Have you added the MRCA results from the last MRCA? I've prepared everything for you, you just need to import it ;)

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yeah, I‘ll also agree with Drunknok here - exceptions are always prone to cause trouble down the line. -
Careful planning, high range and loads of cargo. That ship alone has made me over 8300 DBs since I licensed it after losing Green Winds II in January.

Pretty sure Captain Genaro was working on that before he got really busy. Pretty sure @Phred can check it though. -
Looking good! I can see your troubles with the bow, and I have a handful of inspirations for you: So, what do all these have in common? - slopes for the beakhead start out at least one stud out from the bottom of the hull (some even two) - bottom headrail starts at a little bit lower then the gundeck, ideally still in the black stripe below - top of the beakhead is about the same height as the upper deck or even further up (with the figurehead mounted in front of it) - the use at least 2 longer slopes To get the mast out of the way you can move the mount up or change the angle a bit. I also like putting a small deck between the headrails, only have one example pic of a current WIP: I usually keep a handful of ship plans around while building a ship - the headrails and small deck around the bow seem to form a triangle most of the time (angle depends on the type of vessel) Hope some of this helps for the bow Planning to make the stern custom too? Seems a little odd with everything else custom Also the connection between custom to prefab seems a little rough - coming from a 4 long section to a much longer section with the prefabs.

Green/tan frigate dark blue/tan frigate For this year participating in one of these gatherings is a bit too late, we are meeting this weekend at Brickmania Antwerpen, but next year there is another chance- 53 replies

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Legostone replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Bregir I liked the old stern on the ship of the line a bit more tbh, the lower level windows look odd in the hull. I've already mentioned this vessel a fair number of times, but following the idea of a single decked cabin in a SOTL like La Fama seems pretty good: Also, moving the top headrails ends further up (but keeping the middle part down) would drastically improve the bow I'm pretty sure, you should try that. @Bodi Nice Fluyt :D I want to build one of those too at some point, and class 7 seems spot on for me ;)@Mesabi Your best looking vessel yet! The Steering Wheel is a bit out of place though, that only came into use around the 18th century, but I guess in BOBS everything is acceptable. Regarding size - given the obvious bulk of a carrack I'm unsure how it would fit into the current class system, class 3 seems a little small to me here. I think despite it being only a single midsection I wouldn't be opposed to a class 4 here (@Bregir ?) For the masts either listen to Bregir or keep them a single piece - I'm pretty sure carracks with pole masts (=single piece) weren't an unseen sight. Rowing boats at the side are fine (though I think I prefer hanging them from the stern as suggested by bregir), but not in the current way. How would you release them? Tipping them over the side? A pair of davits per boat should solve it, either at the stern or on either side is fine. -

Fortification is defensive, so probably not that fitting. I think art and culture would probably still fitting best. Unless you have your prisoners work, then you can make it a factory I guess -
If anyone has issues submitting their orders please tell us now instead of waiting until the weekend. If anyone needs a little more time for their AMRCA, please request it here (though ideally that should happen before the deadline!)

In this context: Open Deck: 1 deck: 2 Decks: Seeing this topic pop up multiple times, with different people (including others having issues with my picked class), I have a feeling we may need to revisit the guidelines or get together a small panel of non-leadership members to decide on ship level. If any of you have any particular suggestions, either write them down somewhere in one of the public threads (lets not derail this one further) or PM me and I'll forward it. I would rather have everyone be happy with the system then this what we have right now.

Is it possible that we change that in the future? I see no problem if both vessels start in the same Zone.

[Mesabi-AMCRA] The Throne of Gonda

Burned out carriages? Wrecks in the Harbour? What more is to come? -
I think class 6 would be fitting a tad better. Most class 7 vessels currently are 2 deckers or very large frigates of 28+ guns. Going with the "sleek" example here - pretty sure I'm counting 5 midsections there, but the vessel is still kept compact and fairly low. Ship looks good though, though I would've liked a more elaborate stern and bow, I know @LM71Blackbird can do that if he wants to I'll recommend starting the headrails further down on the bow on such a low vessel though - La Comete's headrails start 2 plates above the prefab piece, and the hull extends 7 studs above that still... No open gunports? Not enough budget left for some salute shots? Glad to see an active crew aboard!

quick reminder for everyone, don't forget to submit your forms ;) (or ask someone to submit them if there are issues!)

BOBS cards should be active on the vessels now. Need to add a star or something to note that in the future...
-
How many troops are you raising? Nice build showing them off btw
-
No, thats not nearly enough gold, a ship like that needs to be heavy enough to just barely not sink because of all the gold on it

I’ll take care of applying bobs cards before the mrca ;)
-
At least for vessels this applies. Would be surprised if it wasn’t the same for other stuff ;)

Just PM me (or one of your faction members if you don't want me to have a detailed look at your stats) and they or me will take care of it
