Yes, but it's important not to forget that the bigger wheels are, the bigger and heavier model is, and the less the parts will resist. So lego would have done two new gears, a new cv-joint and a new portal part to fit into 8110 wheels which inhance cost... Don't get me wrong, I would also like to see more part to create models closer to the reality but I understand why there are not...

As I do not know if he posts on eurobricks, here is his video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVHixBmwN6M The concept is based on an idea from alban. I have already tested a similar design, it works well but uses friction ( blue pin). For this reason, I prefer Sariel's one :) Edit : sorry, didn't see I failed to inserate video... ( I have corrected this) -
Ok, I understand what you mean but in a certain way, unimog 8110 version is also unrealistic as the pivot point is too far from the wheel ^_^.

PF tractor
GuiliuG replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice tractor, you put lot of functions in it! I advise you to remplace the two old pumps by new one to have a quicker arm movement. Also, I absolutly don't like these wheels :p unimog wheels would fit better IMO. And a last thing, what's the interest to have a tractor motorized if you need to turn manually the steering? It's surely a fun MOC to play with. Ps :I like how the arm turns. -
Allamp : I absolutly don't see where the improved version of nicasjmo is a multi-link suspension !

Indeed, they are some sub-models which need to be taken apart to be mounted on the model, but as this model is dedicaced for "experienced" builders, they will understand what to do ! Ps : here, you simply need not to create the long axle separatly, but to create it directly on the model.

Thanks everybody ! Indeed, there will always be people that will be reticent to pay 5euros for building iunstructions and I understand them but I also think that they don't imagine what is about creating building instructions... I'm pretty sure that if they did their own building instruction they will reflect about two times to send them for free. And yes Romacco, it will be exposed at fana'briques 2012 with my Unimog U20, my jeep and two other MOC that need to be finished after my exams :)I think that you're belgium, aren't you? Maybe can I one time come to our nederlands meetings, with the problem that I don't speak very good nederlands ( alalala these wallons :p)

I remember what lego are, but I also remember how many times blakbird and myself spend creating these building instructions ( for other people pleasure) when we could do other things ( such as creating MOCs for me).

It depends wheter you already have lot of parts or not. If you have no parts, so it will cost you probably 300 euros. But honnestly, most of the parts are common ( ok, not the 3 grey pumps). Also, jacobkristensen, we can't give you the file to be fair with other people. What do you think, that we are going to give you the file ( and with it you can built the model, yes harder but it's stil feasible) when other need to pay 5 euros?! It would be completly unfair and I don't like this word. I hope you understand :)

I thought unimog was 1/10 scale. Sorry, you're probably right. Povratnik, indeed, if you can't look the video and heard what I say, it's normal that you ask such questions .So I will explain how it works ( very simple actually), I hope it will also anwser to your questions allamp. The right electric switch is used to run two pumps AND to activate a pneumatic switch. So, when you incline this switch, compressor with two pumps begins to run and to provide air to the four arm pneumatic cylinders. Direction motor rotation has no importance ( air is still pumped) so it doesn't matter if the motor begins to run in the other direction when you want to use pneumatic switch. The left electric switch works on the same principe but with only one pump because it's used to operate only two pneumatic cylinders. So we have two electric switch linked with two pneumatic one. But one pneumatic function is again needed : switching from one mod to other mod. The only way to achieve this function is to use a manual pump with its own pneumatic circuit. Actually, it's important to understand that each pneumatic circuit is independant to each other. I choose to use this solution for an improved reactivity. Hope to be clear :)

What a pleasure when I saw at 4pm after a long 3houres studying your post blakbird !:) It's very strange and pleasant to see my model built by others ( never expected this actually). Normally, steering gears slip in only one direction ( it's due to frame which take better stress in one direction than in the other). Also, if you use in rough terrains your model you will hear that same transmission gears can slip (but I have still damaged an cv-joint ( new grey part)! What do you think about the controller? Is everything instinctive? Milan, I'm not sure if jennifer's model is really appropriated ( mine is too big but her is to small I think ) Ps : blakbird, it seems that you forget an grey open center frame on your first picture :p Edit : povratnik, why don't you simply look at the first post of this topic?

Hmm... Sorry to bump again this thread, but I want to be sure about something :there is NO need to have a train controller to play with this model. You can use a standart battery box which is integrated on the MOC controller.

What is amazing with Nathanael's models is how they are neat and well built ! It's not like they just seem beautiful from outside, they are also beautiful from inside ! -
My MOC is added on rebrickable : Rebrickable Also, if you want to pay with paypal, you will need to pay 6euros due to fees taken by paypal (it's why I prefer IBAN for europeans people).

Yes, you probably don't see it because parts are sligtly deformed ( and you can still connect them as fsb001 does without any problem) :).
-
As you can see on this picture : 4L thin liftarm are not parallel to the beam where they are attached. Fsb001 did not consider that !
