I really hope that's not the case, TBB arriving from S@H today, and as my first pirate ship (well, excluding the LOTR one) I'm really looking forward to building it. The proof will be in the proverbial pudding I suppose.

Having only recently emerged from my dark age, the whole modular thing is brand new to me. Have a pet shop on backorder from S@H as my first, would be a bit of a nuisance trying to secure the cinema too before I even know if modulars is something I will be in to, after building the first one. So I appreciate the information, but desperately hope it isn't true.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I too have been wondering this, so have looked into it a bit since an answer wasn't immediately obvious. So the helmet seems to belong to this guy: His name is Tiree, AKA Gold Two, but he dies at the Battle of Yavin. There then seems to have been some prop-recycling when making Empire, since what appears to be the same helmet is seen on this guy at the back of the briefing before the battle of Hoth: So who's he? After a bit of digging, it seems this guy is called, according to an article published in Star Wars Insider 146, Habeer Zignean, aka Green Five. If you're interested in the names of other pilots at the briefing, here's a handy crib sheet: So, to give you the short answer, his name is Habeer Zignean. Edit: On a sidenote, the helmet held here by 12) Tarrin Datch seems to be more prop-recycling, and is Jek Porkins' helmet, so if you're looking to MOC the battle of Hoth and need more named characters and their helmets, there you go, look no further than 9493 -
In Europe the expected ship date has been changing from 30 days to "Expected ship date May 1st" to "...April 20th" and now back to May 1st again. As others have said, you should definitely receive it, but the exact details as to when are a bit murkier.

As someone who only recently got back into Lego, but doesn't yet own a single pirate ship (gasp! the horror! and other assorted exclamations) it is a bit reassuring to see that there doesn't seem to be much in it between the current ship and that from 6 years past, especially given how strong a nostalgia effect can be. True, Pirates 2009 may not be regarded as the halcyon days of the theme, but it's reassurring nevertheless for when I pick TBB up.

Not sure if you've noticed, but it looks like they're a BR exclusive here in Sweden. Both the ship and shipwreck defence cost MORE than buying direct from S@H, whereas treasure island and the soldier's outpost come in at 200 kr cheaper.I've not been to a physical store to check it out yet, but prices are listed on their website.

Aha, now I have it working. Seems like IE (posting at work) was the issue, ol' trusty Firefox saves the day. -
^The error with the misaligned black/white squares is well known, and involves a simple 90 degree rotation to correct it. If that's the error in the building instructions mentioned, withdrawing the set for almost half a year seems a little drastic.

That is brilliant, the brassiere in particular cracks me up. I really like what you've done to achieve the roots too.

Just practicing posting a quote... Didn't quite work, trying again... -
Utterly superb looking, that clocktower in particular just screams "Make sure to include me in a 2nd edition of the Steampunk Lego book!"

The T-rex moulds in the upcoming set(s) really aren't all that great, your brick built version is by far superior.

I agree, the goblin king really didn't do it for me in the film, and as such I'm not overly bothered about his fig. The dwarves are indeed nice though, articularly Dori and Nori. Ori on the other hand, I can't quite put my finger on it but there's just something about him that doesn't really match the film version.

I suspect he means that there is a set 79008 and 79010, but not one in the middle.

Hi there Eurobricks, I hope you're all doing splendidly today. My name's Mike, and I'm a Scottish/Scouse expat now living in Sweden. I have been lurking around here for a little while now, and figured it was high-time I registered me an account. Having been a fan of classic castle and town in my childhood, I was rather recently and insalubriously hauled out of my dark age by the Lego Ideas Research Institute of all things. As a researcher myself, when I stumbled across a piece on the BBC about the set I instantly knew I needed it. Once they had their Danish talons dug in good and deep, Lego sets from a good half-dozen themes screamed out to me, but thus far my attentions have mainly been given to OT Star Wars, Middle Earth, City arctic theme (again tying in with the whole research thing) and a few other miscellaneous sets here and there that caught my fancy. So far, collecting and building has pretty much been how it’s gone, but having seen some of the frankly stunning MOCs out there I suspect it’s only a matter until I have a bash myself. Don’t hold your breath for anything spectacular though. Anyway, that pretty much covers it I reckon. When I’m not working or sticking plastic bricks together you can likely find me white water kayaking, hiking, climbing, playing football or beach volleyball, or trying to explain the rules of cricket to Scandinavians in the pub. I look forward to getting to know you chaps and chappettes soon. Mike
