Good to hear your responses. You are acting in character, and I will do so shortly with a letter in response to @Bregir and the initial move you made as a nation. I agree we should play this out IC. Please keep in mind that it is part of the game, and I admit that real feelings came out in the heat of things. Mostly because the timing was exploiting Eslandolan players, in the aftermath of Ch V, but also because some communication should occur with those that quite possibly get their own plans affected. Be patient and rest assured, that I am doing my best to attribute to a solution that benefits both nations (Deep inside I am a hopeless egalitarian, although my Alter Ego does not concur). I think you have some good points. That's why I suggest future challenges are have a bigger span in judging criterias. Some favor story more, some technical, some humor. It is still a new game, and a lot of game mechanics needs to be tested and tweaked. I think this airing was healthy, for us to understand more of the IC and OOC different perspectives. I will go IC with an IC response to Montoya that addresses the need a new non-royal empire have to establish themselves as a legitimate state, and be treated as one. Our responses IC have not been out of proportion, from our point of view, nor had an aggressive form. We have been mild, but firm. A good rule is to try and visualize how you would respond if you were on the opposite side. As I mentioned in reply to Ayrlego, it is the timing I take issue with. Play along and let us get this resolved, without much further ado. I have an idea that hopefully benefits both factions and the community.- 780 replies

Major Oupsey-Daysington smells something fishy Major Oupsey-Daisington had taken a place in the sun, obviously a warrior tribe chair. He was enjoying his afternoon cocktail when he suddenly smelled something fishy. A group of natives fishers came walking in line towards his chair. They were part of the Mehuãtajir tribe. in Eslandola they were known for their fishing and trading skills. Major Oupsey-Daysington It seemed a girl was trying to explain that they offered him fish in subservience. But that was not the case. She was trying to explain that he sat upon the sacred ceremonial master fishers chair. The chair that was only to be sat in by the best fisher in the village. Natives trying to explain their culture to the Corlanders Major Oupsey-Daysington didn't understand a thing and conferred with his lieutenant, who tried to explain the situation, "She seems to be annoyed by our presence, we must go back and get reinforcements stat. Mind you, she is wearing a crown. The only kind of authority we respect, remember". Counting the score While the Mehuãtajir tribe determined who had gotten the biggest fish the Corlanders left silently. As you can see the Mehuãtajir tribe uses a wide array of fishing tools, and know all the different fish types are around the island. Major Oupsey-Daysington could swear something still smelled funny after they left to regroup. And his hat was soaked after laying on the wet beach. Feliz Natividad And lastly, a Mehuãtajir family painting, with the cather of the biggest fish on her rightful throne. Small culture build.

As soon as the Battle hardened White Glove Order veterans heard about the disaster in Malto, they set pace towards Malto. Attention! Forward! March! They had been hold up because of Mardiers scorched earth tactic. It was a horrible sight throughout the island. Whatever damage Mardier had done to Eslandola, they had done worse against their poorest. And now to hear that someone have sabotaged humanitarian aid. They arrived at Malto at dawn, to assist and relieve the humanitarian effort, and appreciate the help in these dire times.

You were lucky she did not get stranded. That is surely the biggest ship that have been so close to the northern shores shallow waters. Are you sure you have not invaded the tiny island on the top of the map? It is a perilous journey. Let us all hope it makes it back home again. OOC: Nice quay, tower, and use of the baseplate.

Kiwis! :D There's good eatin' on those they say. You should be able to harvest early by selling nearly-ripe to restocking ships. Another great microscale. It is so cute The pathway and vegetation are superb, and cozy little farm house. Makes me want to build more microscale, maybe even show a build publicly. Puerto Desafia are quickly becoming the microscale Capitol of the world.

I like the gables. How they keep the same width on the short side. Makes the building look tall. And the covered shed The tudor style was the inspiration for the agriculture school..- 12 replies

Cool ox cart. Nice use of the green hairs as food. First things first. That way of angling the base adds so much realism to any scene. Inspiring scene of hope.

The devastation Mardier left behind did not only leave the remaining citizens without housing and infrastructure. They even burned most of the crops. There were always fish and lemons, but in order to feed everyone it was dire need of some potatoes and a sprig of parsley. The WGO (White Glove Order) took this important task head on and restored one of burnt out war factories Mardier left behind. It should serve a new role. To bring the people knowledge of the earth and how to make the most nutritious fruits and vegetables. As a result The Instituto de Superior Agronomia (Agriculture School - small cultural microbuild license) was founded in Puerto Desafio. Isla de Victoria would not only become self sufficient, it would be an important resupply haven in the Prio Seas

