LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I know, I know. It’s the hope that kills you. It is truly shambolic, a major stain on this theme and that’s putting it mildly. Atleast a month away. More likely to be end of June. We also have to factor in that fact many release September, especially the exciting ones. -

Never going to happen. Its a shame, though. I’d purchase a few AT-TE’s, otherwise. My only thought/prediction is once the AT-TE retires, they’ll do a 212th Legion style battle pack (or £24.99) and have the Crab droid, too. They MIGHT rectify it then… -

First, you’ve answered your own question. Lego could not have done better because of Disney. Second, whilst I certainly will not dismiss criticisms of the minifigure lineup, let’s see what Lego has in store for us in 2024, especially January. A battle pack, Bo Katan’s Mando Fighter, and a Nevarro Cabin could easily give us great sets and figures. Battle Pack - Beskar SuperCommando’s and Pretorian Guards Mando Fighter - Axe Woves, Moff Gideon Nevarro Cabin - Greef Karga So, whilst I am speculating here, I think a bit of patience and perspective can go a long way on this matter. -

Agreed. Completely agree. Knight statues and a Troll would have made it worthy. I think many will share that view. Can’t wait to see videos soon! -

I like this theme. Although it is unlikely I will purchase any, I can appreciate them for what they are. Below, is my order of preference. Here goes... 1. Nightmare Shark Ship - Great design; good price. Fantastic set all round. 2. Pegasus Flying Horse - A solid display piece here. For the price, I love the design. 3. Mrs. Castillo's Turtle Van - Oozes fun! I really like the dual-use of the truck, whilst the turtle gives off Mario vibes. 4. Stable of Dream Creatures - This would be second if there was an extra buildable creature. Feels less of a stable as a result. Whilst the build is one of my favourite, the price is not. 5. Mr. Oz's Spacebus - If I have ever seen a set that looks to be inspired by Fortnite, here it is! I do like this set, especially the large engine. This one is perhaps unlucky not to be higher up. The figures are good, too. I just think the other sets are better, mainly due to my own preference rather than pure objectivity. 6. Fantastical Tree House - The price is fantastic, and the set is good. Personally, I am not a huge fan of treehouses and I feel the set offers very little minifigure wise. 7. Mateo and Z-Blob - This would have been higher if the enemy build was better. I absolutely love Z-Blob, especially his weapon! Great Price. 8. Crocodile Car - I really like the colour-blend between blue and red here, but the price is awful! That Cooper figure is really good, however, which softens the blow. I do not like the alternate jeep. 9. Grimkeeper the Cage Monster - I hate the price. It should have been £24.99 rather than £31.99. But, this gives Power Miners vibes and I knew as a child I'd have loved trapping my figures in the torso of the Monster. As I personally like this, it is higher than Izzie. I think it can count itself fortunate, though... 10. Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny - This one is cute, and a great way to get a nice-looking figure. I feel it needs another evil set to have any fun here, though. I think it is unlucky to be this low down. 11. Dream Village - As an exclusive, this is severely lacking. But, I was surprised to find this at the bottom of my list which is testament to my enjoyment of the theme. Needed one figure, at the minimum. The price, however, is fantastic. Yet, it still doesn't give me any desire to buy the set. Overall, I think this is a solid wave of sets. My main gripe is the lack of original figures in some of the sets. Children will love this; I do hope it sells well enough. Some are visually stunning, and others look great fun! But for various reasons, if I was to commit budget to this wave, I'd be looking at something like this: Pegasus Flying Horse, Stable of Dream Creatures, Mateo and Z-Blob, and the Crocodile Car. -

I love the Hogwarts Express. By far the best and most affordable version. Dobby is perfect for the price imo. WWW is a nice set for someone like me who loves HP but would never commit to a large DA set. The rest are pretty weak, especially the Battle of Hogwarts. -

I think we might see the 212th battle pack withheld to boost sales for the AT-TE in terms of exclusive characters. I predict as soon as that set retires, 212th troopers are in. I see the argument, but for me a battle pack is a lot easier because there is no obvious vehicle for this faction. The only thing would be the scene similar to the Dark Trooper attack set, but it is nowhere near as iconic, although would probably have some nice play functions with the ray shield esque stuff. -

