Yeah, that's a bit of a shame...but on the bright side, the sets kind of look good! Though I continue to look at Pohatu's arm that is visible....it looks like an awkward connexion to his torso...eh...I might be ok with that. After looking at them over and over, I think the Toa are very much the same builds...similar weapon pieces. That's good for me, because I definitely will not be getting all of these guys. Umarak and likely Pohatu/Ketar...maybe Kopaka...I have to see official pics.

Oh trust me, kids like Bionicle. These are action figures they can build and then play with. I actually think these new ones are way funner than most G1 ones, which were awesome back then (I still love Pohatu Nuva's kicking function...never got the original). That's pretty interesting...personally, when I saw the Barraki, I loved them instantly. I have since questioned why it was I liked them so much, but back then, it made me go out and buy all six of them. I now know that they're weird to the extreme, but I've still kept Pridak and Kalmah because I do genuinely like them. I think the most obvious answer to the question of whether kids will like these is that it simply depends on a child's preference. I do not think at all that there is one universal subconscious idea in every kid's brain telling them that this is not as human, therefore I don't like it/want it. Some kids like the weird alien/monster things, like I liked (and still like) Brutaka.

Brutaka is probably one of my favourite if not my favourite Bionicle G1 set...and I missed out on him. To this day, I cannot tell you how much I regretted not being able to buy him in '06 (I was much younger...it wasn't feasible and Brutaka was no longer available anywhere by the time I could get him by myself). Kids like different things, texture could be one of them...who knows? I was never interested in the lines after the Mahri in '07...not until '15 when Bionicle made its glorious return (and I'm an adult now). Part of the reason I like the new Pohatu so much is that his mask does have some of that circular awesomeness of the Olmak.

I don't think they all use friction joints on the ankles....Pohatu definitely doesn't from what I can tell....if they do use those on the ankles, I would be very annoyed. I personally despise friction joints...I just don't like them, they take away a lot from the ability to move the Toa's legs. I can see that the joints are used by all the Toa in order to connect legs to torsos (not a fan) but the ankles would really annoy me. Also, any ideas anyone as to when official pics might come out??? I would assume three months prior to release...which would mean sometime soon! Also, not sure if this was mentioned already, but Lewa's weapons spin around....like helicopter blades. I think that's impractical...but Lewa's already growing on me a little bit. Still hate the lack of keetorange..but ah well. Also, everyone seems to be talking about Lewa's leg design and I'm not particularly clear on why it's a cool design...I can't make it out from the pics at all...could someone clarify how the legs are apparently built please?

That is an objective statement about something you yourself have no right to say anything about. It's also unnecessary. Let them have their opinion regardless of whether it makes sense or not, it hasn't infringed upon your right to have your own opinion.

You know....I'm really interested to see Onua's combo with Terak....I wonder how those paws will fit on top of the basher shoulders on Onua. Lewa is likely to look like a huge insect in his combo, Kopaka's combo looks kinda cool...I'm still not sure about it...Pohatu and Ketar's combo might be super cool...especially if it gives Pohatu bulk as well as a SCORPION TAIL

Hey man, people have different opinions, you won't convince others to believe something else. Just leave it alone, enjoy the sets...or...if you're really against these sets...enjoy your G1 sets....or first wave G2 sets. I for one am interested in Lewa/Onua/Pohatu/Kopaka and their respective creatures...but I want to wait and see the combo models before I choose one of them. Umarak is a must buy for me, I love him.

