  1. The chef’s face is actually Alicia’s. I find it bizzare for the first time ever I believe they’re bringing back minidoll prints that aren’t on the production line. Mia’s baker outfit in particular is a really weird inclusion. Do you think this could point at a Friends legacy wave similar to the SW and Ninjago legacy sets from this year? I also thought the bike was new but it’s just new to Friends, it appeared in a creator set this year. I’m just glad we’re getting yellow clothes in general. All previous yellow clothes were flame yellowish orange or light yellow. I’m not sure why we have to see Vicky again and again, but her thick eyebrows and grey eyes (albeit a lot darker :P) match me better than any minidoll so I’m happy to get that face again. You’re not going to like the Octopus Carousel if you find these builds creepy xD I do wonder why this set in particular had such a big budget for recolours. :P
  2. But you wanted them to stand out :P The 41365 Emma was the first to stop wearing South Korean inspired clothing so there’s nothing about her the makes her obviously Emma. I guess their attempt to make all the girls wear different unique clothes in 2018 didn’t go well with kids? I mean a lot of these summer sets are going to have coral, so if they get any of the Water Rescue sets they’ll receive a few bricks in that colour. :P I mean usually kids will prefer things in their favorite colour, the pastels don’t only exist in Friends because of the “princess syndrome”. Girls generally like the pastel colours and gravitate towards them. LEGO spent 4 million dollars researching the theme back in 2008-2011 and I’m sure they spent a fair amount again for the reboot, of girls didn’t care about colours there wouldn’t be such a strong focus on them.
  3. The tour guides and locals in and around Loch Ness refer to her as she. Also most versions of the Loch Ness monster in pop culture are a she or neither male or female. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_Ness_Monster_in_popular_culture
  4. Looks like you’ll be calling LEGO then I never noticed that about Emma’s sets, that’s pretty random. None of the girls use Light Royal Blue or Dark Azur I’m suprised they didn’t give her one of those.
  5. I know adults love coral but I can’t see kids demanding it over any other pastel colour. A lot of kids don’t buy sets for parts packs and they’re obviously the main demographic xD I didn’t catch the stripes looking like a light house or beach chair, props to you for realizing that. Hopefully it’ll look more clear when they’re stacked on top of each other. :P Im kind of confused what you mean here? Wasn’t the unique colour schemes what made them unique? I mean I guess since the reboot Mia only where’s shorts and trousers and Andreas outfits are a bit flashy. But apart from those there’s nothing that really makes their outfits unique apart from the colours and Emma’s outfit doesn’t use her colours. Not really I just find it odd they make Emma’s tile in one of Stephanie’s colours where all the others’ tiles are in their own colour :P 41337 Swing With Looping in the Amusment Park, the name doesn’t sound very final. Speaking of the Amusement Park, there’s blurry final pictures of the two retail sets on Instagram. 41373 uses no stickers by the looks of things. I know some people were looking forward to the clam piece in teal, but in the final images it’s medium lavender. Andrea uses her legs from the Park Performance set, I think her torso is the one from The Accessory Store from last year. I think the boy included is Daniel, who seems to be wearing a new olive green jumper. 41375 looks almost identical to the preliminary images. No major differences except the background is a lot less clear and it’s very obvious the Ferris wheel is not included. The mermaid seems to use Ariel’s tail in the same colours which is super dissapointing.
  6. I think it’s bizzare the heart boxes now have new outfits, as I said before who will want the winter ones? XD It’s lovely to see them nevertheless, especially a new skirt for Olivia’s skin tone! I love how each of these outfits have an unique style to them, but still give off the beach theme. Andreas is my personal favorite, I love her new teal skirt. Zobo’s binoculars are actually a new mould which is also exciting. One thing that is really off is the colours of these boxes. Why do they all have a strip of coral and aqua? It just seems odd that kids who are lucky enough to get all 5 will have 5 very similar looking boxes from the side. XD Emma’s set suggests the designers are straying away from the strict colour scheme. Her 2x4 tile is azure (Stephanie’s main colour) and her outfit consists of navy and basic blue, none of those colours are part of her colour scheme. Let’s hope we start getting Olivia in different colours if we’re not going to get non Disney Princess characters with her skin tone. Lastly did anyone else notice Emma uses Clay’s helmet instead of last year’s go kart subtheme one? I find that crazy, didn’t they produce that mould just to appeal to girls as they wanted to see hair from out of the helmets? Oh and that German site from yesterday that had the photos, listed a new Friends set: 41337 Swing with Looping in the Amusement Park!