Name: Puerto Desafio Ownership: Eslandola Location: Isla de Victoria, Prio Sea Map: Geographical Features: Mostly jungle on the inside, this larger island boasts an excellent natural bay on its south side at the Island's thinnest point. The north-east coast, however is very shallow, and rife with sandbars. The south-west coasts are rocky, but host naturally occurring groves of citrus fruit. In the center of the island towers a tall volcano that occasionally shakes the Island.Rumors: The Natives of this Island fear the deeper waters to the south. While they are more than happy to sail their catamarans in the northern shallow water, they refuse to do so on the southern coast. Mayor: To be determined. Trade Value: 105 (?) Town Bank: 0 Who can own property at Puerto Desafio: As in most Eslandolan settlements, people of all cultures are welcome to live in Puerto Desafio. Who can freebuild in Puerto Desafio: Anyone Description: The burnt out remains Mardier left behind have put this settlement in a crisis situation. A lot of effort are put in to take care of those that have been left behind, all their lives effort reduced to ash. The damage Mardier did against their own as they fled, left the first troops speechless, and the construction of a royal fortress was first priority when they arrived. At first it would serve as housing to the desperate, as they awaited the heavy bombardment guns. The fortress would serve as a base for the restorative works. The style of which the rebuilding will take are yet to be determined, but Eslandolan architects are hard at work on it. Others such as Mr Henderson, had already thought ahead and established a rum distillery, which came in handy to help motivate the exhausted troops to find that last piece of (cask) strength. Builds in Puerto Desafio: Please help us out by posting your a link to your Puerte Desafio builds in this thread. To easy the bureaucracy, it is nice if you mention which size it is. Licensee is Listed after the type of licence. Properties: 27/31 Size for EGS purposes - Level 2 'Town' Required for Level 4 'Large Town': 4 of anything. Residences: 4 small residences (4 points) Factories: 1 large (3 points), 1 small (1 point) Artisans: 2 medium (4 points) Commerce: 1 Large warehouses (3 points), 1 small (1 point) Art and Culture: 1 small (1 point) Educational: 1 small (1 point) Plantations: 1 medium Citrus (2 points), 1 small Kiwi (1 point) Mines: Forts: 1 Royal Fort (5 points) (1 out of 1 available) Troops: One battalion (90 men) of faction troops. Other Buildings: Vessels stationed here: Other related builds: Trade Value and settlement points may be inaccurate. I have counted as if they are licenced.

Is it possible to automate build form-monthly fb, so we don't have to post in the monthly free build thread. I keep forgetting it... There are so many steps: - Upload pictures - Post build - Build form - License form - Settlement thread/Ship thread - (Faction thread, if relevant) - Monthly FB thread

I have to agree, if I try to be neutral (part owner of Royal Property). I still think the size increments from small and up hinders my production on good small builds. If I throw together something just to do it, or if I try to make a smashing MOC I get the same monthly increase. If I try to build it bigger, it is often just stud fill. And often I think that can make builds worse. For me the current setup is counterproductive. I tend to try and "save" ideas in order to get a bigger property, and it often ends up with nothing (or a thousand projects that takes up parts, and hinders progress). And I think we are neglecting smaller than 16x16 builds. Think about the official sets. I want to be able to try and make realistic official size sets, and still get paid a little for them. I suggest a 8x8 at 2db/month, a 16x8 at 5db/month, and increase the pay for current sizes by 5. The size of towns may increase by accumulating these small builds (4 8x8 counts as 1 towards town size, 2 16x8 counts 1, one 16x8 +two 8x8 counts as 1). The reason I suggest this is because I think more people will have an easier time participating and enter something on a regular basis. And for TLG these smaller kind of builds can, perhaps in the future, serve as inspiration to release an official BoBs pirate set wave...? That would have been Awesome. I am starting to see the PIPs (and FIPs) as way more valuable than DBs, because there are no recurring income on those. Perhaps a universal tax on bankrolls, to reflect the cost associated wealth (accountants, security, vault rent, etc etc), could help to take some money out of the game. And add realism.

Eslandola Colonial Council, First Cycle, 617, IN SESSION
Sir Stig replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
"We want to create wealth through building the empire. We as a council only decide which way to go, the hard part is not the decisions, but following up and building the road. As such, it is appropriate to cut our salaries. We do not create jobs, the builders do. For future reference, I think we should keep in mind the income/expenditures on incentives, to a bigger degree than we have done so far. Gold is abundant, status are not. Which raises the question: Can the state give representatives and builders bigger influence (PIPs) rather than DBs for services and building effort? Our last vote was in favor of royal builds for the state, but making an effort for those takes focus away from personal projects. And we need to get those built to relieve tax pressure".- 76 replies

Upon hearing the news about Governor Guilders horrible injury. from Pontelli and Weelond, Colonel Oystridge woke from his slumber, and a fire lit in his dormant chest. A vein throbbed in his forehead as he wrote a letter to the Weelond Herald in reply to the new insights. "It is so relieving to read unbiased papers finally! The pernicious Kings Port Advertiser have done enough harm. How can we make up our minds when we can't even trust the news? Let the truth be heard, told by various sources. Be that Weelond Herald, Pontelli Daily, or any other accountants of history that are committed to seeing the whole painting. Strip away the lies, and the truth remains. We need town criers in all cities of the known world to tell our view on the stories told. Bardo will show it's support, for reports that accurately depicts the events as they unfolded, by funding a town squire, to inform all the people. Not only the few in charge that have the perks of literacy. I implores every settlement to employ town criers, obliged to letting all views be heard. I hope our city surgeon managed to save the soul essence of Governor Guilder, and that his experience did not mess with his headspace. Since the surgeon already know the specifics of Governor Guilders injuries, I think it best if the surgeon remains and opens an office in Weelond. Bardo will find someone to fill his position here".
