Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Not really, because arms & legs aren't "officially" safely swappable (which IMHO is also something a redesign of the minifig could fix or at least improve) -

Make sure you don't buy just 1. I did and the print was very off-center & useless. -

You should see what the Chinese have done with the minifig. They've managed to give them bending knees and movable arms, while preserving the look. Sadly Lego will never touch their iconic minifig, and I can't blame them for not even daring. But still, posable minifigs are a reality and a real improvement (but the quality of plastic isn't there). Dual molding is great but it's not Lego's invention, and it seems quite common in toys now. -

Yeah it's a great part, I've found myself needing it in blue recently. I believe the diameter fits pretty well the inside of the Brickheadz round glasses, for eye color. -

Sadly with Lego hiding all new parts, what else is there to discuss about here anyway? ..until april let's hope Talking about new parts, I'm seeing one of these in light bluish grey on Bricklink. No sign of it on Brickset (& obviously not B&P) though. Has anyone spotted it in any upcoming set (DeLorean maybe?)? It's probably not a mistake as it's high priced, the seller knows what he's selling. -

I know it's not the place (or is it?) but which other brands have shops like Lego's? I know Cobi has one, but parts are pretty expensive, and AFAIK the colors aren't even compatible. I've never found a place that was selling any of those special parts (indeed lots of great, chainable slopes, stud inverters & all) individually. For years I've been buying in China and I'm pretty happy with the quality, but I wouldn't count those as "brands" because they're not branded and you never know who produced the parts. They're also not much cheaper, so I sometimes feel silly for buying clones at Lego prices, except that they buy me months of delays, that's precious enough. If Lego produces a recolor, by the time I'll spot it on promo pictures, it's gonna take like 2 months for the sets to be released, a week (or possibly months again now) for them to be sold, and another month or more for the delivery. Instead of waiting, I've already bought the recolor as a clone and I can use it right away as it's now "proper Lego". And if Lego isn't happy with that, well take my money, but you don't seem to want it. (that being said, I spend so much more in sets than parts, that's why they just don't need to care) -

That was already the case with the old B&P, but the trick is that you have to have at least one non-B&P item in your cart, even just a minifig blind bag. So it half counts, but probably only due to poor programming. -

It's up here in Belgium as well, and I can confirm that NONE of this month's new parts/recolors are available (yes they all were on B&P, I wish I hadn't waited to place an order) -

I've noticed that they've removed the B&P link from the usual place, perhaps they've removed it entirely, perhaps it's well hidden somewhere else. Bookmarks to B&P still work, though. Seems pretty silly to add the new parts to old B&P (well I guess they were already there and marked to be revealed at this date), but hide access to it. I've placed a B&P order a week ago and it went through, parts saying "in warehouse". I plan to make a new one, we'll see. -

Glad it's still the old system & the new parts are available here, however I'm sad not to see the new slopes from the Speed Champions sets. I've curses those sets for relying too much on stickers, and for once we really needed stickers because they're brand new parts, we get them printed :( Already 3 or 4 colors, it could take years until we get them unprinted in other sets. -

It baffles me that B&P orders can be missing parts, while it would be pretty easy to simply weigh the bag before shipping. -

I was assuming the handling costs were included in the part's price. But true, the shipping costs were low. What's still missing is a price reduction on quantity, though. Edit: I'm test-driving the french one (since it hasn't changed yet here), I'm finding that the prices have generally decreased (a little). However, god it's awful to search for parts now. Like, try to look for design ID 41682. It's just nowhere to be found, invisible. And unlike many parts, that one has only one design ID. But it's there, if you look for a full part ID, like 6250019, it will find it. Only it's not a part ID that you will find easily, except on Brickset, and.. the old B&P.. But Bricklink doesn't even list those. But even when it works it's tedious, it seriously need a entry or switch to go straight to the design ID, like B&P. God, type 41682 on Aliexpress and it will show it and just that - but not on Lego's own shop! But as for the prices I don't think they lied about them generally reduced, I think it's gonna be better for MOCers who need lots of common parts, and that it's gonna suck for collectors. And it kinda makes sense, as for handling costs. No one orders one 5 cents part but most people will order one horse. -

Amazing that Lego dares to raise prices & shipping while competition has never been so big in China. I used to only order clones for recolors that Lego doesn't wanna do, but I may change my mind. Other than that I was all for the unification of both systems, but from what I hear (still the old one here) it's bad, and still 2 systems in disguise. -
And no one knows why Lego remove parts? Are you sure that 4.3.11 isn't exactly the same as 4.3.10, but with the added online startup (failing) check, thus one more button to press at launch?
-
What does the 4.3.12 version do? Isn't the 4.3.11 version the "bad" one, basically the same as 4.3.10 (which might make more sense to share), but with a failing online check at the beginning?

I kinda like Lego's own (round) minifig stand with just 2 studs, but they seem to already have abandonned it :( They could also do what Lego will eventually have to do: the same 3x4 stand but with hollow studs. The new minifig "poser" part can't hold on the full studs of the current stands.
-
https://aera-ip.com/news/lego-wins-design-case-at-the-eu-court I totally understand that Lego can protect their minifig design, or many parts like animals & tools, but that something as dumb as any combination of tile+studs can be protected (whether it's patent or design) is silly. As silly as when Lego tried to design-protect 1x5 plates.

It just officialized something we already all knew, anyway. I wish Studio had an "LDD workflow" option, because IMHO it's a great tool, critical for at least renders & manual, but it just can't beat the speed of the LDD as long as the things we spend the most time on, take a lot more time than in the LDD. And it's mainly about moving around your model, which the LDD does a lot better because right-click re-centers. Some stuff, like rotating parts that goes backwards, the very different sorting of parts, the different part snapping, the tube bending even more broken than it is in the LDD, one may argue that it's not bad, just different & annoying for LDD users. Anyway, LDD forever for me. Something that bugs me about Studio btw, and it's the same think with Bricklink, Lego now owns both, and yet it's still the community that maintains models & part inventories. Lego owns high-res models of every part, but can't bother making them available in their own tools?

It used not to but yes it does now. Also B&P only half-counts as for free shipping. Even if you're above the threshold it weirdly requires a little shop item (& thus another package sent) in order to count, at least here in Europe. Anyone has noticed how you can not paste into the Bricks&Pieces part # anymore, in FireFox? I can still paste in the set ID in FireFox, and paste in the part # in Chrome. Weird. -
There are also very noticeably more BL shops in the dutch part of Belgium than in the french one. Yet Lego is very popular everywhere here. I would also consider that the dutch part, probably like the Nederlands, has more entrepreneurs in general. It's just not in the mentality here to open a BL shop. A lot of shops in the Nederlands, shame that their shipping rates are so high. It's cheaper to get stuff from like Portugal than from my neighbor country.

I can't imagine Lego letting you know. -
You've got to cut the parts from outside the submodel, enter the submodel, & paste them. Kinda sucks, yeah, in that aspect I prefer the LDD grouping. But submodels also have their pro's. You'd expect being able to move parts around in the model browser, from a parent to a submodel, but I don't think you can do that.
