  1. A couple of months ago one of the flotillas of the QuickWing trade route came under attack by the Clearance. The Corrington fleet protecting the flotilla defeated the pirate and carried on sailing. Captain Horatio Cavendish of the HMS Alice saw this as an opportunity and took over the ship. He managed to get the ship back to port and offered it as a price to Puvel. Puvel was happy to invest some doubloons in the ship and made it seaworthy again. He offered the position of captain to Mr. Cavendish who was happy to take up command of a larger vessel. The first mission would be to make the seas safer so the ship will join the brick sea purge.
  2. I can offer the services of the Clearance (4A). Haven't posted it yet, but it will be posted tomorrow. Just letting you know already so it can be assigned to a flotilla and a zone

  9. Yay for the holy trinity! The black and purple work really well and it's a lively atmosphere in there. Some more variation in the headgear might have improved the scene, or is that the unofficial uniform of the freetraders?

  11. Thanks Bregir! Let's hope Puvel doesn't get lost at sea as well or his journal could get lost for a while too Thanks Kai!

  14. In one of the bookshops Puvel frequented the owner recommended a newly discovered book called ’The Journal of Father Tholeau, and the Quest for the Fountain of Youth’. Seeing as Puvel was interested in going off to explore in the New World, this should be an interesting read. It was a good read indeed. Apart from the journal and Father Tholeaus thoughts on life, the universe and everything the book also described some of the nearby islands and wildlife. This made the journal more credible and Puvel started to believe the story might be more than the delusions of a religious nut from Oleon. After spending some time talking to the more adventurous sailors in the local pubs Puvel got a clear picture of what’s out there. He could then use his trading contacts to meet with merchants that interacted a bit more with the locals of the islands he believed were the prime candidates. He found out there were rumours of inhabitants living for a very long time. The way they described the island also matched with the descriptions of the environments in the book. So Puvel ended up with a pretty good idea of where the island could be found. After arriving he spend a couple of weeks getting to know the locals and their language. Even if the stories about the Fountain were all false, which in all fairness was a big possibility, it would still make for interesting anthropological research. The natives were very cooperative and soon enough he was able to understand them enough to find out that they indeed lived for many many moons, thousands even! This would mean they live for hundreds of years and that would definitely be a clue for being on the right island. Puvel had to make sure this was not a mistranslation so he double checked and indeed the amount of time the moon needed to wax and wane was their way of counting moons. One of the evenings the all sat around the campfire with the shaman Griebdaukly talking about the magic in the world. They ended up talking about the well of the gods. Puvel couldn’t believe his luck when he was promised a visit it to the sacred site on their next trip. This was exciting news! A couple of days later the festivities for the full moon celebration were in full swing. Shaman Griebdaukly told Puvel they would go to the lake to get some sacred water. He was then prepared for the hike with some rituals. The next day they’d go up. After spending a couple of hours walking up the sacred mountain they arrived at a plateau and ended up by what looked like an average green puddle. Griebdaukly proudly pointed at the little lake and told Puvel this was the sacred lake that blessed them with excellent health and a good life. Puvel wasn’t sure what he had expected but this was still a bit underwhelming. Then again, this was a humble tribe. Of course it would be a simple ‘Fountain’.

  20. These events take place in an undisclosed part in the land of Carno. Captain Whoknowswho: Right, bring out my scribe and the prisoner boys! I need their help to write a letter to that queen. Have to make sure I use all them proper terms and whatnot y’know! Write this down will ya: Greetings Queenie! I’m just writing to extend my warmest thanks for your contribution to my retirement funds. It’s a fine vessel you let me have! Bit of a shame we had to have a little fight to get it, blood is hard to get out of wood you know. This is where the captured captain of the Bull Shark, Edmund Freise becomes angry. You son of a wench! How dare you address Her Majesty like that? I demand you change your tone immediately! Captain Whoknowswho: Aha looks like someone is finally talking! Very good, but please shut your face again sir. I’m in the middle of something. Let’s continue Mr Scribe, Don’t worry though, we’re not animals so we kept some of your men alive. Haven’t decided yet whether to sell them off or just play with them for a little bit. If you feel like you can spare some chests of gold you can have them back, slightly damaged. As a token of my good will I’ll accompany this letter with a gift, I hope you can appreciate the gesture. Your humble bladibla, you know how to finish a letter man. Get on with it! He turns his head and talks to captain Freise: So what is it you were saying my good man? Captain Freise: You stole from an Empire AND you insult our Queen? I thought you were a bit of a megablocks but my word, you sir, are a damned buffoon! I demand a duel to defend her honour! First blood will settle this and you will rephrase that letter! Captain Whoknowswho: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Sure, I’ll have the boys fetch you a saber. I’ve beaten you in battle before remember? Both captains put up a brave fight. Yet even though captain Freise had injuries inflicted by defending the Bull Shark, suffered from a lack of proper nutrition since his capture, his love for country and queen gave him extra strength. A blow to captain Whoknowswho's arm should have ensured his victory. Unfortunately captain Whoknowswho is a less honourable man and punched him in the face hard just after pretending to surrender. Captain Whoknowswho: Muahahaha, send this one back to his cell and fetch me a delivery boy!

I'll see if I can find some time to add some more things to the brown portion, there are some empty spots indeed Thanks Galactic13! Thanks strider! Am happy with that one as well
