LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Itaria No Shintaku replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My usual goal is: Child comes at me and says me: "which minifigure is this?". And I have to say which one. OR I go for army building. I need 10 of that, 10 of this, 10 of that... I pick a bag, tell which minifig is, decide if needed, and put it reversed if I don't need it. When I went for Forest Maiden, it was horrible. 2 only per box, three minifigures with a slope in S9... this stole me a lot of time!- 1,076 replies

Neither I want it to degenerate, but when I do feel I actually use a criteria totally different from yours. And I can tell, since I have 40+ space marines, 40+ dark knights, 20+ elves and so on. The problem is: I am telling : "Given a certain bag, I can identify which minifig is in there." You are telling "Looking for a certan minifig, I can identify which bag contains it." These are two different problems, with two different solutions. So when you said you were disagreeing with me that's because you didn't understand what I was saying, that's all.- 1,076 replies

Sorry but you're totally wrong. This isn't about talking about which figures YOU want or YOU don't want. Series 9 was more difficult than series 10 and I expalin you why, Armors needed time to feel (you can get easily if it's the knight one, but you needed time to determine if it was the evil trooper one or the cyborg one, they were quite similar). 3 characters had slopes, and you actually disregarded that, but it was not easy to find the other pieces and determine if it was the starlet, the fortune teller or the maiden. So you maybe will find this more difficult because of the minifigure you want or you don't want, but we're talking in the big picture, and it will be definitively easier.- 1,076 replies

Actually this series would be quite easy to feel. Librarian = the book. This isn't missable. Painter = One of the easiest, with lot of unique pieces. Lady Warrior = Very easy, big round shield, pike. Captain = Very easy: seagull isn't missable. Baseball player = SUPER easy, the only torso with different hand. Sad clown = easy. Unique bodywear and headgear. Trendy diva = easy. Tile 1 x 2, chihuahua... Golden minifigure = not so easy. But it's the only one, and I doubt I'd find one. Mechanic = less easy but easy too. Bandana is hard to mistake for other hairpiece Grandad = easy. Tile 2 x 2, a very big piece. Mohican = easy. The hairpiece is in rubber, easy to check. Paintball player = quite easy, the gun is unique. Roman soldier = less easy but easy too, for the headgear and the sword. Medusa = ... Skydiver = one of the trickiest, but not that much. Bee Woman = the honey pot is a big piece one can't miss Revolutionary soldier = the musket is a very big piece. Easy. I actually don't miss a minifig since series 4 where it was really trickier... my 10 forest maidens, 20 elves and 20 dwarves speak for me ;)- 1,076 replies

Which were perfectly shown in the picture like: http://smashing-bricks.com/files/2010/12/series3.jpg 2 hair pieces for race car driver, shown in pictures http://toysnbricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/LEGO-Minifigures-Series-6-Pre.jpg 2 hair pieces for space girl shown in pictures http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/28800000/Series-7-lego-minifigures-28871522-2000-1600.jpg 2 hair pieces for daredevil, shown in pictures No second hairpiece for magician in series 1 because they were used to release a lot of more parts and minifigures costed less. So it its fully legit NOT to expect a second hairpiece for revolutionary soldier BECAUSE that's not shown in pictures. By the way since Omi and some seem so sure there are chances, I'm offering to bet 1 vs 10 that there won't be any. Any challenger? ;)- 1,076 replies

Are you able to point me a piece that wasn't shown in the pictures but was actually in the bags in series released AFTER they stopped to put spare parts in the bags?- 1,076 replies

In 2012 we had very plain colous: white, red, black... I just foretold green was going to get out of the bag sooner or later. What I foresee now is: pink, purple, dark orange. ;)

I own all the minifigures, most of them in doubles, and I will feel my collection complete even without the golden minifigure. It will be not in the booklet, there will be no "17 to collect" just "16 to collect", so as soon as Series 10 is out, I get my usual box and I complete this series too.

I can announce you all the series 11 minifig will be in GREEN colour. (Series 3 actually was LIME so no surprise they are finally using green). Source: retailer catalogue for 2013. And no, no pictures, just 16 placeholders.

I was able to see the catalogue Sered saw (we are friends) and I nearly agree with him. New sets are just replicae of something already seen. The big castle that rufnek82 posted is really nothing new, nor are all the stuff I saw. I just was able to see 3 pro-s and they are: -The new horses -The new barding for those -The fact that the smallest set contains 4 minifigures. To me it will all depend on the price of the sets. Will be these cheap, I will buy them as enforcements for my troops. Will be these expensive, I will pass on them. Too bad, really, it was a real big opportunity to bring the castle to its shiny times.

