Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ah yes, waiting until November 4th 2022 to discuss aspects of a plot revealed in May for sets released in October that were revealed in January... and the movie might even wind up delayed again anyway. I feel we should have a better option than just pretending we don't know information about the movie until after release, especially when such information could be relevant to people deciding which set to get - in a similar regard to how knowing the Quantum Suits in Endgame occupied only a few minutes of screentime - might have helped save people money and allowed them to focus on better sets. Might be wise holding off on the Daily Bugle and make the most of it when other Marvel stuff is released as the Shang Chi polybag probably won't be the only thing. Personally being Europe based, holding off on most the sets until August/September anyway to better plan purchases and would allow me to hopefully catch some offers. -

On the bright side, Spider-man NWH trailer should be the next thing... probably in early June. That should provide more to discuss xD Yeah, after the plot leak Eternals is something I'm staying clear of Even so the trailer did nothing for me. It really needed something like with Guardians Of The Galaxy where you are introduced to each character. In terms of Lego, definitely feel the spaceship is not the right colours - too bright and blue (unless the Spaceship has a power-up mode with blue) -

It's the MCU so they could take liberties with who gives Gargan his suit, perhaps Tinkerer or Oscorp or something. No chance the Lizard is going to get adapted before Scorpion though, as Scorpion was already introduced in the movies and we've not seen Dr Connors. For me the ideal movie would have been Kraven coming to New York to hunt Spider-man now his identity is public, with either the Lizard or Scorpion getting mixed up in it. That way we'd have developed Kraven, Vulture and Mysterio in the MCU so they could then take Electro, Doctor Octopus and Sandman from the other franchises to get a multiverse Sinister Six in a fourth film - at least then we have a movie developing each main Sinister Six member. -

Hopefully. IF info is true I feel this could easily overshadow Eternals in terms of popularity and I'd rather see them deliver on the Spider-man NWH wave. I'd expect a trailer in June: Probably showing off the two villains we are aware of, perhaps Scorpion who could show up prior set-up Main focus would likely be on Peter's interactions with Doctor Strange Ending shot or teaser would acknowledge the presence of the other Spider-men I feel that they would included the villains we are aware of currently such as Doc Ock or Electro - even if they intend to hide most the multiverse elements these are ones they have cast and have been fairly open about returning. I'd expect to see them in the trailer also. I'd also lean towards a villain such as Scorpion appearing in the first wave IF he is in the movie, he'd make a good choice for the cheaper set. The 19.99€ set would probably be Spider-man (Red/Black Suit), a supporting character (Aunt May?) and a villain (Scorpion) The 39,99€ set would probably be Spider-man (Red/Black Suit), Doctor Strange, two villains (Electro & Doc Ock) and a supporting character (MJ or Ned) Then IF we wind up with spoiler sets we'd likely get two so they could split the Webb and Raimi Spider-man out, it'd probably feature any remaining main villains and I'd guess any missing main supporting characters. I'd hope that Doc Ock would feature a similar tentacle build to the Daily Bugle. Sanctuary II should leak first - that is scheduled for August. After that has leaked, then we'll have a higher chance of CMF leaks. -

I'd rather get a Gladiator Iron Man & Ragnarok Style Hulkbuster mech than the WW2 Steve Rodgers Mech... but the WW2 Steve Rodgers Mech was rumored and reported on quite a while beforehand so it seems a lot more likely. At this point in the year I'm still waiting... need to see the CMF series before deciding upon any of the other sets fully. I'm hoping we'll have a surprise Drax (and hopefully Nebula) polybag to make the Benetar a little more justifiable a purchase. In a similar regards a polybag for the Daily Bugle would be nice. If no polybag, will be waiting till around August as we'll have the Shang Chi polybag then and I may settle with just that as opposed to getting the Shang Chi sets - after all Spider-man NWH might wind up getting more sets than what we are aware of currently and I'd anticipate a lot of focus on Doctor Strange MoM & Thor L&T next year along with hopefully some more Infinity Saga sets. Perhaps the body/head from the Hydro-Man attack set combined with Nya's water pieces from the summer sets (both the swirling leg piece and the back attachment pieces). Would not be comic accurate, but would be a neat designed Hydro-Man. Do be aware that some figures will probably wind up in sets in future. -

