Why don't you contact Ian Barreto, who made the model. See this article which has a link to his flickr: http://www.brothers-...looked-so-good/ Google reverse image search is a good resource for figuring out who made a build from the picture.

Personally I think trying to reconstruct sets from a lot like this is way too much trouble if you're just doing it to resell, unless you can clearly see there was some very high value sets in there. Divide them into a couple bulk lots by general theme and sell it that way. Of course you might find some creative way to use those parts in custom technic MOCs so that is something else to consider.

Thanks! I forgot to mention, the idea of flooding the sewer with a big mechanical wall was largely inspired by the part in The Link to the Past where you have to open the floodgates to drain the lake.
-
I think the arms and legs are dark bluish gray, the custom armor looks to have a brownish tinge to it more like old dark grey.

The red dragon sappers try to take a shortcut under the wall through the sewers, but get more than they bargained for when the blue lions open floodgate.

http://www.dickblick.com/products/amaco-wireform-mesh/ The "gallery mesh" is 1/2" so that would probably work well for getting the small bricks separate. $11 for 3 sheets: http://www.dickblick.com/items/33408-2550/

At an arts and crafts store you can buy different sizes of metal mesh, like a finer grade of chicken wire. Used as a structure under a paper mache sculpture among other things. I think you could pick one or more for different size bricks.

Cute Lego Ideas project, your opinion on western topics?
Vorkosigan replied to colibri's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think due to the failure of The Lone Ranger and generally low interest in western topics from younger generations that it is very unlikely to see a theme soon.- 3 replies

Given the lack of a Castle advent calendar for this year, I thought I'd make my own. It is constructed of 4 vignettes with 6 mini builds each. I tried to keep the part count reasonably similar to a real advent calendar. Nothing too fancy here but I hope you enjoy.

Wow very cool car! Great part usage. What is the trans blue part in the wheels in the real model? It looks different from the LDD.
-
Well actually I did pick up a bunch of light bluish gray 2x4s from the wall on Saturday. Though 1xX would be preferable.

Was at the Wauwatosa store today, only interesting new bits were brown stairs, and dark trans grey cockpit canopies. Almost everything else was the same as it was back in september.

Saw quite a few copies of Galaxy Squad sets still available at half off at my Toys R Us. 70707, 70709, 70700, and 70702 were available. Strangely there was no labeling in the aisle to indicate that they were half off, but I bought a couple and they were.

Question re: Brick Friday at US LEGO Stores
Vorkosigan replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yea I was disappointed to see that indeed there was no extra VIP points. Seems a bit weak. Regarding that Walmart offer, I saw no evidence of where it might have been at my local store. A bit strange that the set isn't even available at the USA shop at home, but is on the french site: http://shop.lego.com/en-FR/LEGO-Creative-Tower-10664 -

I don't see any reason to think there won't be double VIP points or more. We'll know in 6 hours. -
MOC: King's Hall - Folding Building
Vorkosigan replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks! One thing I'd think about doing differently is maybe making the front and rear walls two studs thick. It can be difficult to open and close without having to fix something. -
My goal was to create a folding building with detailed interior. Ultimately I ended up putting a hinged roof on as well so there are two ways to access the interior. Making everything come together at the joint was a fun challenge. I envision this hall as a structure inside a much larger castle.

I showed two custom modular sections in this thread (last MOCs in the first post): http://www.eurobrick...owtopic=101769 I also felt when I had the gatehouse in the castle that it looks better if you take off the roof pieces and put a continuation of the light bley wall there.

[HELP] Battery Pack Options
Vorkosigan replied to aval5's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In my experience when I was flying RC stunt helicopters was that "high discharge" is over 25C, but it depends on the manufacturer. "C" is the rated current capacity of a battery, usually in "milliamp hours" (mAh) for small batteries. So if you have a 2000 mAh battery that was rated at 25C discharge you could supposedly discharge it at 50 amps, though the battery would last less than 2 minutes. Anyway it won't be a problem with LEGO power functions. I had 50C and 75C discharge batteries because 3D maneuvers with a helicopter require a crazy amount of current. One thing to note about using LiPos is that you should never discharge them below 3 volts per cell, so for a 7.2V (2 cell) you shouldn't go below 6V for the health of the battery. A good speed controller will protect against this, but with PF you'll probably just have to learn to judge when things are getting slow and turn it off. You can check the voltage with a multimeter to see what 6V "feels" like. I would say just buy a 2 cell battery instead of messing around with regulators on a 3 cell or risk of burning out the motors over time. -
I'm going to post several smaller MOCs together in this thread to avoid cluttering the forum. If you click through the image you should be able to see larger versions and more pics at my imgur album. First, this is my first attempt at a battle scene. The scenery of the small falls, stream, stream banks etc is a bit simple but it is 95% from one trip to a pick a brick wall. The wizard works his dark magic on one of the crownie knights. Next I have some modular additions to the King's Castle. First is a blacksmith. I took the black somewhat literally in the color of the walls, it sticks out a bit but I think it makes the smith look like a specially built more industrial part of the castle. I thought the guards could use a spot to relax up on the walls. Extending that idea, the next modular section is a mess hall. The last MOC is a barracks and training ground for the Lions / Crownies. This is my first attempt at a substantial tree.

Salvage Team Alpha-09: Sector 8 Corridor (MOC)
Vorkosigan replied to AyliffeMakit's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Nice! The lighting effect through the grate is cool. -
I was in my dark age during Kingdoms, so maybe I just don't know any better, but I actually like Castle 2013. However it doesn't hurt that I've bought all the sets at a discount. The bright colors have a benefit in that they are extremely common, especially since most of my collection is old I find that convenient. All the printing is great, as is the Dragon. The emblems could be better but not a big deal to me.
-
Nice tank, I like the various weapon system options and the slight tilt to the front end. Do all these parts exist in these colors?
-
Forest Ambush is $5.50 now at my local Walmart. Picked up a few more for my armies. Unfortunately it doesn't show the reduced price on their app since its part of a 50% off clearance blowout. I know that they have a bunch of Dragon Mountain and Gold Getaway in the back too so I wonder what they are waiting for to clearance those further.

This is the first set I can remember building myself, before that I played with my older sister's sets. I was really excited about the trans red pieces at the time.
