  1. I'd be happy with just details on the figures :P
  2. True they are not exact copies, just based on the descriptions, though i doubt they will do more than necessary on the puported humanoid builds. The only set that may be similar to LoSS in terms of its complexity and functionality as Dorek is hoping for, in my opinion, is the Skull Scorpion.
  3. Yeah, makes sense we should see some kind of pics by then.
  4. I think its best for everyone in future if we dont immediately jump on everything and instantly believe it, take everything with a grain of salt :P Also, seeing as the set was not revealed at Brickfair today i would'nt be suprised if we dont see the set until January 28th. Maybe we'll get more info via London Toy Fair on the 20th though they dont tend to reveal pics. When?
  5. Think you may have missed the LDD's based off the set descriptions;
  6. When it has a 'buy now pay 3 months later' on Lego you can tell the price is too high :L Helicarrier will determine which of these i pick up. If i decided to get the Helicarrier i'll likely just pick up a couple of Iron Man Vs Ultron and The Hulkbuster Smash. The more i look at it, the worse the tower appears to be, it just looks so basic and empty designed solely around functionality rather than looks. Despite not having the original Quinjet, i do own the Milano so i dont really want a new Quinjet either. Only thing that drives me to get those sets is the figures. Wonder if they fixed the Super Jumper thing...
  7. I must admit looking at the leaks is both a help and a hinderance. By the time i usually go out to purchase the Winter sets i'm normally able to see the Summer sets and those most the time look better than the Winter Sets... possibly due to hype. As such i then tend to delay getting the Winter sets and wait till the Summer sets arrive, only then to find that the Winter sets for next year are about to appear and the process continues :P Ah ok, my mistake Not copies though the basic fact that they are both female and have similar proportions would make them on their own difficult to differentiate to someone unaware of Mona Lisa's smile. Its key aspects in either painting that make them different. If they find a method that works, thats great, but if they stick to using the same pieces for the same area of the body then its less varied and makes all the sets look similar. While the new pieces work i feel the fundamental design is flawed by the main idea of CCBS, which is to be simplistic and easy to make/use. You can only go to a certain level of complexity with CCBS pieces alone, as such the new sets have had to introduce the gearbox and more and more technic pieces to help increase the complexity, which results in them just being slapped onto the back of what is mostly a pure CCBS build in most cases. I dont think its at a breaking point, but it just seems that the CCBS system is becomming less and less reliable for Lego if they have to work around it by making parts designed to make the sets more complex and detailed. I'm not saying they were the only examples, just the most noticeable. I feel the same will issues will happen with the CCBS system as the core endoskeleton will likely remain for years to come and hasnt changed since 2011. The issues being, as i mentioned above, that the system itself lacks longivity on its own without introducing new pieces every year, especially seeing as the main new pieces for Chima or Hero Factory were designed for specific figures. It doesnt have the complexity or detail they are trying to aim for with the new Bionicle so whenever they use the already introduced pieces they seem out-of-place and much less detailed. They've backed themselves into a corner where new pieces are not just a choice, but are more of a necessity as they need to further differentiate themselves from the more simple looking pieces that came out before. Without a supply of new more detailed looking pieces such as the masks, weapons and new armour then it would'nt have the 'Bionicle' vibe that many fans desire.
  8. Love that piece, hopefully we get more like it in 2016
  9. I suppose we can count it as official in the statement that their will be a Helicarrier shaped set coming out in the future with a Quinjet :P Though it is possible that the other information we have on the set could just be rumours and/or the set might be releasing later than we thought. Though their is still the possibility that they just want to unviel it as a suprise for VIP's in February :p
  10. I was trying to point out that the addition of new pieces is the only thing that stops the powered-up mode being much more similar, without the new additions then the sets would be very similar Little odd that you converted stud sizes into meters... but ok. I was likely incorrect about the size proportions as i took apart CHI Gorzan for pieces shortly after getting him. I was referring to the powered-up mode where he has a mace that he gains from the Protector Of Earth. Was more on about the idea of large hands, general body proportions which i talked about. In which case they would both have bulky hands. As my point about them has always been, its been about the similarities between the sets brought up after noticing the similarities between the LDD Skull Grinder, Tahu and Kopaka. I mentioned that some are stylistic such as Onua and CHI Gorzan, in that the exterior proportions are similar, not exact as you have pointed out. I also mentioned that some aspects are directly copied like the leg design for Tahu being from Furno XL. What i was trying to start in this discussion was the question of whether if these sets hadnt included the new pieces would they have been more identical clones. If Onua had'nt included the gearbox would he have had the same body design as Gorzan? If he hadnt included the new shovel hand pieces would he have had the Chima large hand pieces instead to act as his claws? How much differentiation do we need to be able to say that one character is not simply another with a few small changes. E.g. Do you view the protectors as clone sets because of several sharing the same body designs and masks or are the recoloured pieces and weapons enough to vary them? Basically aspects like that, how much of the sets are duplicated and how much is varied and how much of the sets rely on new pieces? Are a few new pieces, minor changes or recolours all that seperates characters from being clones nowadays?
