  1. "Standard parts might appear faster, special items like functional bricks may take up to year." What's a functional brick? I assumed a "special item" meant the opposite of that. Does this mean that anything but recolors is gonna take a year?
  2. By that time I'll have bought half of what I need on BL and the other half as bootlegs. Good job Lego.
  3. Well, old parts are generally less expensive on BL. Now on BL the problem is that you've got to place lots of orders and shipping becomes a very large part of the price, especially since covid. So B&P used to have an advantage here. But now if you don't reach the minimum, you can end up with 2 large handling fees + the shipping fee, so neither is a good deal nowadays. I have placed a few BL orders since then, but none on B&P, because I don't wanna have to deal with the new system if it's not even for new parts.
  4. I think that's typically a part that is indeed probably already as cheap on BL, and will be much cheaper in the future. For Lego the price is more based on size/complexity and offer, for BL it's based on demand and I would assume that MOCers generally go for the freedom of ball joints instead of ratchets that are more a toy thing (other rotation joints litteraly cost pennies on BL). I know I'll get some as a detail part but I don't think it'll be too popular. So is it allowed to start a new thread about all Lego-compatible parts, and if so, in which section?
  5. A bit sad that it has to be about the brand instead of the parts, though (unless it's a sponsoring problem, then I get it). I mean at the end of the day we're MOCing with what we can find & buy. I totally understand that any recolor that Lego has never released, and obviousy any part that Lego has never offered, "isn't Lego". But here there are recent recolors that Lego doesn't wanna sell to us in quantities, but that are available unbranded. Still Lego in my book, if I can't tell the difference. I used to be a purist but even when I was, it wasn't about the brand for me, but about the limitations, the rule of being limited to whatever Lego has produced, whether it's digitally, using Lego parts or copies if a genuine part happens to cost big bucks on BL because Lego only has produced it for one rare set. I will never pay 10 bucks for one technic half bush in black. Yes that's their average cost used on BL. Yet I will totally allow myself to use those, because Lego has produced them. Clones here totally look like a legit option to me. It's not ripping off Lego as Lego hasn't produced them for ages and has clearly locked the color of half bushes since then. Yes it may be ripping off BL sellers but I don't have much sympathy for someone making absurd profits from rarity (even though I do feel bad for sellers because many parts also have zero demand and are worthless). And today we're in a situation where Lego doesn't wanna sell us new parts either and we can either pay the BL ransom because the parts aren't old enough, or find alternatives. It's not about promoting other brands because those are simply unbranded. Anyway, if this thread has to stay strictly on topic, not much is gonna happen anymore since nothing new has happened on B&P since March.
  6. I use 2x6's in mine and nothing has moved (since the last package that is)
  7. Was just about to report the same. Otherwise, loving all the new parts!
  8. I've myself bought quite some small sets in order to reach the threshold, mostly Brickheadz because I love those (and they're themselves a nice source of small useful parts). But I don't even think in matters anymore with the new shitty system where you have to buy 12 eur more if one of the parts you need happens to be in the other category.
  9. The second page rendered me speechless. (not just because it's crazy that Lego has reached this point, but also that it's not even any relevant to the subject of the questionnaire)
  10. While I've bought sets for the sets themselves and not the parts, I rarely buy sets for parts anymore, because I quickly learnt that even at half price, I would still only use so little of a set's parts that it was never worth it for me. But I've also never bought a set for a few specific parts because I more than often need way more than what's in a set. That doesn't mean it's not gonna generate new sales because I'll be buying those parts from somewhere else, and when it's Bricklink it means someone has bought the sets. However it's not Bricklink anymore for me, I buy more & more on Ali, especially new recolors that Lego just doesn't wanna sell separately. And they're not even cheaper - I've bought Gobricks parts for more than what genuine parts run for on B&P. And while I'm there to buy parts that Lego doesn't wanna sell me, I buy stuff that Lego does sell while I'm at it. So Lego, take my money, if you don't then someone else is gonna.
