  1. Only Winter wave in Portugal (or at least my town). If the last years are anything to go by, we'll only get the small/medium sets around November/December, and I'll have to shop for MM vs SG online.
  2. Nice! And some of your photos descriptions are really hilarious (especially the last one). What about the instruction comics?
  3. They actually aren't, but it's easier to get that notion with humanoids. After all, the target audience is human, and humans are somewhat self-centered (why do you think we see masks faces on inanimate objects?). This too.
  4. I didn't mean "don't make new parts", I meant "see what we had before that worked, and use that as a starting line to make new parts". I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough (and apparently what worked before didn't work very well or isn't appropriate for the intended scale, so feel free to ignore what I said). And I actually like your design, Leewan (except for the lower torso "armor" ).
  5. Yep. By now, the only interesting thing to do is speculate on the summer storyline until something official comes along.
  6. Didn't Pridak and Maxilos have waist articulation? Maybe instead of trying to design new parts completely from scratch, we should see how they did it in the old system and start from there (especially Pridak, who was a medium set).
  7. Me too, but not yet; first I want individual, intelligent villains again. Something like the Exo-Toa would be nice, too.
  8. Yes for more female characters, 7th Toa or not. However, I'm no so sure about changing a previous character's gender; better to just make a new one. Also, I think Legend of Korra is a better example for female leads. But that's beside the point. I'd also like to see more combiners (canon or not; but preferably canon).
  9. Yay for more official news! I also want to re-check something in the official toy descriptions (namely, what they're calling the half-trans/half-old masks; might give a hint about their purpose in-story). On a side-note: remember those "real" combiners between the Protectors and the Toa, the ones labelled Fire and Ice? Have they released the ones for the other elements or not?
  10. OMGTHOSEAREAWESOME!! :wub_drool: Now back on speculation: I would also like to see reboots of other Action Figure themes, like Exo-Force or Knight's Kingdom II. The latter would be especially well done with CCBS, since it would give a better impression of an armor-wearing human (I even had a new idea for the head: a new piece mimicking a chainmail-wearing head, combining the mask attachments from BIONICLE G1 and G2 head pieces; different human faces that would attach like the G1 masks; and helmet visors that would attach like the current masks). And finally, some way to integrate CCBS into LEGO Dimensions (maybe chibi sets like Jangbricks'?).
  11. I'd like something with a transformation or secondary mode, like the Vahki or the Bohrok. And the dino-riders mentioned in the 2015 thread would be cool. Reboots include new ideas, but they also need homages/reiterations (or, as you put it, "rehashes") of iconic concepts from the original, otherwise it's just a new line with the old name slapped on it. Why do you think we had the Toa Mata this year instead of a whole new team? Besides, all the villains and small sets this year were new. I want to to see a few more throwbacks at G1.
  12. For my country/region, we usually get the sets late anyway (except, for some odd and unkown reason , Jurassic World). Man, it would be great if that were official (except the blaster; Gen1 already filled my quota. New gimmick, please! ). Though for Pohatu I think something mimicking a canyon's cliffside might convey stone better, while still keeping the desert theme and differentiating from Earth.
  13. I meant the generic idea of elemental-looking creatures. And frankly, I liked how they looked - except Ice, Rock and Sand, they felt too much like generic warriors. Yeah, that's more likely (and probably better to keep the story simple for now).
  14. I would prefer something more original. Element Lords-style armor would be nice. Man, I wish those and the Baterra had become a set
  15. Yes, but he uses a different tone for each. PoF's is different from the narration voice, so it can't be him. And then one of the villagers listening to the story will accuse him of making things up all along, and decides to search for the MoUP himself. Seriously, though, I actually like that idea, if only because it's more interesting to see a villain reformed than defeated. Then again, a lot of series have played the redemption card already (Transformers:Prime, MLP (frequently), even Ninjago and Legends of Chima), so it might be better to go a different route this time
  16. It's fun to see even the story team actually wanted the webisodes to feel like a story being told by someone else (though in my opinion, they should've added a few cuts to scenes similar to a campfire gathering or G1's stone theatres, just to make that idea clear). Let's hope the summer animations pass that feeling better. As for LOSS, I don't hate him per se, just the wasted potential. I just think he could have been more menacing and a better challenge, even as a starter villain.
  17. ^No, you weren't. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but they fixed the text on the Region of Fire in the site:
  18. Beats me. That never stopped other fictional artificial beings (from LEGO or otherwise).
  19. I suggested that a while back; someone replied the sets would have to be too similar to be viable, and now that I think about it that might be a problem. Still, I hope we see the restored Skull Army in the animation, at least. And I would prefer if they were not actually Masters, but some sort of ancient warrior/guardian species (like the Glatorians in G1, or the Sentinels in Transformers). 2) Given last constraction lines' record, probably not (please let me be wrong !). Still a chance for non-canon instruction comics, though; and a combination os skeletal creatures might be easier to pull off. And the reason they combine is: Grinder, Scorpio and Ekimu were the only ones left out, and there's no way a villain will combine with a hero. Story-wise: I dunno . 3) I hope not! Makuta needs to come with the MoCR or the MoUP (or both!). 4) I think it says "Skull Spider Mask", not "Skull Spider". But you're probably right (and we need a better fight from LOSS) 5) Probably yes (maybe those statues from Pohatu's shrine?). I don't remember seeing any Glatorian with four arms. Or a scorpion Glatorian (Vorox were humanoids with stinger tails). That reminds me of the Ignika. Does that mean Slicer can control Skull Spiders now?
  20. ...Wow. Things must be really slow for bootlegs and knockoffs to be the main source of posts. Whoever wrote that product description must have a really poor grasp of English. And of reality in general.
  21. You obviously never met the Transformers fanbase... Actually, the waist-high scale was an early idea that never got used. Much like the MNR being the size of a continent rather than a planet. As for the scale, my only problem is that it leaves Spherus Magna disproportionately huge. That planet would have to be the size of a gas giant; which, as the name implies, would have to be made of gas and not earth to support so much mass. But then again, it had a fictional sentient substance in its core that could transform things that were destined to transform, so who knows? Now, to give my two cents about Greg: I actually liked his writing back then, and I especially liked how he kept in touch with the fandom, explaining the workings of that universe and incorporating some of their ideas and opinions. And given how many other companies made choices that have been very poorly accepted or outright hated by their fans in recent years *coughcoughOneMoreDaycoughcoughJoker'sskinnedmask-facecoughcough* , I think the latter is a much needed approach (with some moderation to avoid the issues some of you have mentioned, of course). He is, however, human, and therefore not without faults. There were a couple of things I disliked about his writing (the "no-romance" rule and the above-mentioned scale issue, especially), and as my reading standards matured I realised a few other weak points (the ever-growing drama-driven death toll, the lack of planning and the ill-written female characters). Still, I'm not going to let that wash away the enjoyment I had when I first read it, but neither will I deny them with nostalgia-tinted glasses: I'll simply accept it as part of my childhood, with its ups and downs, and hope the new story team pulls it better this time.
  22. Those actually don't look bad. In fact, I think they and Vader are the better of the bunch.
  23. Sorry, I thought no one had posted it here yet. My bad.
  24. Changing the subject; there's a new designer video. This time it's Onua.
