes this could only be interpreted as the enchanted ceiling. -

True, although I'm a bit skeptical after the Ultron and Quicksilver stuff for Marvel turned out to be wrong. -

That's some very exciting news. So it sounds like you can swap out the rooms underneath the Great Hall and replace them with others, very interesting concept. And it appears the advent calendar builds are usable in the Great Hall as well, kinda makes it sound like it's sort of a remake of the 2019 advent Calendar. It would be nice if it was partly based on PoA so we would get both Dumbledores, although probably not. Not to mention I really hope the ghosts are the 2 that are missing (Fat Friar would make most sense for the advent calendar and the Bloody Baron for the Great Hall). Other than that, The Durmstrang Ship has me slightly worried, with it apparently being somewhat small, and the minifigure selection leaving out Barty Crouch Sr. and the lack of extra students. I just hope they mistook him for Fudge, they do wear a similar outfit after all. -

More so with roughly the year prior. 2019 was connected to the 2018 great hall, 2020 was connected to the 2019 clock tower (Yule Ball), 2021 was a bit more ambitious, focused more on Harry's entire journey to Hogwarts in PS, but also working complementary to 2020's Diagon Alley and in a way to 2020's Privet Drive. 2022 was an odd one out, focused on all movies rather than 1, in a way this celebrated the franchise like they did with the anniversary in 2021, but that might be reaching a bit, but what was also new for that year is that it had some slight ties to the Grimmauld Place set that released at the same time. 2023 went back to the old formula, although this time being complementary to the Hogsmeade set from 2 years prior, rather than 1. Maybe because 2022 kinda skipped over 2021, idk. -

Well, the polybag got revealed, it's Draco in the forbidden forest. Definitely the least interesting polybag so far, or at least in a while. Pretty much just an extension to 76432. I was really hoping it would include a random portrait. Oh well. With this being the second part of the forbidden forest in that style, I think it's save to assume we can expect the same thing from the Aragog set. But now I do wonder if that one will simply come with just Harry and maybe Fang. Collect all 3 and you'll get all 4 students. -

You mean like the diagon alley sets? Definitely. Idk about that, there's plenty of visually interesting characters to pull from that both regular and hardcore fans could love. Like others have already mentioned there's Peeves and Professor Binns, which visually would definitely spice up Hogwarts Castle's current roster of inhabitants. Professor Kettleburn from Hogwarts Mystery is another one that jumps to mind. So far all characters that appeared in the books or were at least mentioned. There's also Winky if they find a way to allow for book designs (and even if not, she might have actually had a blink and you miss it background appearance like florean fortescue, if not the concept art), or a couple of cool Goblins like Gnarlak from fantastic beasts or Ranrok from Legacy. But they could also go a different route if they wanted to (or rather if they're allowed to), like using some of the book designs of existing characters. I think most people who read them are very familiar with the design of Dumbledore on the back cover. Could make for an interesting variant, especially when paired with a special printed deluminator. Or even his infamous unknown original edition counterpart. But leaving the books asside, as that's the least likely scenario, give us updated versions of the original pre movie design minifigures from the warner bros illustration guide. Modern looking, light nougat versions of purple robe Dumbledore, Glow in the Dark Snape (ofcourse this one not light nougat). Gryffindor Scarf Hagrid etc. That would really fit with such a celebration. And with Jedi Bob returning, one couldn't help but think of 2001 Peeves. They could also do some of the designs from the wizard cards. Even non Harry Potter fans would be interested in a Merlin figure for example. I mean the big Hogwarts Castle already did it with the founders, this wouldn't be too out of place either. And let's be honest, to non fans of both Star Wars and Harry Potter, many of these already look more interesting than a Young Leia figure, and that didn't stop lego either (even though as a fan I'm definitely interested to get that character.) -

The 2 basically random students are indeed not on my wishlist, we can pretty much make them ourselves with some spare parts. Frank would be funny, but since his only appearance is his death I know we'll never get him. Cedric’s father however is a pretty important missing character imo. My favourite scene in GoF is the return from the third task (it's a horrible moment, but a great scene) and he's a huge part of that scene. Not to mention how important he is to the Cursed Child, he's pretty much the inciting incident. (I hate the story, but I would like to get all the characters from it eventually. So pretty much the missing 19 years later epilogue characters and Amos (not counting Delphini since she is the only one exclusive to the play, and thus one we'll probably never get.) -

