LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
ArrowBricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That New Republic set minfigure lineup sounds epic! Does seem possible that we are getting another two-pack…I am very happy. People have also seen the Yavin Base and are impressed. Check @Lifebricks on Instagram (his story). Here you will find his thoughts! God I do hope Lego doesn’t disappoint. The rest of this year sounds beyond amazing. So much content. Fingers crossed! -

Haha I’m sure many more will do the same! Yes, I like the figures too. I’ll just be looking at seeing if they were the best we could have got, nothing more. I always think about myself as a child when it comes to sets and this is the perfect gift alongside getting the N-1 Starfighter and the Pirate Snubfighter! Further, imagine if both sets were released separately. Whilst we might have gotten an extra figure overall, the price would have been Atleast £$10 more, minimum. More likely, £/$20. I hope they do more of this sort of set in the future, especially Prequel-era… -

I already loved the set, but after the review it’s an instant purchase. I smiled all the way through the video as it’s Lego at its very best. I’ll see if Lego dropped the ball with any figures (design or a failure to include specific characters) but right now it’s a 9.5/10 easily. -

I’d be shocked, but I’ve been shocked by these rumours and still are, somewhat. -

Probably the T6 Shuttle because it has a newer design than TCW version which I really love and hope Lego have expertly reproduced. I think the figures are especially exciting in this one, too. Or, the Gunship to see how it differs from the 2013 one, how it’s utilised new techniques especially from the UCS version, and what shade of red and how much red is used (if the rumours are correct…) -

You know what, I still have not got over how badly designed the Mando Fighter was. It was literally wonky, how do the designers pass that off as acceptable… Either way, I don’t think they’ll mess it up this time around to be honest. Most are remakes, after all. What is everyone planning on purchasing based on the rumours currently? -

Yes, this is the exact example that comes to mind. I was so disappointed with the Bad Batch Shuttle and the Mando Fighter (especially). -

Lol, they better not! Remakes yes, but justified and relevant is important to add here. -

I really do hope they don’t butcher the summer-fall wave in any way. On paper it’s close to the golden years. First time in years I’ve planned on getting many sets all at once close to release. This is providing they are all fine, of course. -

I wouldn’t go that radical, I do just think it’s a bad choice rather than a sign of lack of care necessarily. But, there’s no getting away from the fact it looks very lazy on their part. -

Yeah I’ve repeated this before. It really needs a remake that appreciates the source material. Currently, the Lego version fails on so many aspects. It would sell insanely well. -

It is never too early! ;) I will comment on your list in due course, and I’ll also attempt at doing both my PREDICTIONS and WISHLIST tomorrow. I have a seven-hour journey, so plenty of time! Let’s say I already know I’ll be agreeing with a few of yours… -

The box art for that X-Wing is so bad. What bossman has approved that, lol. -

The Mandalorian Fang Fighter Vs Tie Interceptor is actually a fantastic set. It will be interesting to see if Lego have missed any better potential figures. The Tie can literally be used as an OT vehicle which is really nice. All I know, is that as a child I’d have loved it. So much playability and would make the perfect gift, especially Christmas if you’re lucky. Combine that with the N-1 Starfighter and the Snubfighter and wow. Obviously I’d wait for it to go on sale, but if it’s priced nicely I think it’s a solid 9/10. -

I think it’s almost a given, really. I would expect a UCS prequel set every two years. Imagine a Dropship or a Turbo Tank before it, though. -

The Gunship is rumoured to be dark red, correct? I hope it is, and they don’t use that brighter red. -

I think the Coruscant Guard Gunship looks more interesting and cooler, but it means I’d only pick up 2 maximum. If it was a standard Gunship everyone would buy more. I have no doubt about that. So, from that perspective it’s a strange choice BUT I like it. I’d imagine the gap between the next release of a Gunship will be shorter. I think they have made the decision based on the existence of the UCS version. They might have tried the standard version and realised they’d look too similar on shelves. Again, not having a pilot is so disappointing. I understand they don’t have material for a Shock Trooper Pilot but they could have literally just given us a shiny Phase II Pilot. 6 minifigures would have been perfect. Heck, the AT-TE even has a driver! The AT-TE having more Clones and more figures compared to the Gunship is super surprising. I guess getting both Palpatine and Padme is good but so strange! It was the one thing that made me believe the rumours were false. I’d be less mad about the Pilot if they nail these figures because they’re important named characters and we’d never get TCW versions again (and Padme barely has variants anyway which is disappointing). -

Ah, yes - cheers. I own this, lol. There is no set way of doing this thread, trust me. I used to read this forum in 2011-14 and writing prices and figs was the main format and I just went with it. I really like this post. I would have Phase II Shiny Clones in one and maybe an Arf Trooper in the AT-RT OR an AT-RT Driver and hence kashyyyk based. -

This is really important, personally. There’s plenty they can do that is not specifically “Clone Trooper” as you say and more importantly it’s some really good stuff such Jango’s Slave One. Arc-170 is likely, I agree. Anyway I’ll stop “wishlisting” now. -

The question will be how they incorporate them into sets… Turbo Tank? Arc-170? Anyway, that’s for another day! On another note I’m really intrigued to hear opinions on the Yavin Temple currently. With so many amazing sets coming and the ever-increasing price of Lego, is there space for the set in your budget this year? Personally, I’d have to be really amazed by its functionality. But, I can imagine it’s going to be super popular for the OT’s. -