Sorry I don't want to be rude, but... just here, in Rome, I perceive about 1000 boxes of minifigures. I believe TLG will product no less than 500.000 boxes. So I believe that we will se ONE per HUNDRED boxes.- 1,076 replies

What it seems to me is: those sets are meant to drag young possible castle fans into castles... to make them buy LotR/Hobbit sets after. I however honestly do not share all this disappointment, as a castle MOCer if prices will be reasonable, though a step back from FE is obvious, I will surely buy some of those sets.

Hello, it took me a lot of time to count the votes and create some sort of data. 51 people plaied this game, and I must say it was really a success. By the way, since series 10 and 11 have been revealed, I will not start topics for guessing games about those series. I have instead calculated scores for the foreseeing of minifigures in those series too. Let's start with the minifigures. The most chosen minifigure is the Medusa, from series 10, which has been guessed 18 times. A lot! One person out of three guessed the medusa right! Second place goes for Series 9 Judge, 15 people guessed this right. Third place goes for the Heroic Knight, guessed right by 13 people. Also the Roman Emperor was an easy guess, as 11 users saw it in a future serie. 7 people guessed the mountaineer/climber from series 11. 6 for the Granny, series 11. 5 for the scarecrow, series 11.and christmas elf, series 11 4 for skater girl series 9 - alien series 9 - mermaid series 9 - roman centurion series 10 - yeti series 11 - jazz musician series 11 3 for chicken suit guy (9) - constable (11) - scientist (11) 2 for cyclops (9) - mech (9) - starlet (9) - plumber (9) - cop (9) - sea captain (10) - sad clown (10) - librarian (10) - grandpa (10) - female warrior (10) - tiki warrior (11) 1 for fortune teller (9) - bee suit girl (10) - baseball player (10) - revolution soldier (10) - mechanic (10) - paintball player (10) - lady robot (11) - barbarian (11) and female waitress (11) no guesses for waiter(9) - female archer (9) - mr. good and evil (9) - decorator (10) - native american (10) - trendsetter (10) - skydiver (10) - welder (11) - evil mech (11) - bavarian lady (11) and gingerbread man (11) And now, for the results. I have two standings. One is for series 9, one is for the overall with 9, 10, 11 This second standings has: last place (1 point): yooha - jedi master brick - gelu number 1 - gedren_y - fireworm - klaus dieter - david thomsen - sammael - silent mode - adventuresinlego 1.5 points: faefrost 2 points: just2good - the-bricking-builder - olliebojangles - dyntar - legofan123 - teardrop trashcan - dane - jeagerex - mystery lego guy - minifig-matt - bjtoro - francis matteo - ojik - kumabot 2,5 points: -GZ- 3 points: me - aeteher fox - the lego dr. - shreder100 - phyre - monkeycrumb - gen. magma - cpt bluebeard - pesa - writers blocks 3.5 points: natelite - angeli 4 points: dr. cogg - walter - archer 5 points: amperzand - pjonze - rakky - chard5000 - hellyfire - the brick rat (excellent result after winning last game) 5,5 points: kai NRG 6 points and winners: Lightning Dragon haltiamieli gingerwookiee Let's see who won the S9 contest bytheway 0 guesses for: me (sadly, again) - olliebojangles - dyntar - jedi master brick - legofan123 - gelu number 1 - teardrop trashcan - phyre - mystery lego guy - klaus dieter -bjtoro - kumabot - adventuresinlego 0,5 points: natelite 1 points: just2good - aether fox - yooha - the lego dr. - gedren_y - fireworm - gen. magma - faefrost - minifig-matt - francismatteo - david thomsen - pesa - writers blocks - sammael - ojik - silent mode 2 points: the-bricking-builder - amperzand - dr. cogg - pjonze - rakky - walter - angeli - shredder100 - dane - jeagerex - haltiamieli - monkeycrumb - hellyfire - cpt bluebeard 2.5 points -GZ- to separe the winners, with three guesses, I considered the guesses on series 10 and 11 these are my final results. 4th place for ARCHER! (3 points, 4 on total) 3rd place for THE BRICK RAT and CHARD5000 (3 points, 5 on total) (the brick rat now has to give his first place to someone else. congratulations for 3rd place tho) 2nd place for KAI NRG (3 points, 5.5 on total) 1st place and winner aex aequo: GINGERWOOKIEE and LIGHTNING DRAGON (3 points, 6 on total) who guessed right judge, knight and mermaid (gingerwookie) and caesar, knight and mermaid (lightning dragon) If I did some error, please let me correct the standings. Thank you for this wonderful game!