That was surprising. The Boathouse and the Sorting Hat already give us most of the figures for a regular PS Great Hall, so everyone's guesses for a Halloween themed one are starting to sound more plausible indeed. Really hope we'll get some new ghost to add to that spooky feeling if that's the case. I DMed them for a bit more clarification about that part and they said "it can be modified to change different scenes from the films." Something like what Joker Manor did by changing out the portraits. I think this is indeed pretty much what we can expect from it. -

Hagrid’s/Sirius Black's motorbike likes to have a word with you. I glossed over this before, but I just did the math and it doesn't really add up. 2018 had 2 sets, 2019 had only 1, 2020 had 2 again, 2021 had 5, one if which a gwp, 2022 had 4, one of which again a gwp, 2023 had 2. We have 3 this year, potentially 4 depending on whether or not the potions classroom connects. That's already above average. Plus it's a bit unfair to compare it to 2021 as that one was heavily focused on rooms rather than the exterior sections like this wave. -

The Egypt Weasley Family vacation photo is the appearance I was thinking of myself. I assume Lego has access to better images of his outfit there. There are apparently also pictures of him in Chamber of Secrets, although probably impossible to see well on screen, I assume one of which is on the Weasley Family Clock. And there's a background character in DH1 that's speculated to be him. Lego probably would know if that's the case. What I also think is interesting is that Charlie in the lego games has a very similar outfit to Hogwarts Mystery, and that was years before that. So maybe there's another source where both games based his appearance on. My thoughts exactly. Definitely better than simply calling him Ivan the Terrible xD. -

That's a great find. Now, I've finally got a name to attach to that portrait (and some high quality images of both versions of the portrait). I was having a look at the source of the info (Potter: The Movie Archives – Volume 6: Hogwarts Castle) to see if the English name might be different, however there he was simply referenced as "unidentified headmaster". Only to find out the name is literally on the frame. Although I'm still slightly sceptical of it being the actual name as Filius Noster is also a term in alchemy, and the other sentence appearing twice on there "so?? is finished when seven are one" (a slight alteration on that famous alchemic sentence), once on the bottom and once on the top, kinda supports that being the case here as well. Although then again, it's still in line with the origin of many names in the Wizarding World. Either way, based on the frame, it's save to assume he's at least associated with the Philosopher's Stone. Probably one of the many failed attempts to make one. I definitely agree. They really don't have an excuse to leave out Charlie. We've gotten blink and you miss it background characters (flower witch soon for example). We've gotten photo exclusive characters (Advent Calendar Sirius Black). So Charlie definitely deserves to be included to complete the family. I mean where else could they put him? -

I think it's somewhat ironic. I remember back in 2017/2018. Before we saw the official pictures, that I was basically petitioning here for the green roofs to stay because of how iconic they were. And all I needed was the Great Hall reveal to do an entire 180. Now I couldn't be happier to see the green roofs go again. Speaking of the old style guide. I remember there being other images from back in the day, specifically for lego apparently, but visually having no connection to lego. They had somewhat the same style as the visual guide, but in 3d (they kinda looked like characters from a game). One noteable thing was that (what appeared to be) Draco had black hair rather than blonde. But I could never find the images again in recent years. Anyone happen to know what I'm talking about? Still, at least it's a pretty big coincidence. There's no official painting anywhere I could find that looks even remotely like it, but this fanmade one hits every mark. Pose, items, clothes, even with (most of) the colours. Still think that's based on the Ivan the Terrible portrait, with some creative liberty by the designer ofcourse. -

Since the first Great Hall in the reboot was based on Philosopher's Stone, and the second one was Chamber of Secrets, what if this one is for Prisoner of Azkaban? With Lupin, Michael Gambon Dumbledore, Bem as an extra student, Dawn French Fat Lady Portrait in the tower. I mean it's nothing too special, unless they throw in a couple of ghosts (which appears to be a theme for the Great Hall, as every version so far, save for 2011 (unless we're counting dementors) has had a ghost included.) But it sounds possible, especially considering which figures would go best with the interior for such a set. -

That would be a nice callback to Peeves in the original set indeed. Although there's ofcourse also the possibility that it's based on Slughorn's class this time around. Oh wow, we already got a figure list for 76439. It comes with Ollivander, Harry, Padma, Madam Malkin, a student in a wheelchair and "The Flower Witch", whoever that may be.