  11. - That is true, i was talking more from the MOC'ing community standpoint as it'd be easier to incorporate older pieces if we could attach the older armour to the new system. Though as you state it likely would be more trouble than its worth - Didnt think of that, good point. Maybe if they have a ball joint either side of a normal ball socket in the middle? Then you could still attach the CCBS armour while also attaching some of the older armour. Personally i view them as similar as shown by the shilouttes both share key features such as the main body looking fairly identical and the proportions of the build being as wide as it is tall, including a spiked mace, large upper chest that thins out lower. In addition if Onua had his shovel hands they'd both have the similar large hands. Though as i have mentioned its taking aspects of former sets and not directly copying the former sets due to new armour pieces and additions, it just looks similar in style in my opinion I mentioned the Inika build as an example here, the main structure is the same and varying aspects of the design are similar to what we've seen before and copied in certain cases such as the forementioned Tahu and Furno XL legs. Its a different design obviously, but its looks similar to what we had before, to me atleast. I'm here for Bionicle discussion and for other discussion topics on Eurobricks. The fact that its a Bionicle 2015 Discussion implies that we are meant to discuss things involved with Bionicle, preferably without someone like you who is not a moderator/admin questioning why i am here or belittling me for my contributions to the discussion. I talked about the Vahi and gave my own thoughts on it appearing and what it means and you shot me and others down for their own views on the subject just because they didnt support what TLG stated. The entire issue with the Vahi discussion that ended several pages back was that in your view, everyone other than you was incorrect and nobody was allowed to think anything differently because it contradicted the idea of how you defined a reboot. As such given you silenced all discussion on the subject we moved on to a different topic. As for the potential new sets, if they dont provide something to validate their claim or support it then its difficult to consider them as easy to trust viable information and at best can be taken with a grain of salt. Asking for them to give some more details so we can validate if they are telling the truth isnt derailing the topic, it is trying to confirm the information they give as legitimate. When we actually had a source that provided more detailed information i moved on from asking the other source to provide more details and instead moved on to other topics. If these were my only two things that i've done in this forum then i would'nt be talking about the CCBS system, giving my thoughts on the LDD design's based on the set descriptions, giving my thoughts on how the story and animations could happen and contributing to the discussion that has been changing instead of just focusing on certain aspects and dragging them up all the time. Instead of constantly asking me 'why are you here' you could have chosen to move on to the next topic also and be civil, instead you are choosing to pester me about discussing Bionicle on a Bionicle topic and thus derailing the topic in the process. Just because you personally dont agree with my opinions doesnt mean that i am automatically banished from the topic and in honesty your continued jabs at me are childish. I would much prefer if we simply talked about Bionicle without you choosing to be rude to me. Edit; Any further hostilities you have against me might be best to resolve outside of this topic if necessary.
  12. Yeah, that also. Keep forgetting that for some reason :L
  13. As long as an arm has two balljoint sockets you could build off it and connect the older pieces. Their are probably ways to do that currently, but it'd be much easier if you could just one of these to help connect the older pieces.
  14. I believe the most likely new bone type piece we will get is a piece that essentially combines the below pieces, as this would allow an increased level of MOC'ing with the older Bionicle pieces as you'd be able to use either a CCBS armour piece or a classic Bionicle armour piece Thats more a matter of perception... both have the same basic design. If you had a shiloutted image of Chi Gorzan compared to a shiloutted image of Power-up Onua it would be very difficult to tell them apart. They also share specific attributes that are the same in a similar way to how Tahu borrows the leg design of Furno XL. Its just the same basic designs being shifted around and switched up occasionally, its what happens when they stick to a system for a long period of time, they repeat the same basic build, like how the Inika build was used for so long
  15. Its yet to be officially confirmed yet we have an unknown VIP exclusive release in February releasing to the public in March, we have the set name, number and pricing. Its pretty much confirmed at this stage other than us actually seeing the set, though they likely are unvieling it somewhere special soon and thus have been told to keep it under wraps. Recent details such as the new details released mentioning a Lego employee had the instruction manual also hint that it is real.
  16. Was not a complaint against the system, just how TLG currently chooses to use the system. Though i do have my own issues with how the most complex and technic inspired set that uses the CCBS effectively we seem to be getting this year is Lord Of Skull Spiders. I know the CCBS system can be used to create amazing things, however currently it hasnt been used as effectively. By complex astethic i meant pieces like the new gold/silver/white armour pieces, weapons and masks. Varying pieces that help differentiate it from the other CCBS lines we've had in the past. An example being Onua who has a very similar general look to CHI Gorzan if you were to not add his chest sticker and weapons/should piece. As such i get the feeling we'll get more pieces each year to help further move the general look of the sets to being more recogniseable as Bionicle and differentiating it more from what we've had before even if the basic build is still the same.
