  1. Very nice little house. It fits right in with Kaliphin! The color scheme really makes it look like a little oasis.
  2. Sad to see all those great moccing skills go, but we will all be rooting for you out there. Good luck and be safe.

  4. Sorry about that, I forgot to add one! Just edited it though, so it should be good now. Thanks guys!
  5. After much debate, I think that I will join the side of the men, despite how popular that side has become. I'm eager to start building!
  6. Lord Baconius would be glad to pledge to your cause. While he is busy on a quest in his own kingdom or would else join you himself, he would gladly send a legion of men to assist you.
  7. Thanks for all the feedback! And gedren, the Ambalaran Trade Council would greatly accept the Nestlands Clans offer for ore. Hopefully, this will be a successful alliance!
  8. Very cool! I like the little stall with the "mystery product."
  9. A Meeting at the Mines | Bacon Potatoes | Avalonia
  10. After departing the royal residence in the port city of Mirameth, Lord Baconius decides to visit an old friend. The serenity of the forests of northern Ambalar have made Baconius forget about the urgency of the mission, and he takes his time chatting with Thorgard McKaye, a soldier turned miner who operates an iron mine in Northern Ambalar not very far from Mirameth. Baconius and his entourage of sorts walks up the winding path to the operation and they are immediately greeted by Thorgard. "Hey hey, Kenrick! Long time no see!" shouts Thorgard at the approaching party. "Come on, Thor, don't use my first name in front of the soldiers," Baconius replies. "They're new recruits and need to learn respect for the royalty." "Well, its better than the name you chose for yourself. Baconius. Ha!" He laughs at this for a moment, then recovers his composure. "Anyway, what brings you to my humble mine? Did you hear about our increase in production? Very impressive, eh?" "It certainly is, but that's not why I'm here. I have a favor to ask of you. During the fight to clear to Rocky Hollows of bandits, you were the best at navigating in the caves. Do you remember those good old days?" "Certainly do. I still remember every path, every passage, every spot of ore if the elves decide to let us miners in..." Thorgard trails off in reminiscence. "Well, I'm going to need your help again. our spies have told us that a rogue band of orcs may be attempting a bit of a takeover in the area. However, and I'll let you in on a secret here, old legends of the druids speak of a weapon of incredible power hidden in the caves. I have been searching for years, and finally have some clues. But we have to act quick, because if the orcs invade the area, there will be no way of getting to it. I will be needing you to come with me." "Right now?" "Right now. There is no time to waste." And so the old miner joins the group and begins their long trek. Meanwhile, the mine continues to operate as usual in the background. The vein of ore was discovered when a stream washed away loose rock and soil from in front of the vein exposing it over time. This stream has been redirected to allow the miners to extract the ore. A muscular miner chips away at a vein of iron ore, slowly accumulating a heap of rock behind him. Another worker searches the rock pile for ore rich chunks of stone. The ore in this vein is hematite, which is a form of iron oxide. These chunks are crushed into small pieces to remove large impurities and placed in a charcoal fired bloomery. The carbon monoxide from the charcoal mixes with the iron oxide in the ore to produce a more pure iron. The iron is removed from the bloomery in the form a red hot, porous mass called a bloom. The bloom contains pockets of impurities inside, so the bloom is pounded with a hammer to force these impurities out of the iron. The final product is nearly pure wrought iron. The iron is then shipped throughout Ambalar. While this process creates most of the ore used in the production of goods from Ambalar, some still must be imported from Mitgardian mines to account for all of Ambalar's iron consumption. Here's the best overhead shot I have, hope this is good! Thanks for looking! I would like to claim HSS Laborers - Mine for the settlement of Mirameth.
  11. Very nice job! The pump is a very cool detail, and everything flows together well. Nice landscaping too.
  12. I think this is a great idea. Definitely a vote for Mitgardia and someone needing help.
  13. I really like the amount of realistic detail put into all of the foliage in this build. Very cool tree and interesting use of the axles to make the moss. Looks just like the real thing! Reminds me a lot of a recent trip I took to Florida, especially the moss. Nice job!
