I mean, if you want the calendar, you should spend the money and get it. What do you mean by "help with the modulars"?

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I think one of the main reasons they moved the theme to Juniors is because the ridiculously simple builds are better suited for a younger audience. The original Cars line probably would have been under Juniors as well had it been around.

Well...this is unexpected, to say the least. Welcome back!

Very nice! I think it would be great iif you made additional building and trees to have a more complete "kingdom". Maybe a castle of some sort?

Those are nice ideas, but I don't think Sci is going to see them because he has been banned, unfortunately.

Gave my vote to the Musketeer for his amazing torso. The Alien's head was previously used in Squidman and Squidtron, so he is not as interesting.

I actually remember reading somewhere that Lego was developing a regular Western theme in 2012 when Disney came to them and asked if they could do Lone Ranger sets. Some of the original designs were barely altered, which explains why not all of the sets are faithful to the film. I would bank on a new line in 2019. Possibly an anniversary set such as a D2C next year, like @x105Black mentioned. I think these (here, here, here) have a good chance of being made. They're fairly small, and obviously they have a huge base of support. Keep in mind the first in this series achieved 10,000 supporters in a matter of days a few weeks ago.

Are we getting less "themes"?
BrickJagger replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Addressing the "core themes" comment: I was referring to Lego's old guard of general topics they would consistently return to in some form, i.e. Adventure related, Secret Agent related, etc. Nowadays they seem to promote more big-budget in-house stuff, which I see as a downgrade. -
Are we getting less "themes"?
BrickJagger replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think we're suffering from a lack of the "Core themes", if you will. We don't have any kind of Pirate, Secret Agent, or Exploration related themes, and Space has been gone for almost half a decade. Nexo Knights is the closest thing we have to a traditional Medieval theme, and it's wacky in its own right. For example, let's compare the "Core Themes" now to the "Core Themes" in 2009: 2017: City, Nexo Knights 2009: City, Fantasy Era, Space Police III, Power Miners, Agents, Pirates Huge difference in terms of variety there. The sad truth is that most themes have been swallowed up by behemoth that is DC and Marvel. Those two have likely prevented many in-house themes from being put out thanks to the mass volume of products released from both lines. This year alone there are at least 64 Superhero-related sets, which is 64 more than 2009 saw. Not knocking fans of those themes, as I enjoy the movies myself, but Lego has gone a bit overboard with them since they were brought back in 2012. -
Good work! I like the interior.

The new battle pack is available on US s@h for $12.99. Since only the Knighton one is listed, does that mean we won't get a Stone Monster pack? Strange and disappointing if that's the case. -

Surprisingly, this is the first time I've seen a motorized Fortrex. Great work. -

Ugh. I'm all for equality, but do we really need another female figure pack? The modern day space sets are getting old aswell. -

I hope they chose the Merchant House, it seemed like the only viable one in the batch. -
Like Aanchir said, I think we'll get a new Castle theme in 2019 per the 3-year-cycle rule. I've seen quite a large body of people clamoring for Castle's return over the past year, and considering Castle is more popular than Pirates and *arguably* Space, we'll probably get a long-lasting Castle theme soon. What kind of Castle it will be is what I'm most interested in. Regular, generic stuff like Castle 2013? Village life? Fantasy? Vikings? There really are a lot of possibilities for Lego to explore, considering that last incarnations of each of those subjects will be a decade old.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
BrickJagger replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
NK seems to be selling well, but I've come to terms with next year being the last year of the theme. It can only go so long before it becomes stale, and some people seem to think that it's jumped the shark already. However, I'm not particularly concerned because then we'll get "normal" Castle back, which I am looking forward to. -
Review - 70621 The Vermillion Attack
BrickJagger replied to makoy's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review, Makoy. The set is alright, I like the inclusion of two Vermillion but the lime green plate is garish and the build is nothing special. -