  7. Shouldn’t the Loch Ness monster guy be a girl, Nessie is female after all
  8. It can be found in both. :3 The cart does look like a new piece, that’s quite exciting! It also suggest we’ll get a normal non 4 plus supermarket soon. I think it’s odd that they have eleven sets based off heart boxes and all of those come with a friend. I doubt many kids will want both the winter ones and the summer ones. If the summer heart boxes have exclusive outfits I doubt anyone who haven’t purchased them yet will want the winter ones. XP We have had a few friends set with a sole minidoll who wasn’t one of the main five but I doubt they sold well as they don’t make them anymore. That being said I think it would’ve been nice if they accommodated for that and did a dual pack of two similar to the Ninjago dual spinners from this year. It would’ve been a nice cheap way for kids to get a side character.
  9. I’m sure you’ve all seen the leaks of the new Friends sets? We’ve got a few new animals: a baby dolphin in light aqua, a baby turtle in spring yellowish green, a baby narwhal in light pink and a beach assessory pack in coral that contains a few new under the sea animals, including a sea horse!
  10. I believe you can now get the party short girl pigtails hairpiece in brown from build a minifigure now! ?
  11. Yup, there’s no way they’d randomly do a set months after like they did for TDKR. That was a special case, I.e. it had Batman
  12. If you look hard enough you can find them. The baby dolphin is aqua and is rather small but not tiny. The seahorse, Paracnthurus hepatus, adult starfish and baby octopus all come in a new accessory pack, so far we’ve only seen it in vibrant coral.
  13. The fact we’re getting so many new animals in these beach sets are exciting! Not only do we have that new whale, but a new seahorse, Paracnthurus hepatus, adult starfish and baby octopus. Additionally there’s the new baby turtle and baby dolphin pieces to go with the older versions. Hopefully this means we’ll get a big octopus and big whale too! ?
  14. I really love these sets but I think it be to repetitive to state that. :P One thing that I love that I haven’t seen anyone else mentioned is Parker’s design. It’s this beautiful in between of “masculine” and “feminine”. I don’t want to get into a sexuality debate but I’m really impressed with LEGO going against the social norm with this character and that’s coming from someone who loves mini-dolls. :)
  15. Your designs never fail to impress, great job as always! Whenever I hear people say they’re running out of CMF ideas I point to here to show them there’s plenty left :P
  16. The duck is supposedly from a Creator set, but I can see them working it into a Friends set too as a toy. The turtle is very interesting as this reboot has been lacking in new animals and a new baby turtle is a welcome addition. I think we’ll have to wait until April or May to see the summer sets, but at least we know the names and that they’re going to use vibrant coral more.
  17. A l”eak” a while back stated a list of the sets coming out year. This leak included 41164-68, claimed would be Frozen 2 and released in October. Since that “leak” it’s been confirmed Frozen 2 merch will be released on October 4th. I’d take it with a grain of salt as it was some random Instagram leaker but four sets would be very nice. Unfortantley we’ll have to wait til next year it seems to get Pocahontas, Belle, Moana, Snow White and Merida with the new face designs. :(