  14. Very neat temple, I think that the blue dome looks really cool. Nicely done!

  16. Just posted the first part of my story, hope you guys like it! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100688
  17. Just thought I'd make a quick exposition for my new storyline to showcase a small build I threw together. Lord Baconius and his adviser Rex Arlingus are discussing current events in the Kingdom of Ambalar in Baconius's study. The two men are talking about happenings between the guilds, trade, military goings-on, and other topics relevant to the kingdom. "So tell me, what have we got going on in the kingdom today, Rex?" "Well, my lord, our oil supplier in Kaliphin hasn't made any shipments in weeks and the reserves are starting to run dry," Rex replied. "There also have been increasing pirate attacks of our western shores. As well as pirates, we have word from our informants that an unknown military force may attempt to gain our settlements in the enchanted forest from us, which would be unspeakably bad. Ah yes, and the mines in the north are supplying iron at twice the normal rate, so there is some good news." "Put the word out that the Kingdom of Ambalar is looking for a new oil supplier then, and make sure the ore is able to be shipped of the island without our ships being attacked. Add more naval presence in the west." Lord Baconius lowered his voice in a secretive manner. "I do have something I want to show you that may help with that impending attack, if we can get to it in time. Call in Sir Gatewood." Lord Baconius's military adviser, Sir Gatewood, steps into the study. "You called, my lord?" Gatewood replied as he walked up to the desk. "Yes. I have something I wish to show you and Rex. I think I have discovered a great treasure we can use to our advantage if our settlements in the west are attacked as our sources say," Baconius explained in a quiet manner. "I believe it to be in a hidden cave in the Rocky Hollows, which means that we will have to move fast before we are attacked in that area. This is a very ancient power, that legend says lies in the form of a mystical sword created by the druids, capable of defeating entire armies. The cave is concealed by magic, and it will be defended with ancient spells. I have marked the suspected location on this map, and I want you to put together a force to scout the area of the cave. Do not enter it, for I wish to be there when you do, and I have an event to attend to in another part of Avalonia now." Baconius gets up from his desk and walks over to the two men. "Now it is very important," he said in a stern manner, "that not a word of this gets out. I do believe we have a few that we cannot trust in our military forces, and the unseen enemy we seem to have gained must not learn of this weapon. If they do, I believe that our kingdom may fall. Take a member of the cartography guild, a few trustable soldiers, and the old Mage and find the cave. When I return, we shall attempt to gain this weapon for Ambalar." The three men walk out of the study together and begin to prepare for the adventure that awaits them. Here is a shot of the study without any minifigures.
  18. So, I have a question. Can I change my sigfig as my story evolves or do I have to to keep the same sigfig for the duration of the book? I'm trying to figure out my story line, and I kind of want to have a sort of royal shakeup in my kingdom. Also, welcome legoloco to the greatest of the guilds!
  19. As always, a great build. I really like that design for the trees. Keep up the good work!
  20. Just put my task 3 up, will probably get to task 2 sometime next week. Hope you like it! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100473
  21. See the Wondrous Countryside of Ambalar! The Kingdom of Ambalar is situated on the island of the same name in the mystic isles and a small portion of land in the larger enchanted forest. The Isle of Ambalar is host to several different regions and biomes. Compagre Cliffs (Central) The center of the island rises considerably upward in altitude from the coastal regions. While not mountainous, there is a series of small cliffs pocketed with caves and waterfalls that gradually terrace up to the high point of the island. These cliffs, called the Compagre, can be somewhat of a problem from those attempting to access the mineral rich lands at the center of the island, so over the years paths have been cut as a means of safe travel. The high point of the island is a small plateau with very few trees or other large plants, but many rocks and boulders. The caves of the cliffs tantalize miners from all over the guilds with their mineral riches, and the several streams that flow through the region are full of gold nuggets. The rock is also commonly used as a building material and several quarries dot the cliff sides. The waterfalls of the region attract many travelers and are one of the most popular places in Ambalar. Northern Forests On the north side of the island, the Isle of Ambalar is coated in thick pine forests. These forests are a bountiful resource of lumber and many sawmills have been established in the area. This lumber is brought to the coast where it can be shipped all across Historica through the port of Mirameth, which was the first establish settlement in all of Ambalar. The forests are home to many species of woodland creatures and in the darker, more mysterious parts, magic is practiced. Southern Plains The southern section of the island is quite different from the north. There are no forests in this region, only rolling hills and gentle plains dotted by small farms. There are a few small hamlets in this area and the ruins of civilizations past. Coastal Regions The coasts of the the island consist of rocky cliffs with several small, fine, sandy beaches bordering the water. The coasts of Ambalar are patrolled by the Navy in order to prevent attacks on merchant vessels and invasions from the sea. A cool gentle coastal breeze makes these regions a pleasant and popular area to settle down and establish a homestead. Rocky Hallows (Enchanted Forest) The area of the Kingdom of Ambalar settled in the enchanted Forest is unique due to the vast system of canyons cut into the rock by steams flowing from the center of the forest. This section of Ambalar is known as the Rocky Hollows. These streams gently flow through the forests to the sea, alternating between sharp rocky sides to smoother hollows as they flow along. Many travelers come to admire these spectacles, especially those from the Geological Society of Ambalar. It appears that the largest canyon, Lieber Canyon, has attracted a settler on the cliff. A member of the geological society studies the canyon walls. A small stream flows through the canyon, keeping close to the wall of rock. Thank you for considering Ambalar for your next great vacation! Note: I think that this should satisfy my task 3 for Avalonia, and I hope to post my tasks 1 and 2 sometime in the future.
  22. Very nice! I liked how you used a variety of different roofing techniques to add to the diversity of the build. Also, very neat sign on the inn with the bottle and goblet.
  23. This is a wonderful build. All of the details are amazing, I especially like that scroll design! That grand hall looks great, keep up the good work.
  24. The sigfig is the one I used in my character intro, here is another smaller pic if you need it. Judging by the amount of responses, it's going to be quite the party at your castle!
  25. I would love to have my sigfig included in one of your works. I was wanting to do the same thing and place more characters from around Historica in my builds (once I post them), the only problem is I'm not exactly able to build many people's figs. This will probably change in the future.
