Clever design. I'd have never thought of using one of those old wind up motors for such a contraption. Ingenious the way you made the "suspension" work to guide around the track, but still have motive power.

Hobby Trains alternative build 16 Bo-Bo e-lok motorized
Feuer Zug replied to idlemarvel's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice adaptation to PUp. Your work looks good while retaining the character of the original set. There's nothing wrong with staying on 6-wide locomotives and rolling stock either. I do it for similar reasons. It can be challenging at times, but as long as you're having fun, that's what counts. -
Well done. Plenty of details and functionality.

Wicked holiday Star Wars model. Nice to see Vader can dress for the season.

[GBW] I15 – PDSRE – Short field landing
Feuer Zug replied to Feuer Zug's topic in The Great Brick War
Thank you. It's hard to do aviation without big scenery. Thanks. I don't have a "photo set" for this. It's so large, I placed it on the basement floor and cropped it. As for the aircraft, my 6-wide are the biggest I build. 8-wide would take up way too much space. Creating a quick cockpit view allows me to get intimate with the flight crew, yet not have to go full scale. Many thanks. -
For a gateway option to enter in, I'm thinking a way to assist a faction with a build or two, but not be a full time player. As mentioned, I'd never thought about joining this because my focus is real world aircraft as a small scale. Building the landing strip scene took a lot of parts and space for me. If you can get people interested with a small/fun one off build, they might stick around.

Major Ivan "Weasel" Brickinov surveyed the terrain outside the cockpit of his four-engined cargo aircraft. Spotting the ruined cement plant, he knew he was in the proper area. Following the road with his eyes, he found what he was looking for. A 1.5-kilometer-long straight stretch of road was within the rough field capabilities of his aircraft. Conducting an overflight of the road, he descended to treetop height. The road was cracked, but he didn’t see any major potholes or other obstacles. “I intend to touch down at the sunflower,” he told his co-pilot, Sub-Lieutenant Dmitri Rodin. Stealing a glance at his young co-pilot in his peripheral vision, he smirked. Sub-Lieutenant Rodin’s facial expression was priceless. “How do you know which way to land?” Rodin protested, not knowing the wind direction or speed. Brickinov pointed at a house in the distance. Smoke wafted slowly from the chimney left to right. “That.” Behind the pilots, the loadmaster, Sergeant Major Anatoly Gurkin yelled to the passengers, “Brace for landing!” Turning back to the cockpit, he unlocked his phone and hit play. Wagner’s “Flight of the Valkyries” began blaring through the cargo hold. On final, Major Brickinov ran through the checklist, having Rodin drop the landing gear and flaps. Coming in low, he touched down beside the sunflower with a puff of smoke. “Reverse the props,” Brickinov ordered while applying the brakes. Coming to a stop near a disused side road, the loadmaster dropped the rear ramp and the security team ran out the ramp. While the team reconnoitered the site, Brickinov turned the aircraft around, ready to takeoff at a moment’s notice. After the engines were shut off, the maintenance crew disembarked and began bedding down their aircraft while the pilots cocked it for an alert takeoff. The cook, Sergeant Gregori Federoff, grabbed a chainsaw and headed off to start chopping lumber to make a fire. While Corporal Tanya Melnikova checks out the horse skeleton, Warrant Officer Natasha Kirpichov rigs up the satellite terminal. She reestablishes comms back to the PDSRE via voice and datalink. Without a local cell phone, she won’t be able to stream her forbidden anime without the datalink. Tactical air traffic controller Sergeant Boris Nogoodnik begins gathering data for flight operations. He sets up a weather station and a makeshift windsock. The loadmaster gets the assistance of the maintainers to begin unloading the cargo. Rough field conditions means everything has to be done by hand. Yes, that is a 8G456 IR MANPADS, and it could be happy to see you.

[GBW] H13 - Romgaria - Desert Eagle
Feuer Zug replied to Professor Thaum's topic in The Great Brick War
Nice looking scene. That's a good defensive position with options. Plants aren't necessary in a desert environment. -
Nice mail car. Simple is elegant in this instance. Many people model the glamorous cars and consists, but the mail is an important part of life. Kudos for delving into the rarely considered car types.

Merry Chrispocmas - A Nuclear Winter MOC
Feuer Zug replied to Dutch Thriceman's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Great work. Small, but well detailed. Reminds me of the Weird Al song "Christmas at Ground Zero". All we need is a mushroom cloud. -
Incredible. This is only the top of the mast. I'd love to see what you can do when you go big (bigger).
-
Quite the castle. You've got plenty of detail and the studs in strategic places look great.
-
Utterly astonished. This is an incredible development. Your design is fantastic and retains everything required to function in both worlds.

Nice work downsizing your locomotives to 4-wide. They are instantly recognizable.

Nice looking caboose. 6-wide by appearance? Do you have any other angle pictures? -
Great looking classic roadster. Ready for Mulsanne.

[MOC] Hover Cyberpunkish Citroën DS - Flying Taxi
Feuer Zug replied to Sérgio's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Nice modification of your classic Citroen. I can see the electric car mods starting with it, then adding on the reactor, repulsor lifts, and more. -
As the newest guy (5 months since the last, and only on a couple weeks), I don't have much experience, but Brickwolf makes a number of good points. The pacing does seem slow. Territorial expansion is slow and not much happening. It'll be ages before sides come into conflict. Maybe start the next round with closer points, but still leave room for expansion in the middle along a broad front. I don't have an answer to motivation and recruitment other than keep it fast paced. Maybe put an easy size minimum requirement on builds required to take over unoccupied territory. Let the fights require the big and detailed MOCs. Keep interest up by speeding up the turn times, but allowing options. Small builds faster for little gain, Bigger builds slower for larger acquisitions. Keep a 1 month setup for battles between players. The expectation part Brickwolf mentioned is spot on. Let us know what we need for a minimum. Being aviation related, I will be trading detail for size because aircraft aren't small. I thought the new player guide was decent. It didn't explain how turns happen, but it was enough to get my started. The WAR seems confusing and bureaucratic. Streamline it. Allow us to say where we want to go and start building immediately. First come, first served on a side. If both sides claim the same square in the same turn, make them build battle scenes for the next month. Regarding third party parts, I had no plans to use them. I found enough figures in my collection of Star Wars minifigs I could create a decent force. Mind you, my force is an Air Force, so that doesn't require a total tactical look. Offer a gateway option/pictures to get outsiders in. I build aircraft, but had no thoughts about joining. @TheBeeze sent me a private invite and I thought, why not. Some parts of the BB costs seem high and hard to achieve. I understand later on, the income could be there, but offer options in the middle for pricing. If you do have mercs, they should be at least trying to advertise their services now and then. Will established players get a small warchest to start from based on previous presentation builds and accomplishments? Not much, but something. I second the request for railroads. P.S. will my initial presentations be judged so I have a few bucks in my account?

[GBW] - Side Mission - M13 - Vislania - the mine

Nice diorama and congrats on making the front page. -
Excellent rendition and upgrade. I like your addition of the archery contest and the inclusion of the ghost. Lost of classic Castle homage in this.
