LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
owlbearsforall replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is that from the September issue? I think it needs to be on my LEGO wall.... -
I was also a little surprised how small it was! It could just be because it is always crowded, but I was expecting, I don't know, something a little more?

So, when I was a child I was obsessed with my LEGO sets. As in, I would build the set, arrange everything perfectly, then just leave them there. It was kind of an obsessive behavior, and I did it with any toy (playmobil, Jurassic Park action figures, Barbies, etc). Even though my parents would try to encourage me to actually play with them, I was more content to just set up massive scenes with everything and just sit and stare at them. I might have had some OCD issues as a child... But regardless, I still thought of it as play, and I loved nothing more than to pull everything out and carefully set it all up. Some kids just have different (and slightly creepy) ways of playing.

This weekend was a good LEGO weekend...Not so good for other things, as our pipes have frozen and my mobile's speakers blew, but at least I got some new sets. 79016 Attack on Lake-Town 79013 Lake-Town Chase (currently on sale at Kmart if you can find it on the shelves) I plan on making a small base to display both of those sets

Looks great! And hitting me a little in the feels.... Left it out for two reasons: 1. so you will buy the extended edition. 2. He knew I would cry all my mascara off once I heard Billy Boyd singing The Last Goodbye, so he decided only one major tearjerker for that movie.

I hardly think they are dying. The price point has gone up, but they've been experimenting with new themes, and starting to embrace the AFOL collectors (ghostbusters ECTO-1 for example).

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

I've been hinting to my husband that a Lonely Mountain set would be the perfect thing to give his amazing wife for her birthday. If they were actually to release more of it, I would jump on it in a second. Though, I would still really love a Balrog to join in the Mines of Moria set...- 7,499 replies

I'm the only who is an AFOL in my family. Most of my siblings and I played with LEGO when younger, but none of them kept it up when they got older. My husband is not a fan, but accepts my LEGO fandom, and when we got married, he put two minifigs on top of our cake.

As others have noted, the water base is great! I love the use of different height bricks around the edge to make it look like you're actually cutting through the lake. Really well done (and now it makes me want to start making displays for my LotR sets...)!

I agree with this. The only one closest to Philly is a 45 minute drive to a mall. :/ I'd love to see one in the city limits.

Predictions for Collectable Minifigures Series 14
owlbearsforall replied to Cy_Bored1337's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd like to see a few female versions of monsters we've already had: werewolf, mummy, franklin's monster (a bride fig!), and a lady dr. jekyll and ms hyde. -
I had a small toddler rip through my LEGO organization, so it's hidden away in boxes for me to organize later, but here's a quick video of my office space were I show off finished sets and stash my bricks (not seen, hidden in the music cabinet where I keep my minifigs) I have a few plastic organizer for everything, I just need a long weekend to put it all back together.

Love the layout, but I would have added a bit more dimension to the landscape, especially around Orthanc, to give it a bit more of that proper sunken in Isengard look. But with the space you had available, it really looks amazing. Well done!

This happens to me all the time. For some reason, moreso with the cheese wedge bricks than anything else.

Love that's they've even got their goblets of Dwarven ale!

The Snudda lazy Susan from Ikea makes a great base. I'm thinking about picking one up to display my tower, maybe painting it a matte black, too.- 7,499 replies

Just picked up Council of Elrond the week. Loving the colors for the leaves.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, but not new to LEGO. I've been building since I was a child, and while I got out of it during high school and college, the minifigs series brought me right bag in (Zombie figure, I love you). I grew up with the Crusaders and Forestmen series, mostly staying with the Castle series, though I did have a few beloved Paradisa sets. Now I mostly collect LotR or Hobbit sets. I'm planning out a Bree MOC, using the MMV (what a surprise, right?). I'm also a sucker for new Marvel minifigs, and of course the minifig series.
