Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've seen the MkII in the comics, it is black and silver. I know in the comics and films it was repainted to be the Iron Partiot. The Lego version is their idea of what the Mk2 was going to look like, probably based on early concept art for Iron Man 3 (As was many other aspects) as such it is not an accurate representation of the MK2 instead having a colour scheme that is grey and silver. It also has detailing that is lacking on the Mk1 and Mk2 and the only reason anyone remotely calls it the Mk2 is due to the number on the figure. A similar arc reactor does not make it the exact same model. I think the faded version is just when he is phasing through things. I think they could do that given the transparent leg pieces in Ninjago's summer sets, but overall i doubt it. -

Pretty much the same here :3 Sorry but i think you are confused. Essentially we have never gotten a movie based War Machine armor at all. The closest movie accurate War Machine we have had is the Iron Patriot armor. The only other version of War Machine we currently have is in the Extremis Sea Port Battle set which is based on a variation of War Machine that only appeared in the game, which looking at it now isnt really based on either the Mk1 or Mk2... Mk1 War Machine (Iron Man 2 - 2010); Mk2 Game variation (Lego Marvel Superheroes 2013); Mk2 War Machine (Iron Man 3 Prequel Comics 2013/Avengers Age Of Ultron 2015); -
Guessing they will give away the most recogniseable mask, which is probably the Hau. Then again, they may end up giving out them all in various ways throughtout the year. True, seeing the Star Wars sets has given me a re-invisioned hope that 2016's sets will perhaps combine CCBS with Technic more effectively. The Darth Vader figure for example looks how i would desire a Titan scale new Bionicle. Guessing the leg pieces will be in other sets

So, which of the summer sets are people most looking forward to? :3 Just going to sum it up quickly; While we got a version for Iron Man 3, that was his original outfit that he wore in Iron Man 2. We didnt get the outfit he should have worn at the time which is the black and silver version which is War Machine Mk2. Just saying that their is an unnacounted variable and he is the only main Avenger not getting a figure. -

Sorry dude... but one of the Avengers is definitely going to kick the bucket and sadly its probably going to be him... My guess would be War Machine (Black and Silver/Gray version) Most likely this version given he wears it in AoU also and we never got it for Iron Man 3's line; -
IT BEGINS! Hunt For The Masks 2 Soon :3 Yeah, the shin guards. Despite Star Wars being a popular line, i doubt that new pieces introduced will solely be for that line, so we'll probably get a few new pieces from that line used in the new Bionicles. I remember a reddit user mentioned possibly seeing some sets and provided images of new pieces including a new launcher, but nothing to back-up his claims yet so that might not be legitimate.

For the story my theory is along the lines of a massive 'hunt for the masks' plotline over the first three years, each year having a different mask and introducing a different main hero or villain set. Maybe if we have more than three years then we'd have the Toa use the three masks to return from the time which they were summoned or something. 2015 - Ekimu + Mask of Creation 2016 - Makuta + Mask of Control 2017 - Mask Of Power demonic being + Mask Of Ultimate Power Guessing that it would be warriors, using the new leg piece we see on Darth Vader's set. Other than that not sure

For those wondering how accurate the Hydra Soldiers are (Mild spoilers that everyone already guessed) In essence, pretty accurate though its more grey, black and blue rather than just the overall grey blue and white of the figure. Should have had helmets and the chima fists/hands though Look forward to the pics :3 Might end up getting it then. -

So what colour hair did we decide was the best for Scarlet Witch out of the replacements? :s Might end up doing the same eventually. Would these look better on Quick Silver? Ok, i shall keep an eye out for it. Looked through the purist thread and it is mostly DC or comic based, whereas my figures i'm hoping to make movie accurate, but i think it could help :3 Dont think we will get Ghost Rider sets until we get a new film or TV show of him Yeah, seems like a plan :3 Not one for customising figures however might end up buying pre-customised pad printed parts for Captain America. -

Iron Legion seems unlikely because its only in the second most expensive set. Hydra Henchman is more likely because its in a fairly cheap set. Though personally i think a polybag would include a War Machine updated black and silver version, given he is the only main Avenger we know is in the movie who we have'nt gotten a figure of. One of the exclusive figures is likely the one that is included with the game. Not yet though its definitely something i'll get around to doing now, have a few 'upgrades in mind'. Though my main focus is finding good leg printing for Captain America, Thor and Quick Silver. -
Yeah, hopefully we never have another MOC'ing competition in future. Those would be awesome, though personally hoping for them to continue the 'scary' theme that the Skull villains are starting with ghosts and vampire inspired sets in future. It could be explained away as a 'Mask Of Preservation' and serve the same purpose :P I think the theory is a nice head-canon until we get confirmation of what the golden protector mask does.

Incorrect, Inhumans are now being introduced in the series and they ae taking the place of the X-Men mutants. Its an adaptation not a direct copy of the original story, Mutants are definitely not needed We get another? Also, any idea when the Lego Marvel Heroes figure will be revealed? :3 -

Just pointing out those reasons are precisely why i believe he would be killed off in the 2015 AoU film; -
True, i was more going under the belief that they will probably give them away because of how much making masks out of gold costs, having them sit around is unbeneficial to LEGO. Though you raise a good point with the gold haus, maybe we wont see the other masks given away...

