Heh I don't know. I saw "RIP Johnny Thunder" somewhere in this thread and I got an idea. It's almost Halloween, after all!
-
How about an undead mummified johnny thunder? The instructions could have you place him in a sarcophagus. That would be awesome.

I was tempted to act like I was missing some other pieces, like the horse or owl. But I resisted the temptation. :)

Thanks. Wow, they have a nice web form. This type of thing must happen all the time.

I just got done putting together my 10216 Winter Village Bakery, which I purchased at a local Lego store. But there is a mistake in the parts I got. It just affected the round 1x1 pieces. I didn't get enough trans-red, and didn't get any black ones. I seem to have gotten gray ones and opaque red ones in their place. It's not a huge deal, but it does look a little off. Does anyone have experience with contacting Lego to get missing parts?

[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD
Zeya replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
6239 - Cannon Battle - Theme: Pirates This is a duplicate. This set was first reproduced by AndyC, here: AndyC's Cannon Battle LXF File ERRORS: -Minifigure torsos and heads are approximations. Can't find exact printings. -Soldier's hat is an approximation (can't color/decorate the plume part). -Brick 3068 should have a particular printed pattern on it of a treasure map. The exact pattern does not exist in LDD as of version 4.0. A different but similar printing is used instead.- 5,046 replies

I'm going to be a cowboy. I'm hosting a Halloween party. I've got most of my costume, except I need to find a plaid shirt or something. I've got a hat, tie around mask like lone ranger or zorro, a handkerchief for over the mouth/nose with a skull on it, a pistol, a shotgun that makes smoke, a badge, a bandolier (bullet holder around body)...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Zeya replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same here. From now on I'm going to keep every pouch and every leaflet. I did that for series 2, but for series 1 I threw most packs away. I even keep the clear bags I cut open inside my (box) sets, and the sticker sheets, even though the stickers are removed. I figure if I'm keeping the box anyway... -
The OP should be updated to reflect this. The path for my preferences.ini file was: /Applications/LEGO\ Digital\ Designer.app/Contents/Resources/Assets/preferences.ini Also, that file doesn't have write permissions by default. You have to use chmod on the command line or some text editor apps will let you use the admin password to write it to disk.

Official Lego sets - Book, WIP, Requests
Zeya replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, so sorry... I just discovered LDD. I played around with it a bit, and I would love to recreate an official set, just to familiarize myself. I'd like to do a Pirate set. But I'm worried that LDD may not have all the required bricks. (E.g. treasure chest, parrot, monkey, rigging, sails...) Does LDD mode unlock a fair amount of these bricks? What do you gurus recommend? Maybe I could start off with a relatively simple set like Cannon Battle? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=6239-1 EDIT: I'm well on my way now. There's a ton of bricks. I'm not sure if it was Universe mode, but I see all kinds of stuff including the coins, monkey, etc. -
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?q=bowler+hat There's one for a pig (toy story) and one from Duplo. :) EDIT: And a Duplo derby hat lol: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=dupfig023 But you're right, there aren't any that are really for regular system minifigs.

Don't worry about it. Speculation is about all there is to talk about anyway, right now.

I think it's too early to call the line dead/comatose. The Kingdoms sets hit shelves around May or June of this year. I would expect a full year to pass before a new wave. Since the January/Spring 2011 catalog just leaked, I would assume to see a summer catalog in about 3 months or so. But I'm pretty new to this hobby and that's just my assumption.
-
What? Who said the Kingdoms line is going? I know there has been a bit of leaking going on, but people hardly know what to make of that anyway. They're trying to decipher what is Duplo and what isn't, and it's pretty early on for the summer wholeseller brochures anyway I think.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Zeya replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same here. I've visited 3 Targets, a Walmart, and 2 Toys R Us stores and have yet to see even a trace of any minifig packets. I don't even see empty spaces on the shelves for them. I'm going to be buying boxes from shady local wholesellers for series 3. (Unless they still have barcodes, in which case I'll buy a set 16 unique packs on ebay.) -
One of the user-created options I saw was (paraphrasing, can't remember exact wording): "Bring back classic pirates. Make the quality as good as the Imperial Flagship, and less like Brickbeard's Bounty." I voted that up to my #1 request, even though I didn't like the wording about the second half. I would rather see that option be simply "bring back Pirates"; any more than that is asking too much. My second place vote was for "Make landscape packs with rocks, trees, etc". That is a really awesome idea!

Minifigures Series 2 Box Arrangement & Distribution
Zeya replied to desultor's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Alright, I got my second shipment of 16 minifigures from S@H, for a total of 32 packs. #1 Maraca Man x4 #2 Spartan x2 #3 Ringmaster x1 #4 Witch x0 #5 Vampire x4 #6 Cop x4 #7 Explorer x2 #8 Lifeguard x4 #9 Mime x1 #10 Lifter x1 #11 Pop Star x1 #12 Skiier x4 #13 Disco x3 #14 Karate x2 #15 Surfer x0 #16 Pharaoh x0 So I'm missing: Witch, Surfer, and Pharaoh. But it's cool that I got 2 Trojans. I think I'll try trading on here or bricklink. The only quality issue I noticed is that the explorer I opened had a problem with the hole his right arm fits into. It's like the hole is too big and I can see an opening behind his arm. When I swivel the arm, it's like it "turns too easily", like it's a little loose. I'm thinking about opening up my unopened explorer to see if he is better quality. -
LDD on PC or Mac?
Zeya replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Mac. Edit: Aaand just saw the poll up top. -
If you decode the tablet in that photograph with the Professor, it says: PHARSK AOHSA QUESKE ?HARHSU ('?' is a placeholder, maybe another 'P'?) WHAT CAN IT MEAN???
-
Does this mean that an official announcement (with photos and official set information) will be coming soon?

When I was about 12 years old in the early 90s, a card game called Magic: The Gathering was introduced. Most people have probably heard of it, although I'm not sure how popular it was/is outside of the United States. They sold the cards in packs of about 6-8 or so, almost exactly like baseball cards. You are guaranteed to get one rare, two uncommon, and the rest are commons. When they first introduced the cards, it was an extremely limited run (brand new company with little funding I'm sure). The first run sold out instantly (and are pretty valuable nowadays). Their second run (reprints with different borders to distinguish from the first run) sold out almost as quickly. By the 3rd run and so on, they had production ramped up to more reasonably meet demand. And from there they would introduce new sets of cards periodically, every 6 months or so, but sort of in year-long waves if you know what I mean. I'm sure the same thing will happen with the collectible minifigures. I believe series 3 and later will have larger quantities, as people say. I think Lego was caught off guard at how popular the product would be. Another note: let's be glad that it's one figure per pack, and they're of almost equal rarity (aside from the cherry-picking problem with spartans etc that will subside somewhat after barcodes disappear). Let's be glad we don't have to go buying 3 boxes of the things because one of them is truly super rare. It's possible for that to happen with Magic cards, for example. I'm not saying I'm a huge fan of this marketing strategy in general though; I'd rather be able to buy packets with see-through windows and their own unique product number. I'm just saying "it could easily be much worse".

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Zeya replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes and the funny little red balls on the leg are for points of reference, to tell which angle the leg is at, so they can easily position and orient the computer-generated leg replacement. -
Very nice MOC. I especially like this photo of a guard asleep in the back:

Well maybe their sets change every day on the website link in the original post, because today there's a Star Wars 8098 Clone Turbo Tank for $100, and on S@H it's $120. I've got the link bookmarked so I can check it from time to time.