  11. There's a magic wand (printed bar 3L) but it's sadly the opposite: black with white tips
  12. Come on, B&P is a competitor to BL sellers, the advantage of BL is that not everyone has heard of B&P, other than that, when you need parts for a MOC, you'll generally buy from both, generally one B&P order for the most you can get, and then several BL ones with expensive shipping, for 1 or 2 rare parts that only those sellers have. And I also really hope that new parts not being listed on B&P anymore, has nothing to do with possible competition with BL. Anyway, these last few months none of them got my money, Ali sellers did, they sold me recent recolors that Lego doesn't want to, and that are still way too rare on BL.
  13. PAB was pointless anyway, there was no part that was exclusive to it, and most (if not all) were more expensive there. It was only for those who didn't know about B&P, or wanted to wait less. The new system is technically ok, but I would have preferred a proper Bricklink shop. Nothing can beat BL as for features & efficiency.
  14. And for once I was optimistic when they announced they were merging those 2 services that made no sense to be separated. I was sure they'd screw it up - like everything new online in the past - but I thought they would at least truly merge those services, not keep both behind the scene and render the best one useless. If at least they had anounced their crap plan back then in February, I would have placed orders when the March parts were still showing up in the old system. But no, I was stupid enough to have faith in Lego & wait for the launch.
  15. Are they? I'm still finding absolutely nothing of the stuff I was waiting for (parts from march & above)
  16. So it's finally back.. and with even less parts than before.. none of the stuff from march is showing, even as unavailable.
  17. Still their loss because.. they're not the only source for parts nowadays. While I can't buy legit parts, I buy clones.
  18. I just received mine and I had a turtle in it as well.. but it was missing. And now Lego is gonna send another padded letter with a bag & 2 sheets of paper.. for just a turtle.
  19. Not really, because arms & legs aren't "officially" safely swappable (which IMHO is also something a redesign of the minifig could fix or at least improve)
  20. Make sure you don't buy just 1. I did and the print was very off-center & useless.
  21. You should see what the Chinese have done with the minifig. They've managed to give them bending knees and movable arms, while preserving the look. Sadly Lego will never touch their iconic minifig, and I can't blame them for not even daring. But still, posable minifigs are a reality and a real improvement (but the quality of plastic isn't there). Dual molding is great but it's not Lego's invention, and it seems quite common in toys now.
  22. Yeah it's a great part, I've found myself needing it in blue recently. I believe the diameter fits pretty well the inside of the Brickheadz round glasses, for eye color.
  23. Sadly with Lego hiding all new parts, what else is there to discuss about here anyway? ..until april let's hope Talking about new parts, I'm seeing one of these in light bluish grey on Bricklink. No sign of it on Brickset (& obviously not B&P) though. Has anyone spotted it in any upcoming set (DeLorean maybe?)? It's probably not a mistake as it's high priced, the seller knows what he's selling.
  24. I know it's not the place (or is it?) but which other brands have shops like Lego's? I know Cobi has one, but parts are pretty expensive, and AFAIK the colors aren't even compatible. I've never found a place that was selling any of those special parts (indeed lots of great, chainable slopes, stud inverters & all) individually. For years I've been buying in China and I'm pretty happy with the quality, but I wouldn't count those as "brands" because they're not branded and you never know who produced the parts. They're also not much cheaper, so I sometimes feel silly for buying clones at Lego prices, except that they buy me months of delays, that's precious enough. If Lego produces a recolor, by the time I'll spot it on promo pictures, it's gonna take like 2 months for the sets to be released, a week (or possibly months again now) for them to be sold, and another month or more for the delivery. Instead of waiting, I've already bought the recolor as a clone and I can use it right away as it's now "proper Lego". And if Lego isn't happy with that, well take my money, but you don't seem to want it. (that being said, I spend so much more in sets than parts, that's why they just don't need to care)
