  1. In the UK bike paths are red too. Anyway, whatever the colour it looks fantastic and has inspired me to add a car free space into my city, on a much, much, much smaller scale!
  2. Anyone seen or used this before? BOX4BLOX works like a coin sorter, sorting bricks by size through a series of trays with different sized grids, so pieces end up in a tray with similar sized bricks. http://www.amazon.co.uk/BOX4BLOX-Winning-Organising-Interlocking-Building/dp/B004UJFUP2
  3. I recently picked up this (and a magnet) from my holiday to Paris:
  4. Just to update this thread with some feedback. I purchased the Town Hall, Fire Station and Monster Haunted House from him, all arrived yesterday boxed, with instructions etc. A quick look and everything seems to be there. :) Cheers
  5. No not at all. I take inspiration from everyone on here, I think that's all part of sharing and browsing the forums. I'll do some more pictures, I am getting it all set out into my city at the moment. Aside from the monorail I actually think the 60097 is a great set anyway and worth picking up. I managed to find a discount on it, if you're in the UK see this: http://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/15-off-lego-playmobil-k-nex-using-discount-code-hut-2229699
  6. The centre of gravity has definitely moved a bit, you can tell this is a lot higher than originally intended, I don't think you could go much taller. I also didn't realise how much of a jolt the train gets when it hits the directional / stop switches! My poor mini figs will be putting neck braces on soon :)
  7. I finally managed to pick up a space monorail set in decent condition and at a decent price so thought I'd have a play around with it. The space theme didn't really fit into my city! So I had to come up with a plan. Ever since the 60097 set was released I knew the tram looked ideal so here is my first attempt at converting the 60097 tram set onto monorail. It seems to work well, you can barely see the battery or the motor so I'm not too bothered about that. Image 1 This layout is just on my kitchen floor, the next stage is to move this into my city, I'll raise the city up and have this mostly running underneath. This is a short video of it running: This is the station in it's place from set 60097 and some monorail track set out: Image 2
  8. That looks great, I love the town square set and is the next one I plan to get. I also want to motorise it on my city so its good to see some working examples. The new town square set includes lots of cool little mini sets that fit in well to our cities.
  9. Great! Give the Apple Fan boys a run for their money ;)
  10. As another Newbie I can tell you it's difficult to build up a large collection of bricks easily!
  11. Might be also worthwhile getting a couple of Lego sets new so that you can see the latest techniques and pieces used. A lot has changed over the years!
  12. I think it could be a full series there is that much to show and talk about!
  13. Did anyone watch it last night then? What did you think? Personally I didn't think it was as good as it could be, touched on some subjects that I would have liked to hear more about but didn't really go in depth about it. But as a little opener into the world of Lego it wasn't bad.
  14. Just getting back into Lego recently my part selection is very limited. It's frustrating not being able to pick a couple of bricks from my collection to use and I'm having to buy literally every piece I need each time. I need a way of bulk buying lots and lots of new bricks in every size, shape and colour imaginable!
  15. I agree, a tie in with Nintendo and all their great IP would be fantastic!
  16. There is now a trailer up for it on YouTube:
  17. Wow that is looking epic! Well done :) Can't wait to see the modulates in place.
  18. I picked up the TV crew a little while back. A fond memory from my childhood that I had to get again.
  19. Well done, it looks very nice. A sort of Georgian style to it. I think you could easily support an extra floor to it as well without it looking odd.
  20. Thanks, just saw the emerald night video. Shows you can do quite a bit with the monorail. You're right about the price of the space monorail sets, they seem to be a lot cheaper than airport. I suppose it doesn't really matter which set I get as I'll be changing most of it anyway.
  21. How have you found the monorail then? I am looking at getting 6399-1: Airport Shuttle once I can find a decent set at a decent price. (In the UK) I am looking to mod the train with my own carriages, I assume that's possible? Is there anything else I should look out for when getting into monorail? Anything I should be aware of? Thanks Also, I know we are stuck with the motor for this but can we use power functions to power and control it?
  22. Anyone mixed 'Normal' mini figs in with the elves sets yet? What do they look like?
  23. Welcome back! :)
  24. Welcome along :) What sets or themes are you interested in?
  25. I think one of the reasons Lego is so huge is because exclusives like this are highly sought collectors items. If everything they ever produced was available for sale at standard rrp then it wouldn't be as much fun collecting, part of collecting things is trying to get your hands on exclusive, rare, hard to find pieces.