  17. I kind of agree, with parts i've gotten recently from a couple of Chima Ultra Builds and Bionicle 2015 sets i've managed to recreate Skull Slicer, Skull Grinder and the Mask Maker with only some minor colour's missing. The easiest to replicate being Skull Grinder who is essentially a Tahu colour swap. My hope is that Skull Scorpio has a much more technic build and the recoloured pieces will be nice. I'm guessing they exhausted their new parts count as as such we wont get many more new pieces other than masks, prints, weapons and recolours this Summer. Though by 2016 we should see another batch of new pieces that will hopefully help move the sets more towards the complex Bionicle astethic. I'm pretty sure they all have seperate masks, or atleast varied masks as part of the descriptions listed recently stated that Skull Basher had horns which implies that that its a varied mask. I believe the general theory is that Skull Grinder has the Summer mask we've seen,
  18. In my theory it would be them attempting to prevent Ultron getting the body of Vision and failing to do so; Just another theory for Ragnarok based on the comics and mythology; The comic probably wont be out till March when the sets are likely released
  19. Just noting you replied to the wrong person, GK733 deserves the credit for the LDD designs :3
  20. Just quick thoughts on these; Skull Warrior - Looks alright, nothing too major. Feel like if i were to pass on a set, this would be it Skull Slicer - Seems like a good set for the technic pieces and odd colours, other than that at the moment it looks like i'd pass on it also Skull Basher - Probably the best of the three in terms of spikes and claws, feel like it'd be this set if i were to only get one of the cheaper sets Skull Scorpio - Not much to say, essentially LoSS just with more articulation. Might get it, but depends on whether we get another printed face Mask Maker Vs Skull Grinder; Little disappointed that its just a large Tahu/Kopaka style villain fighting a Protector, but it does seem like a good set. Two Gear Boxes for essentially a Toa + Protector is a good deal. If this does contain the Mask of Creation i'll definitely be picking up two, though the villain's colour scheme disappoints.
  21. Glad you like it :) After Iron Man 3's Lego i'm no longer placing all my chips on the sets being an exact representation of scenes from the film, just as a basis i guess. I mean we only really know that the Attack On Avengers Tower, Hulkbuster Battle and the Raid On Hydra Base actually happen in the film. The army builder set is likely just a way of gettting a bunch of Ultron's and Iron Man with the vehicle thrown in. Its probably a very cheap representation of a scaled-down version of what happens in the concept art with the Ultron's fighting the Avengers. The 'Duel' style set with Thor, Hawkeye and a Hydra figure may happen, but easily could just be their as a way of getting Hawkeye in a seperate set. Either way, i'm just looking forward to seeing the Helicarrier and more sets at the moment. Hopefully we'll get official pics soon
  22. When combining varying colours for example you either create an additive colour (White) or a subtractive colour (Black) Which could be mirrored in the idea that all the elements either create a 'Mask Of Light' or a 'Mask Of Darkness' It would be a nice twist and help differentiate this more from the previous generation while also introducing a nice twist on the idea of Power corrupting whoever has it. Yeah, i could see it happening either way. Their is also the possibility that Makuta turns good, though i view that as less likely if Lego want to stick to their formula of having the bad guy be defeated then come back more powerful than before. I think the mask itself is like the Ignika in the sense that its is sentient and has an ability to control a host (When Makuta put it on it took control over him) so its possible it could depend on the willpower of the Toa. Its an intriguing thought and could be a nice way to introduce a 7th Toa or even a new villain to replace Makuta after 2016. (I can see us getting a Makuta set with the Mask Of Control in 2016) I know its not exact, but i just think the idea of combining all the elements into a single mask is very remiscent of the idea of unity of the six toa to get the seventh Toa. The changes can be attributed as you said to either artistic license or that its different similar to how the new Toa masks only carry certain aspects of the old. Either way, its just a fun thing to speculate until we get more set information. Though i'll be happy getting the mask eventually regardless
  23. True, i just mean all the in-story/animation refrences to Time; - Temple Of Time - 'Running out of time' - Mask Of Time Whatever the case whether its connected to the old universe or not i feel we'll probably see them explore Time Travel if it continues for more than the three years. Same about Makuta, get the feelings its the Mask Of Ultimate Power that is evil. Kind of like a metaphor for drugs, the person themselves isnt really evil they were just corrupted by power. A Toa of Time could also work as a seventh Toa or as a different character who comes in to explain the creation of the Mask Of Time in this timeline, if its indeed not connected to the other. As for the Takanuva concept i've had a theory for a while now that the MoUP when it appears in set form will be the Avohkii or atleast a variation of that mask, given both masks have the six prongs on the side.
  24. Fun theory based on the Lego sets and trailers
  25. Just speculation here, but here is how it seems to be going; Future storylines could then have them using the Mask Of Time to travel back to their original time which may or may not be from the Mata-verse OR staying to protect the Okoto citizens. Their is also the question of the Prophecy, so if it continues past the Mask Of Ultimate Power storyline we may see them travel back in time to an older time on Okoto. I get the feeling the whole focus on time is less a nod to the past and more telling us that the past is still in continuity. I just dont get why they'd have the memory loss if it means nothing in the long-run.