I don't think Lego is even aware of the problem of the misspelled screen honestly at the moment. -

I don't personally see why Disney/Marvel would prevent Lego including pre-existing figures in a big set in regards to the OG Sinister Six stuff. The rest... perhaps. I still feel the building looks a bit generic, skyscrapers have never really been my thing in terms of builds - but it could fit well with a cityscape. I feel the explosion adds character, but it is appreciated you can fix the building up without extra pieces. If I were to ever get the set chances are I'd change it so Green Goblin is breaking through the Window though and move that segment of the wall up to JJJ's office to somewhat replicate this scene, with the alternate facial expression you can even have Peter web his mouth closed. -

The suit in the trash also appeared in Spider-man 2, but I don't think it was used for a Daily Bugle article. I still want them to revisit the Raimi trilogy at some point, seeing how Doc Ock is done and the level of detail you can get out of characters, I really want them to re-do the Doc Ock Hideout set as a modular building. If anyone has made a modular version of that Hideout, let me know :P Then we should not have gotten Daredevil, Blade, Punisher or Firestar :p Needless to say that logic does not really fit here, especially when the set advertises the Spider-man villains and several of the heroes detract the attention away from Peter Parker/Spider-man - especially including Miles Morales or Spider-Ham in the set. Brings on a whole new focus of the set when you have those characters included as nowadays it's mentally linked to Spider-verse where the focus was not on one particular Spider-man, but several. In a similar regard the Clone Saga advert detracts from the importance of Peter Parker/Spider-man - because it implies Scarlet Spider is out there. If Spider-man is the focus then other heroes are a distraction from that. I think the reality is that Lego turned around and said no to aspects such as the Fantastic Four OR X-Men. They probably did not want the OG Sinister Six in a single set as it encourages multi-purchases to have them seperated out OR keep fans hooked waiting for a specific figure (Electro). Lego likely said no to including Big Figs in the D2C which could be an explanation for the lack of characters like Rhino OR Kingpin, if they intended either to be a minifigure chances are that they might want to save them for later like Morbius as releasing a comic version of Morbius when people are familiar with the character from a new movie is more likely to generate sales. In a similar regard the last live action version of Kingpin was in Daredevil which ended in 2018 and the last live action version of Rhino was in TASM2 which for most is regarded as the weakest Spider-man movie (Though with recent years I've came to enjoy that movie more than what the MCU does with the character) -

I feel that's nonsense honestly: You had Doc Ock, Vulture, Mysterio, Sandman and even Kraven as pre-existing figures you could have re-used. Maybe Electro would have required a new mold for his helmet piece, but otherwise you could have easily included the OG Sinister Six and simply swapped Electro for Green Goblin. The Human Torch may have been licensing issues, I can understand that and I'm guessing that's why Firestar was included. I can easily see them swapping out Firestar for Human Torch. Spider-Woman I see no reason as to why they could not have included her. He talks about capacity while shoving in Venom, Carnage and a bunch of civilian figures many of whom the set did not need :L Honestly, this set needed the OG Sinister Six to sell it to me. Chances are if we got a D2C Stark Tower or similar Iron Man associated D2C a majoirty of the Iron Man figures would be repeats - which admittedly makes sense as some have not been released in a long time. My main hope for Stark/Avengers Tower would be primarily a combination between Avengers and Age Of Ultron with some additional figures. In reality they probably did not want to remind people of how MJ should look as opposed to the MCU Spider-man version =/ -

I would'nt say torn apart, but it's definitely not intended for someone who has been collecting the Spider-man sets as you go along - otherwise you have most the figures that would convince you to get this set. This feels more like a catch-up or one-off set for someone who likes Spider-man but does not want to invest in collecting waves to get figures. -

