Another awesome entry! The judges are going to have a hard time with this challenge! The fort looks great, especially love the upstairs and the little tower. The minibuilds for the forced perspective are superb. l don't know what you used as sea but it looks great! Well done! -
Horatio joined the military after hearing about the wonderful New World. Plenty of new islands were discovered on a regular basis. There were beaches you’d dream of and adventures to be had. Not being a wealthy man, the only way he’d reach these places was joining up and hoping he’d be stationed in a nice and relaxed place. It started out great! The ocean was the bluest he’d ever seen and the stories of magnificent white beaches proved to be true as well. It truly was paradise. After a couple of weeks his mission was to keep watch on one of these beaches. Nothing ever happens on these patrols so Horatio and Private Dirk were happy to be on the beach. Sergeant Gregory then saw a sloop in the distance. Visitors were rare in these parts however a lot of trade vessels were lost after hurricane Helga. Maybe these were survivors of some sort. The sloop had 2 passengers, obviously some type of sailors. Sergeant Gregory: Halt! This is Corrington territory. State your business, sir. Redcap: Apologies, sir. We mean no harm! Our vessel was lost in the storm, we just want to send to send a message home. Redcap and Afroman then pulled out their guns and started shooting. Sergeant Gregory didn’t hesitate and open fired as well. Unfortunately private Dirk hadn’t expected real trouble so carried a saber rather than a firearm. This proved to be a deadly mistake. The beautiful white beach already ran red when private Horatio finally managed to grab a gun. Luckily Afromans aiming had been off. He couldn’t believe this just happened. How did paradise turn into hell so quickly?

The maiden voyage of the Mercator went smoothly, in hindsight you could say too smooth. Captain Cornelius knew his crew was fairly new but after this easy trip he had full confidence in them. So it was time for a proper trade run, he'd visit 3 ports, do some business and be on his merry way. The beginning of the trip went as expected. After visiting the first harbour a decent profit was already made. On route to the second port the weather turned foul, the waves were getting huge and the winds became insane. Maybe if he had paid more attention to the reports he would have at least heard rumours about a hurricane. He hadn't. It hit the ship by the coast of Garvey. Hurricane Helga was devastating, Captain Cornelius and the crew tried to outmaneuver it but failed miserably. The ship was lost and the homefront still has no news from the crew. Meanwhile of the coast of Garvey:

Woooow! Another excellent entry! Excellent story and beauty of a build! The islands look great, love the fact that one has beautiful trees and the other one has tree stumps but fortification. Too bad Velasquez pissed off the natives but it gives us the opportunity to see a very nice fire so I can live with that :D- 22 replies

[OL-Ch2A] Fort in Astrapi, ÃŽle de Zeus
Puvel replied to Gideon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
How do you keep coming up with brilliant ideas? The fort itself looks great with those angles and spikes at the top. The pile of cannon balls looks good too. I think the tower is even more impressive, its inner structure just makes it excellent! Awesome stuff! -

Oooh another excellent build! Can only agree with the others. The vegetation is just beautiful, especially like the little bit of washed up seaweed on the beach. And the turtle is a superb addition! The defenses themselves look wonderful, nice to see the cannons can actually move a bit and the heated shot is a great idea as well. Seeing all the details I'm starting to think I should do more research And then this is combined with a great story and stunning photography, well done sir!