I’d love to see Lego go all out with 4 battle packs in January 2024. Yavin Rebel Troopers (£17.99): Rebel Fleet Trooper (x2), Rebel Honour Guard, Rebel Commando Set would include either a Rebel Hovertank or Rebel Scout Speeder Imperial Remnants Battle Pack (£17.99): Imperial SuperCommando (x2), Imperial SuperCommando Captain, Pretorian Guard Set would include a Battlefront (2005) style turret, Jetpack + weapons rack, and Small Imperial Mandalorian-type speeder Imperial Science Division Battle Pack (£17.99): TK StormTrooper (x2), Imperial ShockTrooper, Imperial Commando Set would include a hybrid AT-AC (to fit the BP style) Kashyyyk Ground Forces Battle Pack (£17.99): Kashyyyk CloneTrooper (x2), 41st Elite Corps Trooper, AT-RT Driver Set would include a small AT-RT and ground defences. Pretty much everything for everyone all in one amazing year. Sign me up. The following year, Lego could do the following: New Republic Battle Pack £17.99 212th Legion Clone Troopers £17.99 TBC Rey Sequel Faction Battle Pack £17.99 Endor Rebel Troopers Battle Pack £17.99 and here’s another 4 in case you thought we were running out! Imperial Army Battle Pack (£17.99): Stormtrooper (x2), Death Trooper, Imperial JumpTrooper TBC Filoni Faction Battle Pack x2 (£17.99): Geonosis Troopers Battle Pack (£17.99): Geonosian Clone Trooper (x2), Geonosian Arf Trooper, Geonosian FlameTrooper -

Sorry, I knew this and have said it previously but for some reason yesterday I said tomorrow. Loads got cut, and I assume this scene was one of them. I think there’s enough from the existing episode to infer this scene happened, however. But, personally, I’d have liked if we saw the dogfights in the finale. The episode felt weak and I think a space battle would have really enhanced the experience. -

Well said. I keep trying to convince myself to purchase the AT-TE at £93, but the 212th inaccurate print compounded by false advertising by Lego showing the accurate print makes me feel almost guilty in giving the company my money. I can live with the Spider Droid mistake and the helmet holes too but what I can’t accept is this. It is a really shame. The Commander Fox minifigure seemingly has inaccurate print too, less so, but still… So close to a golden age. So. Close. -

I genuinely see a release unless an obvious alternative appears in the final episode. It’s a perfect way into those characters. I don’t think it’s too early, because it will look different and it’s from a different era, too. But that’s just my opinion. -

Perhaps, but it would be larger and have an alternate colour scheme. Plus, it’s a great way to correct some of the issues with the 2020 model whilst adding additionally features, chiefly a troop carrier bay, if possible. -

I am almost certain this will be the case. Lego clearly just wanted to avoid major spoilers, rightfully. Bo Katan’s Mandalorian Fighter? Literally as a new Pre Vizla’s Fighter from 2011… That is all I can assume as of now. I would be surprised if they are piloted by something else tbh. -

End of May at the earliest I think. I reckon somewhere in June. This is what happens when Lego produce exciting sets and the leakers drip feed info! I’m seeing loads of new users every month as well which is great to experience. -

I get what you’re saying, but equally, we are still missing one episode (without saying anymore due to spoilers this episode). Plus, after watching this episode just I think the criticism is harsh. Moreover, I think there’s a pretty obvious candidate for next year in this episode (and in most the other episodes too) in which you might see some of the figures I assume you’re desiring (as we all are! ;) ) Great spot! I knew I’d heard this from somewhere previously when watching! Most likely pushed back, or cancelled of course. The former I think. -

May the 4th promos leaked. X-Wing Polybag, Death Star Data card/plans, and the mini-Death Star build. Nothing special here unfortunately, but I do appreciate the Death Star. It’s neat and good when you temper expectations. But, it does not get me hyped to purchase Lego Star Wars over that period, though. If I was making the decisions, a desirable GWP is beyond essential. You’d literally get us all forking out $150 (or equivalent), and often more than once. The investors would be all over it too. Strange choices imo. That being said, it certainly could be worse. -

Not sure why they’ve misprinted Fox’s torso. The red should be higher up. The dreaded “printing limitation”?…
