  1. Start out by saying most impressive!. It look really great but I will have to agree with Cavegod on the dimensions, something just looks a little off. The nose needs lengthening to stop it looking too bulky at the back. The colours look spot on and I love the technique used for the rear of the engines.
  2. Congrats on the win, what did you get for first place? I love that piano like everyone else, really nice design. The keyboard keys are beautiful.
  3. Wow Tontus, these are lovely. I've been tempted to do the same myself. I cant wait to see more UCS astromech's come off the production line.
  4. How about the 7111 droid fighter from way back in 99. It had the worst play features and bad colouring compared the the much better, redesigned representations in later years. You had to pull the wings off to transform it. The new design is one of my favourite ships/droids Lego has made, for its size it looks accurate and the folding wings and pop up rotating head is genius. You didn't get a Minifig with the set with makes it for the cheapest set to buy second hand and it's 13-14 years old (usually SW set go up in price over the years). You can currently buy it brand new on bricklink for less that the RRP. Also hated the original Falcon, AT-ST and the original slave 1.
  5. Great little story and build sealslip3. I love the fact that he looks after the plant, give him heart and less robotic. The build does have that Wall-E feel about it. Good luck in the comp!
  6. This is an awesome idea and I could see me buying these if Cuusoo becomes a reality.
  7. Wow what a fun display with so much going on. You can spend a few minutes looking and still overlook a lot of things going on in the scene.
  8. It's looking aright so far, much better than TLG version years ago. I'll have to agree that the front looks bare uncovered but can see why you have done this. Can wait to see him in action. Good luck in the comp.
  9. I'm not after another UCS R2 but I wont say no to one. I just thought it was a cool contest and wanted to enter. I am missing some of those Minifig astromech's though. 5th place would suite me fine. Thanks, I did design it from a scene from Star Wars to use as reference. I originally wanted to do the astromech docking bay from the Naboo starship which is similar to your last pic you posted for your entry. When looking at the UCS scomplink it need some beefing up and more detail them I had the idea of making a large scale control panel for the UCS r2 to interface. I hope I bent the rules enough to make my entry original and still be able to enter. I did purposely post this a little late so others would not have so much time to steal my idea. Its always great to do something original and get a better result when there are no other build to compare it to. I'm sure a lot of talented builder in this community would blow my entry out of the water if building the same thing. I'm sure someone will have a similar idea as me, well we will have to wait and see. Thanks for the comments guys.
  10. Nice work WWWally. The clock idea is awesome and the build is marvellous. I would love to see some other details on there like peoples ideas with the numbers and clock hands. The only thing that I think brings it down for me is the non-Lego clock hands, being entirely made out of Lego would be great. Good luck with the Cuusoo project.
  11. It looks really great so far. The last pic looks similar to my original idea inside the naboo starship. Those astro docking bays are reminiscent of that scene.
  12. here's my entry . R2 Saving the Day.
  13. Looks like TLG might be fishing around for ideas for what fans want for the addition to the palace(AKA Rancor Pit)??? Could be fun if anyone can enter, I'm a Lego Club member.
  14. R2D2's Scomplink Astromech Workplace Contest: R2 Saving the Day Hay Guys, Here is my entry: R2D2 saving the day again as always buy interfacing to the computer system with his scomplink to gain control of the doors. Approaching the scomplink interface pannel. Inserting the scomplink. Accessing the computer system. R2 Checking his back. I made the grill light up with the red light brick so the whole build is entirely made out of Lego. I beefed up R2's scomplink compared to the original that came with the UCS R2 for more detail but is too long to retract into the body like the sets feature. I ran out of white tiles for he floor so I could not make it very large and could not get a photo from very far away from the wall. Overall I'm pleased with my entry, its not in Minifig scale but I wanted to do something different.
  15. That looks awesome. I love the new and old idea and there is so much going on in the build. I've been waiting to see this after you told me you where working on it.
  16. Ha ha! I found a pic of him. Nice interview guys. Very informative and gets me beat how you afford to buy your Lego, how you find time to build those awesome creations with a family, full time job and other hobbies. Your work is very skilful and how you get those build out so quickly is beyond me. Im always getting excited seeing your creations come to life with your updating posts. You are in inspiration to me and many other builders in the Lego community, keep up the mad work. Also nice to check out your web site ans see many other build I missed in the past or being too immersed in the Star Wars form to check out the other themes.
  17. Nice work. It looks big, accurate and detailed. The forest is thick and lush and the ground also looks great. Your bunker looks awesome and you have done a good job on getting the angles in the panelling.
  18. Last time I checked bircklink around $5000 US but added more since. I'd say I would be around the $6000 mark. The Brick store program is good for checking $ of your collection and syncing the prices from bricklink.
  19. Thanks guys for the kind comments. I was worried a bit but luckily no one went missing. That's why Jango and CC Boba didn't come along to the show. Your more than welcome to take anything you want from the display design wise that's why I've posted it.
  20. WOW! I wondered how you could afford all of those Genosian warriors but then in the last shot I can see how you got so many, nice technique. The scene, like all of you builds is epic. So much to look at and so many details, well done Apcin.
  21. Those prizes are awesome, I must start thinking of my entry???
  22. This is going to be epic. Can't wait for the final pics. That final teaser still dosent show the whole thing
  23. Ill try and get some other pics up from different angles. Currently the minifigs are off the stand as I transported it from the show to my home and it was a bumpy ride in the car. The whole stand apart from the stand feet is only 2 studs deep. I wanted to try and keep it a thin as possible, and in doing so the stand is a little wobbly but sturdy enough to withstand all the kids leaning and bumping the table over the week end. I want to extend the build and make it a little more sturdy as when it gets bigger it will become more prone to falling over. I want to slightly redesign it to make it sturdy. May need a bricklink order but currently it completely made out of my current my collection.
  24. Hay guys, Its been a while since I posted but Sydney held it's first Sydney brick exhibition at the Power House Museum last week end and I have been working on a Minifig display stand to showcase my Star Wars Minifig collection. It currently has 201 minifigs in the picture but can hold more but some figs are displayed taking up more than 4 studs (like Jabba). I ran out of black slopes and plates to make it may bigger. Also my Darth Maul portrait has taken a lot of my black plates ATM. I built a small death star, two ties, a Millennium Falcon and some stars as after I built the frame with the Star Wars logo it looked very plain. I intended on lighting up the Death star beam and the falcon's engine with official Lego lights but I only have the old incandescent style lights from the police cars but they where not bright enough so I left them out. I will try and get some LED lighting and add it in the future as well as extend the stand up a few more rows once I get more parts. Eventually I would like to have all the SW minifigs on the stand but first I need to collect them all then extend the stand, all in good time. The stand was very successful with the young kids coming trough the exhibition. They all stood their for a while pointing, staring and drooling over the Star Wars Minifigs. I think my stand got more attention than the massive creations on display as every kid just loves Minifigs. It was great to have on display for the show as may kids and parents where saying they didn't even know they had a Jabba minifig and some of the older rarer figs they hadent seen before. I also get asked where Jango Fett was about 100 times but he was left home with Could City Boba nice and safe. All up after a quick look on the brick store program referencing bricklink with last 6 months average prices I had just over $1800 US worth of Minigs on display.
  25. I'll have to agree with you Mr Man, he looks like his head is too big and he is going to fall over under its weight. The original fig looks much better in size comparison. Just add printed details to the old mould and I would have been happy. Leia's helmet dose look way too big and the plate for the backpack isn't helping with the height. Anyway still and awesome set for the new figs and will be defiantly getting this but from somewhere other than Australia, $199 is too much, ouch !
