  1. I would like to present my take on the Ninjago subtheme Sky Pirates theme. I have designed an airship mothership for the Sky Pirates in small Midi-scale for ease of display. It takes design cues from Japanese architecture and ancient war ships, mixed with Diesel Punk. It measures about 2 feet long and comes in at around 2300 parts. It features 4 main engines to keep it aloft, and has sails for that extra wow factor. It also has a flight deck for aircraft to takeoff from to launch Ariel attacks on their enemies. I kind of took inspiration from the Misfortune's Keep, so I named this the Misfortune's Dreadnaught. The ship is designed to be built in 3 modules which then attach together and sit on the base. There is also some modest rigging(not shown) I have built this MOC in real bricks, I will add some more real photos to share a little later once I get around to photographing! The last image is a mini fig scale version of the small attack ship that fits on the mothership. I would love to design a mini-fig scale version of the full ship someday, but it will be ridiculous. This is a much underrated sub theme (in my opinion) that I wish Lego would expand upon some day, but until then I will have to do my best to come up with some more vehicles :)
  2. PM me if anyone wants to write a review of this build, make a video, etc. I will send you the instructions for free as a courtesy. Thanks!
  3. This is technically the 2nd or 3rd time it has been built, just not all together at once. I had to disassemble the first version to reverse engineer for the 3D file and also to make improvements. I kind of spent too much time on the design of this project, but the results were still worth it I think! The stability is pretty good overall I would say, it is definitely something that could be played with lightly. The flying vehicle is very swooshable. I think the sails came out great! I had to re-create the graphics from scratch but I think they are very similar to the original.
  4. I have finally finished the instructions, Rebrickable link posted below. I added a few final images here showing the custom sails and decals. There are more images posted on Flickr! Enjoy, and let me know what you think. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-207524/jamesonk83/ucs-ninjago-land-bounty/
  5. I am excited to share some major progress on the Land Bounty build. I have tested and worked out all the major components, everything is fitting very well together. I have only a few minor things to finish, such as the small car that stores in the back. I am hoping to gets some sails and decals printed in the next week or so, then I can take some better final pictures. Let me know your thoughts! Instructions will be following soon.
  6. A little more progress! The cab module stacks onto the base chassis as expected, allowing for easy playability on the interior. This thing is massive! You can also get a better view of the engine bay.
  7. A few more updates as I build this beast! I took a few detailed shots of the lower level interior so you can see the kitchen, toilet, stove, and bedroom areas.
  8. I was finally able to start building the Land Bounty in real bricks. I am working through the instructions to iron out the details and make sure there are no major building errors. I added a few extra details into the main cab area, its looking great so far!
  9. Here is a look at the small car / vehicle that is stowed in the back. I wanted to use some newer off road tires from the jungle sets but I couldn't find them in the inventory of available parts in studio. I also mocked up the cover of the instruction booklet with a fun render comp with background. I added in how the decals will look - just like the official set.
  10. For those that are interested, you can PM me for the parts list. According to studio, it looks like it has 6,552 parts. The model is about 78cm long.
  11. I was inspired by the Playmobil Ferry they made a while back as well.
  12. Hello! I am excited to share my car ferry MOC here on Euro bricks. I loved the Lego set 60119 that came out a few years ago, I thought it was a fantastic little build and a great addition to my town display. I got to thinking though that it would be amazing if I could fit more than 1-2 cars on the ferry, the playability would be much more elevated and add to the realism. I went on to create a ferry to fit 6 wide vehicles which were the norm a while back. 8 wide will fit too but just not as many. It is not based on any particular real-life ship, but has inspiration from many smaller island and tour ferrys that I have been on. I chose a lively color scheme to compliment the build, but also to utilize bricks that are not super rare. I unfortunately only have renders to share currently, as I tore apart the physical model to create the digital model and instructions! I never got around to taking photos, which I will fix in the future for sure. The model was definitely built in the brick to verify sturdiness and structure, it is quite solid. Features: Folding loading doors front and rear Mechanical room A pilot house with removable roof openable doors life preservers seating for passengers winding anchors A cheery but rough looking crew You can find this model on Rebrickable if you want to build a version yourself:) I have had requests for an 8 wide vehicle version, and may consider releasing instructions for a larger version in the future if there is enough interest. Let me know! I personally think it would be amazing, but it would become enormous. Flickr site link for additional photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/201489097@N08/albums/with/72177720320371570
  13. Thanks! I have a first draft of the instructions almost done. I need to build the model physically and do the final verification process however. They should be ready by the end of next month!
  14. Here is an update with the sail graphics in place to make things look more official.
  15. I want to share my recent ongoing project, a UCS scale version of the Ninjago Land Bounty. I thought the original set was such a fun concept, but the scale was just a little small for a flagship set for the line, so I decided to try and scale it up a bit. I added more play features, interactivity with multiple removable decks, and more room for the crew! I am just about finished with the digital build and need to re-create it in the brick (all the stages have been physically built previously, but I needed to tear it apart to preproduce the digital model and made edits). I am still working on the sails and adding graphics similar to the original. Here are some renders below, let me know your thoughts!