Yeah, i can understand going back to the roots in terms of how complex the story is, but we could have multiple ways to tell the same story on the site. We had the Bionicle comics a while back and having them uploaded to the Bionicle site would at the very least be something. Even if its not particularly adding to the story we need something more than 9 animations spread out over the course of what was likely intended to be spread out over over half a year. Even if it isnt particularly like a main story element, giving us more to do on the site to keep fans returning would help. Just something more than just the animated episodes would be nice :3 Bionicle comic; http://40.media.tumblr.com/9185c44c3f5f4c6ca4e03ede8f32e3c0/tumblr_ni31xjwdO61s78ze0o4_1280.jpg

Spoilers tags might be best when posting spoilers; [spoiler.] [/spoiler.] (Just remove the '.') As for your theory; I agree, though i believe they are starting to do just that. Dont own it, but i prefer the look of the old shield. -

Wonder if we'll get any more Iron Man variants this year, like the comic con versions? I suppose we will get repeated figures (figures released in more than one set that are identical) but those will probably be restricted to Iron Man and Captain America given they are the focal point of Civil War generally. I suppose, though they have to scatter Black Panther and Spider-man in the sets for Civil War. Repeat figures might only be limited to Iron Man and Captain America. Unless they get killed off or something Not sure how they could have balanced teams if QS and SW choose to be on one side or the other xD -
Only issue i have with the pacing is that due to the leaks we have seen the Winter Storyline, and the Summer storyline will probably be covered in the books that are released in August (barely a month after the sets are released) so chances are we'll have read the Summer storyline before the full 9 or 10 Summer animations are uploaded... Though i do feel we need something more than the animations to keep us occupied as fans, potentially a game of some kind online similar to MNOG in that it develops the mythos while also being a fun game. The big leak was likely due to the way Youtube uploading works, it defaults the videos to public so chances are someone uploaded them all in a bunch and that caused them to instantly become public when they had finished uploading. Less a technical error on Lego's side and more that someone just forgot to switch from public to private before uploading. I'd guess the original intention was to release an episode every 2-3 weeks starting in January however the leaks disrupted that at the time and threw the schedule out of wack. Yeah, i can understand the feeling of a drought, though that seems to be entirely caused by the episodes all being released. I believe if it had'nt been leaked then people would have been fine waiting 2-3 week gaps between the animations. The issue Lego have found themselves in is that several locations have had the episodes all released, so they have nothing to give them now to keep them satisfied. So the choice remained as to whether to release all the episodes in english and suffer the same problem OR try and stick to the original schedule despite the leaks. They have chosen the second option, which i suppose is better as it does give us something to look forward to even if we've seen them already it'd help having a language we can understand. As for the competition idea you mentioned, they still have the 6 golden Toa masks which i guess would be given out this year (given we might recieve updated toa next year) You do raise a good point about the lack of coverage, i would'nt be entirely suprised if the first year of Bionicle's return blew most of its money early on with promotional events such as NYCC or other big events happening over the year. The message being mostly to get Bionicle sets out their and focus on selling the toys before they develop the story too much, which i theorise is another reason why the story is so condensed this year, so that it can get new fans next year without them having to bother with the 2015 storyline much. While i agree with you, i would like to point out one of the reasons fans were expecting a quicker story pace. Lego spent each year of Bionicle developing their media and promotions in order to target people more effectively. In this case while granted the current marketting mirors the original first years of Bionicle, people are hoping for marketting more like the later years because Lego was updating the marketting to be better each year and moving back to the original slow story beats was something that Lego strayed away from in the past, so not sure why they've went back to that now with Bionicle. Just seems odd to me why they went back to the basic formula that they'd already spent years improving on.

Their are actually about 7 Superhero characters on each side in Civil War. Though we wont get figures of the following in Civil War sets; - Thor - Doctor Strange - Winter Soldier - Ant-Man - Hulk - Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Agents Of Shield ------ Civil War Lego sets (Theory); Given the large cast i can easily see 3-4 sets based off the theme; Doctor Strange Lego sets (Theory); Is more than likely going to get a single set with 3-4 figures probably along the lines of the following; -
I believe their is only a winter and summer season of animations (which is still being made) so unless the summer animations are split into two story lines, i doubt it sadly. Though i would'nt be suprised if the Summer animations sets up the Winter 2016 story (similar to how the Winter Animations set up the summer animations)

Almost forgot about that... yeah that seems like the most likely option, possibly 1-2 sets of that eventually as i doubt they'd release all the new figures in a single set. -

Unless he's given away as a polybag then chances are we'll get it either with Civil War sets or alternatively with one of the Spider-man style sets. Especially seeing as Spider-man is now branching out into more heroes and villains other than just spidey, though i dont think an Ultimate Spider-man tv series Daredevil has appeared yet... Most likely we will get a comic book variant instead of the MCU variant though... -

Dont want to take up tons of space with reviews, so will probably only review them if asked or if people desire advice on which to get so that i dont end up filling up pages :P (Yeah, tempted to do that, but not much of a collector of the DC figures) Its from this one, an alternative version of TV Spot 2; No problem, i wish you luck on deciding :3