Bow in the middle looks a lot like Umarak's bow...I don't think it's that impractical. Just oddly shaped. Also, lol this is really pessimistic. https://legioilynx.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/typesofbow.jpg

Hm....I dunno guys....I don't think the technic looks that bad for these guys. Yeah, I'll admit that Umarak has issues with the legs, but keep in mind that he may be an undead hunter....so....skeletal legs. Kopaka.....is interesting....he reminds me of last year's Onua with all the pieces in his chest. I think Gali and Lewa are worse than last year....weird weapons, odd masks, uninteresting design (Gali) and, personally, bland colour scheme for Lewa. I think Tahu is ok....the creatures all are somewhat disappointing...except maybe Terak. I think Onua and Pohatu are the best looking out of the bunch, but Onua may have '15 Pohatu's issue of looking like something's missing (for some though). I dunno. I'm excited for all of them regardless, looking forward to seeing functions/combos....but I would have to say that it is unlikely that I will buy all six like I did last year. Ah....very good point! I would totally like that.

Umarak looks fantastic....as to his gear, I think he may have a swivel function...so it allows you to turn his upper torso left and right and shoot things...oh boy he looks really fun! If you look closely, Tahu's swords have gears on them and it looks like when you turn them, one blade will move forward, while the other moves back, circular motions, almost mimicking stabbing actions. Onua's hammer shoots, Kopaka's gun shoots....although I think he may have a gear function considering all the clutter in his torso. Gali's weapon....looks...like it has a spinning function? Lewa's weapons...don't seem to do anything at all....and Pohatu's staff, while amazing, also doesn't look like it does much. I guess you can flail that rock piece around at figures (which is bloody awesome)...but I have to suspect that these three, although they are the most obscure function wise, may have gear functions for their weapons, whereas Tahu and Onua have different weapon functions, but no gear functions, and Kopaka/Umarak may share the bulk between gears and stud shooters. All in all, it will be interesting to find out what each one of these does. I'm already wanting Umarak, Pohatu...and I'll pick up Ketar just so that I have Pohatu's companion. Ooooh so maybe the creatures are gearboxes and they combine with the Toa, thus forming a complete gear box figure with added function? That is a very, very, very interesting idea.

Actually, I think you may be right about that. Not sure whether the other three have gear functions, as I do not see them having any sort of weapon functions.

100% agree with you...it looks more like Kongu's inika mask if anything Someone has posted leaks of Onua/Tahu and their respective creatures Tahu looks a little bit more like a combo between Vakama's metru/hordika forms....Onua looks pretty cool!

Yeah, they're definitely going for much more evil looks for the villains...lol although, of the old bionicle villains, I thought Takadox was pretty creepy...I also thought Dume..or the concept of him being Makuta Teridax was pretty creepy...I think the darkest Bionicle story line was Metru Nui personally...there was just a lot of doom and gloom in that one..perhaps because it was so relatable to human societal history? I dunno, that's just me. As for the sets, Umarak is amazingly cool....I really may want to pick him up first. Gali looks so much better than the 2015 version...I just prefer this mask to the old one..also like that they will be giving her blue eyes, rather than the standard green ones, and that she will be given another colour (orange returns to blue sets!!!! YES!). Her weapon is a bit odd, I'll admit. But she looks good. Lewa is super disappointing for me...at least from what I've seen. His weapons are impractical, though I can't see exactly what they are, his colour scheme has regressed back into looking bland and boring. I found that to be Gali's biggest issue in my eyes, that her colour scheme was just boring. The two have switched roles for me in this case. His mask does look pretty cool though. Pohatu looks amazing....I cannot even stress how excited I am to be able to buy him along with Umarak first..I really want to see his creature counterpart and buy that one too. His mask looks like an evolved version of his 2015 version, he looks more complete, and his weapon is simply cool! I do hope that they keep the dark orange colours for him...but I wouldn't be significantly bothered if they went dark brown for him...especially because it's so beautifully balanced out with the trans neon green pieces. I am pretty sure his eyes are now blue, which reminds me of Onewa form the Metru-Nui series who also had blue eyes, but a questionably boring brown colour scheme. I really thought the blue eyes on the protector of stone went well with the neon green/dark orange, and it's looking like the same will be the case for Pohatu. I can't wait to see hi-res official pics of all these guys.

I think he's better than Mata Nui because he's more substantial...isn't playing the role of a central deity.
