From Death Star II to Minifig - a Journey through Scale
wokajablocka replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That is a really cool concept. The scale of the death star in unimaginable but this puts it more into perspective. -
Thanks for the pics. There are some very impressive MOC's there. I wish I could have got down to Melbourn to see this event. I must make the trip to Canberra in a few months and not miss out on that.

I picked up the Droid Escape and Death star planet sets on the week end. The Droid Escape is just awesome. The new figs look brilliant.

I was thinking the same thing . Make him a little taller with out strching him too much. If I was not so lazy I would take a pic and post.

The only problem I have with Darth maul is that the old print looked more evil than the new. If you dont like the horns they are easily removable. I wonder with Darth Mauls returning in the clone wars in 2012, will we see another version of him in the future? May be with cyborg legs perhaps?

That's awesome, I have always wanted to do a build like this. I've been very tempted to buy a Yoda or Darth Maul set like this. Looks like a fun but some what difficult build.

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
wokajablocka replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Nice to know the final prices. I still want to wait to they go on sale. $18 for the battle pack don't seem right? I though they where going to be close to $22 each. Not complaining though, just stating what I've noticed. -
Out of your sarcastic ideas this one is very feasible, cheap and I been waiting for a re-do on the Scout troopers. I was really waiting to see the new fig in the 2012 Endor battle pack but I will still have to wait. Lego has been working on accuracy with the last few years of SW figs, going from yellow to flesh and now we are bombarded with custom moulds that are IMO getting too detailed and leaning away from the iconic Lego minifig look.

I think it looks aright much better at this size than the origianl. I did try and get reference pics to compare but busy @ work but I can see an improvement. I would probably replace the 2x1 stud in the grebeling as it looks out of place. But apart from that I think your on the right track. Wait until Fallenangel has a look, Im sure he can point you to some goo reference pics .

[MOC] A Jedi Exile's life after Order 66
wokajablocka replied to Ninja Nin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice creation and clever original idea Ninja Nin. I like the cave just enough details and and thing around to lead your eye around the MOC. I love the lighting, the cave looks live it goes pretty deep in the first shot. -
They got the poor Stormies to clean the windows in the Lego complete saga game.

Between me and my son we have nearly 300 complete sets and around 120 of these are SW. So just over 1/3 of my collection is SW. I have bought many bulk lots over the years so I have alot of spar parts that Im sure I have complete sets I'm as well. My personal collection with out my sons would be 90% or higher. I buy small sets on sale but give most to my son for playing. With Superheroes and LOR comming this year my percentage will unfortunately be going down .

Great scene. Im sure if ILYA had enough parts he would make it tiled. I was disapointed with the my Feeding time MOC as I did not have enough tiles to make the scene smooth. In most caes the snot makes the build feel smooth, clean and finished. Every now and then studs look good for variation and texture but it depends on that your after.
-
Good recreation in real bricks jonnyboyca . Nice to finnaly see this in real brick form. I want to see the final pics with all figs. He wants to get the figs from the 2012 X-wing and Y-wing to finish the scene. Apart from that it look pritty finished.

Review: 9676 TIE Interceptor & Death Star
wokajablocka replied to mutley777's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks Muttly777. The window peice will be great to use in SW mocs. As for the Death Star, surly they could have at least printed the dam thing. The other planets have full printing. I would have like to see it printed even if they left out the texture. A print would have looked accurite and made it more detailed. With out any printing it looks quite plane and unfinished. -
I like the interview Oky. Its nice to know a little more about our EB staff and where they came from. I cant help thinking every time I see KimT's avitar he is holding a Koala bear. I know its a clone helmet but maybe some of my Aussie members can see this as well. The first time i saw it I thought he was from Australia. I have PM KimT befor thanking him for his tireless work on the SW fourm. As well I also made a purches from him a few years ago through ebay and he sent me out a free poster with the Lego I purchased. See he is a awsome guy that dose alot for the Lego SW community. Keep it up

Awsome job, I can see your skills are improving. I love the head adn the snoit work on the body. IMO its a little better than Moods Boba, the head just looks more accurite. Moods version had better hands and the leg connections are way better. Your version looks a little bulky around the ankles/knees or what ever that part of the fig is. Great job, and keep up the work.

Nice frigate, you can can see alot of work has gon into it. Plenty of detailing but it dose look a but wide. Aprt from that great job, I havent seen one of these built before in lego.

Eurobricks Star Wars Community Build

Hay KielDaMan, can I grab an imperial symbol? I originally wanted the Rebel one but most people went for that one so I thought I would go with the Imperial . -
Thanks everyone for the comment, I really put alot of time a effort into this and it seemed to pay off. I wanted to try and get the details right as well as the lighting. I spent a few hours playing with Salacious trying to get him right as he had to be their and keeping him around minifig fig scale was hard. He has no legs or tail but his colour is pritty correct, i was just missing his black beak. Thanks man, I did put more into it than it looks. I made the stairs that leads you down to Jabbas throne room and its not even in the pic. I rebuit the BBQ 3 times after finding more parts each time. The wall Lando is standing next to was rebuilt 4 times trying to get it right. The main arch over Jabba was buit upside down as I didnt have enough up slopes in tan and took a while to intergrate it seemlessly to the other wall. A lot of time but had fun . Thanks Doc, I wanted to finnaly make something worthy. I tryed to make the skin mats that Leia was sitting on with DK Tan but its hard to see and I left out the pillows but apart from that everything should be there. Yeah it dose look unfinished but my ambishion got the best of me. The scene grew bigger and bigger and I ran out of parts. I would have realy liked to build the whole throme room with sitting areas behind the arches and Jabbas prize, Han on the wall but I just cant do it. Originally it was only going to be about a 16x16 vig but look how it ended up . I wanted to show the stairs and other entrance and a diffent angle, IMO I will show it agin inthe futrue as I do like to see how people make their MOC's. Unfortunalty my MOC can only be viewd from one angle, the angle from the screen grab from the move from the refrence unlike somthing like Elanders Scrap Press which is beutiful inside and out. Thanks again guys, cant wait to get time to my next build.