  18. Let’s hope we get some budding photographers to take pictures when visiting the parks xD
  19. We still need a Wonder Dog and Samari, and they were in the movie!
  20. Not really Thor Ragnorock released in November and Aquaman released in December and their sets both got August releases. It will be new for this theme but believe me LEGO will want to cash in on the hype of this movie. Many people will buy the toys before they even see the movie so it’s a smart move to have the sets out as early as Disney lets them. Even though I really don’t like the Tower sets I’ll be shocked if they don’t give us two in the summer. I don’t think we’re getting any more villains unfortunately. Those two sets didn’t sell well and the Maleficent one only lasted one year when usually sets at that price last at least two. I think Frozen 2 will likely be the whole wave apart from one or two like you said. One set based on a classic film and another with a group of princesses as it be odd if they only did it for one. LEGO will probably bring the sets to toy fair, but they probably won’t allow pictures. :(
  21. Don’t bet on it being a licensed reastraunt! It’s just that the set was called “Restraunt”, while all the other sets had full names. Additionally there was a number in the description that was only found in licensed sets descriptions on the place I found these from. :P Im glad we’re all excited for the beach! I would’ve expected a resort for that large piece count but obviously we got that last year, so who knows what could show up! The HeartBoxes aren’t actually bad sets for older fans as they have various parts in new colours. I am curious to how these will be different from the winter ones apart from colours? Yes the boat set does have a huge piece count! It’ll probably just have large sidebuilds (another lighthouse?) and be about the same size as the Dolphin Cruiser and Summer Boat from two years ago. I’m very excited to see how many new minidolls we’re going to get. I think Mia and Emma for sure will be in the beach set. I expect a boy with darker skin to appear in that one too shirtless and I guess Manson’s torso will be used in Andrea’s Evening pool on a different character. Zach’s legs from the Carwash also would fit a pool setting. The beach will definitely feature four minidolls, perhaps even five if we’re lucky. The only other set I see having new characters are The Rescue Mission sets. We got an additional girl and boy in 2016’s, 2017’s and 2018’s subthemes so hopefully that trend will continue! Oh and hopefully the Rescue Mission sets will feature new animal recolours!
  22. No it’s bright red now I’m hurt you didn’t contact me first Berry :P Yes it’s bright red now!
  23. Here’s the summer sets, or at least some of them: 41362 Heartlake Supermarket - 140 pieces, 4+ 41371 Mia’s Horse Trailer - 216 pieces, 6+ 41372 Stephanie’s Gymnastics Spectacle - 241 pieces, 6+ 41374 Andrea’s Evening Pool - N/A pieces, 6+ 41375 Heartlake City Beach, 1251 pieces (2nd Largest Friends piece count), 8+ 41376 Turtle Rescue Mission - 225 pieces, 6+ 41378 Dolphin Rescue Mission - 363 pieces, 6+ 41379 Restaurant - 6+ (theres a chance it will be based off a real life restaurant, but don’t quote me on that ;P) 41380 Rescue Mission Centre - 602 pieces, 6+ 41381 Rescue Mission Boat - 908 pieces, 7+ 41382 Advent Calendar - 336 pieces, 6+ 41384 Andrea’s Summer Heartbox - 83 pieces, 6+ 41385 Emma’s Summer Heartbox - 86 pieces, 6+ 41386 Stephanie’s Summer Heartbox - 95 pieces, 6+ 41387 Olivia’s Summer Heartbox - 93 pieces, 6+ 41388 Mia’s Summer Heartbox - 85 pieces, 6+
  24. Just2Good has stated that the new Friends line isn’t selling as well as expected. Why do you guys think this is the case? Personally I think that lack of appropriate media supporting this launch I think is kind of ridiculous. Most of the sets are much less curvy then before, I think this makes them stand out less. There’s not enough characters in the sets. While it was no secret that the original Friends line lacked secondary characters, I think it was really jarring this year how many sets more than one friend comes in. It isn’t really easy to make yourself/your family in minidoll form. LEGO’s studies from 2012 stated that girls like to play in the first person, so I always find it odd how limiting the amount of minidoll faces and hair choices there are. We have yet to see a hazel eyed face and our first grey eyed face was introduced with Vicky and has an evil smirk. Olivia’s skin tone was not given a face without glasses which I also find a missed opportunity. XP To add, I don’t think the stylized faces help customization either. Why it’s nice for us AFOLs to have each girl stand out perhaps the bland look limited kids imagination less. It works with Barbie anyway. Oh and also please LEGO release more hair colours for minidolls, I know minifigure hairs can be used on them but little girls will likely only collect minidoll related sets. The girls look different to the show and box art. Mia’s hair is orange in the show and her shorts are blue, Olivia’s hair is nearly always in a full braid, Andrea’s skirt is turquoise and Emma’s skirt is almost completely light blue. The show isn’t availble in English online. There’s no webisodes, which seemed to be really popular with the core demographic. The show still isn’t avaible in English online. XP It should also be noted doll lines rarely last, I think Barbie and American Girl are the only two that have stood the test of time. (Not counting Disney Princess of course!) I think TLM2 will certainly give minidolls a boost.
