  1. No experience of those tyres but usually similar materials when warm are a little more flexible.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. Here is some info about it: Last year LEGO became the most profitable toy maker in the world. Now this notoriously secretive, privately-owned superbrand has opened its doors. We discover what makes it tick, meet some of its key people and reveal more about the company DNA than ever before. In The Secret World of Lego, we follow Justin, a 23 year old design student, as he travels to LEGO headquarters in Denmark in pursuit of one of the most hotly contested jobs in the world – a LEGO set designer. We meet Liverpudlian Matthew, who undertook the same process and has now risen to become a Vice President of Design. We follow Mark and Tom, two adult fans of LEGO, as they try two different money-making schemes they hope will transform their love of the brick into hard cash. And there’s Roar, the LEGO “reputation manager”, who guides us through this secret world - until we get a little too close for comfort. http://www.channel4.com/info/press/programme-information/the-secret-world-of-lego
  3. He also only has an Amazon gift card but I do agree it's a nice set :)
  4. I was looking forward to the Jurassic Park set but not really bothered about the one they've picked.
  5. How long does this stay exclusive to Lego for? I'm wondering when it will hit Toy's R Us or Amazon (I'm in the UK) as I have vouchers to use up!
  6. Looks great, love the use of the monorail!
  7. I've not been that tempted by them yet - at that sort of discount though I would definitely buy them.
  8. That looks great, when does this set get released in the UK?
  9. I'm now thinking of a bigger plan - I might raise up my modular street and have this pass under them through a tunnel. Will certainly be a decent big project for me :)
  10. Excellent - thank you all for your help. @MECHALEX - I didn't realise you could do that. It certainly opens up more possibilities now. Thanks
  11. Hi everyone, I'm just after a bit of assistance on space requirements for a monorail. Basically I have a long sideboard in my 'playroom' where I'm building a modular street. I was hoping to loop around this a rail or mono rail track. I have the required length but the depth required for the train loop is too much, I'm hoping the mono rail is smaller. Can anyone advise? Basically looking at something like the right hand side of this picture, I need to know how many studs are required from one side to the other! Or even if the loop could be made even smaller? Thanks in advance :)
  12. Have a look here, lots of options for you: http://direct.asda.com/george/kids/lego-toys/D25M8G1C8,default,sc.html#http://direct.asda.com/george/kids/lego-toys/D25M8G1C8,default,sc.html?prefn1=juiceExtractors&prefv1=LEGO%20Classic
  13. I've ordered from bricklink and from the S@H site and for me if the part is available on the S@H site I would always go there first. Few reasons; Quite often its cheaper - as mentioned above parts and shipping come to quite a lot on bricklink Quantity - I needed like ~100 tiles and no single bricklink seller had enough in stock, buying in small quantities from individual sellers means extra postage costs. Quality - I've had bricklink orders delivered in used sticky bags, wrong pieces, printed parts etc. etc. and this is from stores with good ratings!
  14. Hello, I think it's called a liftgate
  15. You can usually buy cheaper elsewhere than the S@H site but they do carry exclusives, have early access to sets for VIP's and as mentioned above the promo polybags are quite sought after. I'm new (back into it) again so I can't really assist with when the best time to buy is.
  16. No but this is the contact details from the domain registration if it helps: Carl Goss 57 gotts park avenue armley Leeds West Yorkshire LS12 2RW 01132 633888 I also noticed this on the page: Interested in buying this business? call Carl on 07976 958681 Did you pay via Paypal? You should be protected if nothing turns up and they don't reply.
  17. I'm sure the older kits from the late 80's stayed put better than the current range does. The Delorean frustrates me because every time I touch it the doors fall off!
  18. If you can get all the data into an excel spreadsheet I think it will make your job 100% easier! I would go to brickset and download the part list into CSV: http://brickset.com/inventories/10243-1 The CSV can then be opened by Excel. Once you've done this with a few sets, Excel has built in functions to find duplicates. If you format the sheet properly from the start you could also use it as an inventory list to keep track of how many of each part you own etc.
  19. hahaha great
  20. That is the exact set I want! The jeep, the gates - iconic images from the first film that would translate really well into a Lego set.
  21. I guess I didn't realise how lucky I am to have one only 40 Mins away (Metro Centre, UK)
  22. Just noticed a Top Gear Lego trailer has been released. Are we likely to have a Top Gear themed set at some point? I know I had a survey from Top Gear not that long ago - one of the questions was asking about Lego.
  23. For anyone growing up in the UK flicking through the Argos catalogue was part of Christmas, looking at all the toys and making a list! Well if you want to relive any of that it seems a lot of the old Argos catalogues are available to view online, from 1973 / 1999 by the looks of it. Most importantly for us it lets you view all the Lego sets Argos used to have in each year. View them all here: http://retromash.com/argos/ (For those not in the UK the toy section was usually at the back )
  24. Excellent thank you very much I will be posting more actively soon and will try to detail my progress too.
