Lego generally makes sets from the live action summer big budget things, with the exception of john carter (smart chosie Lego) These gets massive marketing by diseny so its a good bet usually. Maybe they even have a deal involving Brockheimer stuff? The animated/pixar films lego uses when it makes sense, toy story and particularly cars is huge selles with kids . Obviously they are selective in what they make sets from. And you can generally see before it's annoucnced what will end up as sets.

My personal problem with translucent figres is that they look horrible, when you see the insides of the figure. It looks much better overall when solid. The army of the dead looks marvelous as they are!

Very possible, you just need to change out some and move around some of the plates on the bottom. I would however switch the far right and far left side around, so the rocks could be connected on either side.

Eomer should not have a caope UNLESS its Aragorns coronation scenes, where he could have a black one. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas should have capes in the same color as marry and pippin After galadriel scene.(you could argue they should be grey like Sam's cape, but i feel Sames cape is more grey casue they were traversing the rocks instead of grasslands. Pippin pre Galadriel shuld have redish brown cape. As for boromir he should certainly keep the cape lego gave him in the set, red looks so wrong for him.. http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Human/Boromir/Boromir_1013.jpg

Personally I think homemade things does not mix well with lego, esapcially when its made with paper. Official elemest are always preferable with me. One solution is get better at applying stickers. You obviously only need half of the connectors, but it looks better with both I think.

Or perhaps a burning Denethor catapult

The citadel/top part of minas tirith is not really that recgnizable and it features 0 action. and the drama that happens there is I imagine too too dark for lego's audience.

You should check out the kickstarter for this game. http://www.kickstart...rdkingdom/tug-1 Its basically a mixture of Fable, minecraft and dwarf fortress. It looks like it could be really cool, on top of minecraft-like building stuff theres rpg elements, some city building stuff and a main character that ages and morphs acording to the activities you do.

I disagree, cause of the limited minifigures. Not only are there very few minifigs in the set, none of them are the action hero kind, just old men and some uruk/orcs they might already have. If youre gonna spend that money on a kid several cheaper sets is better value. Assuming the kid already have ALL the other sets is abit of a stretch for most.

276 more supporters and we'll be sure lego sees it. I think a normal release is much more likely than a cuuso effort. but if nothing else lego would see theres interest.

The current lego elephant is fiine for a mumakil, just extend the body sligthly(wich is already very possible) And start the build sligthing "into" the back of the elephant instead of filling out it's body with grey. I'd imagine it would have a fabric wrap around thing aswell. Lego scale is always abit of a quite mish mash, and its way ok in my opinion. A proper sized mumalik in lego could end up looking grotesque. I think they could make a bigger one with a brick buildt body, but A brick buildt head would look really bad in my opinion.

Except for the minifigure aspect of that....

The gate would be more likely in my opinion. If theres a minas tirrith I'd expect a 3-4 level thing, and only a quarter circle, buy 2 build one mirrored and BooM!
