  1. Wanted to say that this is Hot stuff!
  2. Haha, I wish Thanks! Thanks man! I have always wanted to build a wheeled excavator, and I thought, why not to make it for the challenge! It turned out a lot better then I expected Thanks! I see that a lot of contenders for the challenge are making their models to look as good as there can be and maybe sacrificing even some functions for the looks. For me Technic has always meant functionality and that's why I tried to make everything to work just like the real deal Thanks! I hope so! Volvo would be a nice part donor There is a lot of good models out there already, and I think even better models will be posted closer to the end of the submission date Thanks! I don't know If I will post a lot of stuff here, I'm mainly based on Flickr, but maybe Technic creations I will start to post here
  3. 9. Wheeled Excavator Discussion thread For the [TC5] challenge I'm using 8071 Bucket truck And this is my model Functions: Working Steering via the gear on the back Front grader can be raised up or down Feet on the back side can be lowered, and raised Rotation of the upper structure via the gear on the side Boom can be raised and lowered Bucket is fully operational too Here you can see that functions are controlled by yellow gears on the right side of the excavator. The brown gear at the back controls steering. Front grader and rear feet are controlled manually. And the spare part photo - 55 parts left Video of functions can be found here (Older version of my model is seen in the video + sorry for the low quality) https://drive.google...w?usp=sharing
  4. Thanks everyone for the kind words and comments! updated the photos so you can see all the good stuff closer and better
  5. Thanks! That's just a WIP picture. In the end when I'll be totally happy with my C model I will take better pictures for the main entry topic Thanks! Thanks! Well, when I started to build this model I wasn't sure that I can pull it off, in the end it turned out better than expected. I guess you don't need to see the C model when you start building, you just need to know what do you want to build. Thanks for the kind words! Thanks! Thanks! Yeah, bucket mechanism is borrowed from original Lego sets, because I think that's the only viable solution without pneumatic or activator components.
  6. Thanks! When I will smooth down the rough edges of my model I will take better pictures and make some kind of presentation for the main entry topic Thanks! There is still a lot of parts left, maybe around 80 I think Thanks!
  7. Hello guys! I decided to participate in the [TC5] Challenge, and for this challenge I'm using 8071 Bucket truck And my C model is a Wheeled excavator. I wonder why does the TLG always make tracked excavators instead of wheeled ones. Functions: Working Steering via the gear on the back Front grader can be raised up or down Feet on the back side can be lowered, and raised Rotation of the upper structure via the gear on the side Boom can be raised and lowered Bucket is fully operational too Here you can see that functions are controlled by yellow gears on the right side of the excavator. The brown gear at the back controls steering. Front grader and rear feet are controlled manually. Close up shot of the rear feet and a closer look of the bucket And the spare part photo - 55 parts left Video of functions can be found here (Older version of my model is seen in the video + sorry for the low quality) https://drive.google...w?usp=sharing Leave comments and tell me what you think. Good day everyone!