They have took some liberties with the design, so comic accuracy is not something I feel can really be used as an excuse here. They seem to have decided on one of the oldest pieces of concept art, but even then this version was not particularly used much and they seem to have given it an extra layer... Personally I think they needed to vary the colours and design a bit more, perhaps do something akin to this version, that way you get different window sizes and designs and each layer feels unique. -

You really have to like the exterior modern skyscraper design of the building to justify this set and personally that's the weakest part of the set for me, it's not visually interesting and externally you have little to define this as the Daily Bugle other than stickers and the logo on the top. I think it's a bit of a letdown that they varied from the more detailed older New York style of building, at least then it would stand out if the stickers were removed. Misspelling of 'Curt Connors' as 'Kur Connors' is disappointing, not a fan of stickers at the best of times but innacurate stickers are annoying as it removes a key aspect that designates this as the Daily Bugle if removed or not applied. The inclusion of a New York Taxi is fine, but the Spider Buggy was not needed. In a similar sense the structure for Sandman and the Fire Escape I could have done without. The Fire Escape especially feels out of place with the rest of the build as it only shares colour scheme with the Daily Bugle Logo - but I suppose Lego wanted to try and distract from how bland/generic the main building is. A lot of figures are re-used or have been done elsewhere meaning I already own a lot of them, and the main appealing characters are not intrinsically tied to Spider-man but general Marvel characters. I would much rather have had the OG Sinister Six, or at the very least Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Vulture, Kraven and Mysterio (If they are saving off on Electro) as opposed to the inclusion of Venom and Carnage again. If they are going to re-use villains, then at the very least make it so we have a singular set with a majority of the Sinister Six. Out of the figures, most are not ones I am interested in and I doubt they'll expand on supporting characters of the ones I am interested in for quite a while (In which case it's more likely we'll see the characters again in future with more detail). We could have gotten Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn or Eddie Brock - but instead we go 'Literally Who?' in the form of Ron Barney (who has never appeared) and Amber Grant. This is going to be a pass from me, hopefully we'll get an Avengers/Stark Tower next year with a better design -

Nice compiled list. I'd be quite confused if we don't get Mary Jane Watson in this set honestly - and she needs an update. Though if the cabby is 'Bernie' then it might be Harry Osborn as the missing figure. Bernie is the nickname for Harry Osborn's driver in that show. -

I feel that most the prices are reasonable, but the Final Battle is overpriced (even with Thanos). I'll probably wait for discounts. Probably just an easter egg, and I'd expect if we wind up getting 'Into the Spider-Verse' next year as planned then we'll probably get some more Spider-man variants then. -

Honestly, you are joking, but this actually looks a lot more like the Daily Planet than the Daily Bugle... Remove the logo, screen and fire escape and just have a globe on the top from the Alderaan or Kamino set and you'd have the Daily Planet. -

If we are really going 25 figures, then my guesses for the 11 missing figures would be: Eddie Brock (Daily Bugle Employee + Alter-Ego of Venom) Robbie Robertson (Daily Bugle Employee) Ned Leeds (Daily Bugle Employee) Aunt May (Supporting character) Mary Jane Watson (Supporting character) Harry Osborn (Supporting character) Gwen Stacy (Supporting character + Alter-Ego of Spider-Gwen) Jessica Drew (Alter-Ego of Spider-Woman) Matt Murdock (Alter-Ego of Daredevil) Foggy Nelson (Supporting Character) New York Taxi Cab Driver All of these would be fairly plain figures, but it helps fill the ranks and they would be useful. The Taxi Cab Driver is expected given the remark about a New York Taxi Cab, perhaps they would make the driver look slightly like Stan Lee though I doubt they would be able to have him be Stan Lee. Confirmed: 14 of 14+: Civilians (3): Peter Parker, J.J.Jameson, Betty Brant + Villains (6): Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Mysterio, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, + Heroes (5): Spider-Man, Punisher, Daredevil, Spider-Woman, Spider Gwen @upliftingbricks Fixed it, ty
