  1. @Exetrius @Penkid11 Thanks guys. There's a double VIP points coming up on the 15-17th Dec so perhaps I'll get onboard then. I've never bought from the Lego store before because double or even triple point as a "percentage off" isn't all that exciting. Getting something back is better than nothing though and there's bound to be another D2C model I'll want from them in the future. The way D2C is structured is a little confusing because the Snowspeeder and Silent Mary (to name just two) are recent D2C models that I've seen in big retail stores here. Anyway, Ninjago City is a must have for me and I don't buy a lot of sets. Rather than wait around perhaps it's best that I pay full price and grab some points while I'm at it...
  2. Hey guys, a bit OT here (apologies!) but do you think Ninjago City will ever be offered outside of the Lego store? For now it remains "Exclusive" (in Australia at least) and AU$500 is a little more than I'd like to spend. It would be great to pick it up in a dept store one day for 20% off but I fear that may be wishful thinking...
  3. Yes he is mate, have you asked him? See the 4th last post

  5. I'd wait and buy it in the UK tbh. Before you know it you'll be there. The suspense will just make it even more special (I can picture you making all sorts of mistakes trying to build with a good dose of jetlag, hahah)
  6. Thanks mate, I agree it does look very nice however I've decided to concentrate on having larger, but fewer models instead of many smaller ones. I'm trying to keep a minimalist style to my display. It's so easy to go overboard with Lego, and then everything looks like a big mess ;)
  7. Had I been fortunate enough to own 10179 I think I would've done the exact same thing. Onward and upward! :)
  8. Good point about not having another big set to rain on the Falcons parade. If the silhouette is anything to go by, the ISD could quite possibly be one of the two UCS sets for 2018, but perhaps not the next one, you're right. I'd love a new Y-Wing too. I've been holding off Bricklinking one for a while now in the hope that it reappears soon.
  9. I remember reading that it isn't supported anymore. Is LDD the same software that Lego employees use to design sets? https://www.brothers-brick.com/2016/01/21/lego-digital-designer-officially-defunded-and-unsupported-news/
  10. Here are the boxes in question. On the Death Star box I've circled the silhouette of the Millennium Falcon, which we now know to be true. On the Millennium Falcon box there is a silhouette of the Imperial Star Destroyer in the same spot. It's even backlit to make it stand out a little more, just like the MF was. This time though the silhouette isn't on the front of the box like it was with the DS, it's on the side. That's because the new MF box is a completely different style to what we've come to know. It's a much cleaner, classier design, which is appreciated when you're handing over that much money.
  11. Man, I love these progress photos. Combined with Mirkos U-Wing you're motoring along! You forgot to upload a picture of your hands though...
  12. Nice mate! I got it for AU$29 (US$23) and on my island that's a good score
  13. No shit, I've literally spend the past little while looking for a suitable glass top coffee table, and then I realised I don't actually have a good spot to put the said glass coffee table.
  14. This is beautiful! I have a question for you (and for everyone else who builds large dioramas). Do you generally design them in LDD first, or are you just fortunate enough to have thousands and thousands of spare bricks at home?
  15. Indeed we are, haha. The ISD is my favourite ship in the galaxy, I love the angular design and how imposing it is. It's just straight up badass. Followed very closely by the Imperial Shuttle. Actually, it's kinda difficult to pick a favourite out of those two...
  16. I think a good number of folk here would agree with you, myself included. I bloody hope so anyway. They've just given us a new Falcon after 10 years. It's been 15 years since the ISD.
  17. Haha, yeah don't you dare take that hat off! I've always preferred the ISD over the Falcon. It's been 15 years since the launch of 10030 (they've given us a new Falcon after only 10 years) so the timeline says we're well and truly due for a new one :)
  18. Go to Bricklink and type in the names of the minifigs you need. You'll be able to compare the prices of the various renditions very easily. Anakin, first on the list: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=anakin+skywalker&tab=M#T=M
  19. Best idea ever.
  20. That's a great price. We got kicked in the guts in Australia. Here it'll be AU$1300, which is CAN$1290 or US$1040.
  21. I'd buy this thing just for the box, it looks fantastic This won't be a day 1 purchase for me due to lack of sheckles at the moment, which is perfectly fine as it'll give me time to learn how to use Photoshop to alter the receipt before I show my wife, haha!
  22. Disney can quite frankly EAD. It's not as if there are still 2016 versions of the same model on the shelves, for instance a particular snowboard or mountain bike that carries the same name as the upcoming 2017 model. It's ridiculous.
